Actually it IS lost. But thanks anyway.
-
That's what I'm afraid of, and we'd rather not wait a whole year until we can send in a new one.

To those of you who had your i-129f petition go missing between NOA1 and NOA2:
-What Service Center did it happen at?-How long did it take for USCIS to admit they lost it, and did you get ANY info at all before that point?-I assume you had to start over completely then?-How long did you wait with sending in a second i-129f packet? Thanks,Janni -
Congratulations, dave2u! Must feel so good for you two now, that was a very long wait. We still haven't heard anything, it's so hard to just wait and wait and wait..

I found one receipt number that has a NOA1 on December 28 that still says "Case received" and nothing about approved or RFE, so it seems like there are still some. Not everyone are members here though.

There was one American-British couple just a few weeks ago that forgot to write the names on the back of the passport photos and they got an RFE for that.

Day 71, still no RFE or NOA2 for us. Waiting patiently.
-
It's recommended to apply for a SSN two weeks after you arrive in the US, as you usually need quite some time left on your i-94 for them to agree to give you a SSN. Not sure when your fiancée arrived in the US?

CSC seems to have a lot of local "field offices" that handles different areas, I wonder if some of these offices are slower than others and that's why some takes a long time while others are faster.
-
You probably don't hear anything until they grab your petition to go through it - doesn't matter if it's an RFE or a NOA2.
We're a January 4th NOA1, still haven't heard anything. -
Is it needed to register your marriage with Skatteverket btw? If you don't, you're still considered single in Sweden then?
EDIT. Saw your edit now.
-
Anyone still waiting on NOA 2?
Yes.. I'd be happy to get an RFE at this point, then at least I know they haven't lost our petition.
-
Lezzyme1979: You asked if your fiancé needed a certificate of freedom to marry. In Sweden we don't have such a thing...if your fiancé is doing it through the embassy in Stockholm she shouldn't need any. Only provide any divorce papers if she ever was married.
Isn't "hindersprövning" just that? If so, then yes we do have that in Sweden. Don't think it's needed for the interview though.
-
Meh, we still haven't heard a beep. Grr..
-
-You're the petitioner, so you're the one who fills out the i-129f form and signs it.
-You send nothing to the embassy. You send a package with all required items to the Texas lockbox. See the guides in this forum if you don't know what things to put in the package.-The whole process can take anything from four months up to a year, in really bad cases it can take even longer. The average is probably around 6-7 months for the whole process.
-Only California Service Center handles K-1 petitions right now. No, you can't choose.
-You get yourself a US passport as proof of you being a US citizen. -
It clearly differs from embassy to embassy. In the checklist we get from the embassy in Sweden it says to bring:
"MARRIAGE TERMINATION/DIVORCE DECREE(S): If you or your fiancé(e) were married previously, obtain one certified copy of the divorce decree(s) or death certificate(s) to prove the dissolution of each of such prior marriage. If applicable, please note that most petitions only include a regular copy of the divorce decree(s) so please make sure to bring the certified copy at the time of interview."
Luckly we checked these things early on so I could get it with me home after visiting my fiancé in the US, one less thing that needs to be shipped to me. -
My own personal experience is that they only ask two questions:
Why are you visiting the US?
When will you go back to Sweden?
And that's it. I tell them I'm visiting my bf and the date I'll be returning and they're happy with that. Go for it. -
I would too if our receipt number existed in their system, maybe it's a good thing it doesn't, or I would drive myself insane checking the status.
Thank you so much, and the same to you! -
I think you're allowed now to call, aren't you? Ask if they still have the case going on? From what I've heard, they're processing now petitions from January 15th (NOA1 date). I hope you get approved soon! Waiting sucks!
We've called in a few times already, after day 45 they directed us to a "special" kind of customer support. They couldn't tell us anything about our case either, it's as if it doesn't even exist. We did get our NOA1 though so we're still hoping they have it somewhere.
-
Our estimated date for NOA2 was 14-16 February, we still have no NOA2 or RFE. It's day 60 now.
-
slimbolina: No, when we call they can't tell us anything. So I have no idea when or if they'll send us a message of some sort telling us they can't find our petition, I sure hope they do if it is in fact missing, so we can redo it all soon instead of having to wait for a very long time for no reason. We can only put in an inquiry after 6 months, so if it's missing I assume we won't know until 6 months or more from now.
-
We still have no NOA2 or RFE, and we still can't check our status on the USCIS webpage. I have a feeling this won't end well.
-
I'd be glad to get an RFE at this point, that means they at least haven't lost our petition.

I feel for those of you who are still waiting for an RFE/NOA2.
