  1. So I have started to look at flights (no I'm not buying any until I have the visa). I'm just looking at what sort of price I'd be looking at and what would be my cheapest most time effective option. But when you come in on a K-1 would it take a lot more time to go though customs? What about connections etc? It's just something I was thinking about so I can get an idea of which airport is more possible as the prices can vary drastically.

  2. Any ideas how long it takes London to allocate you an interview date after you've had your medical and submitted all the Packet 3 stuff? Just getting impatient to get on with my new life soon!

From what I've noticed from peoples timelines it's usually 3-4 weeks after your medical. But I am not 100% certain as I am not that far yet.

  3. My packet was delivered on the 19th too and waiting for the NOA1. Did you attach the G-1145 for a text/email notification?

We sent mine on the 7th and it arrived on the 11th but they sent out an NOA1 on the 14th so I don't think you will have to wait long. If you don't have one by the end of the working day today it'll probably be Monday/Tuesday next week for the email. Then it took them a week to mail the hard copy and we got ours just yesterday so 7 days after the email. Good luck to everyone waiting. It feels longer than it is :)

  4. I still have not heard back. They received my response on January 4th. It's January 20th. I noticed some timelines have their decision in a week. Does anyone know how long it can takeOr how long is average? , or alternately, how long do they have to make a decision? I only ask because I have a pregnant fiancee due mid-May. Just starting to plan for CRBA and K-2...

She would go to the embassy and you'd have to fill out a form if you can't attend with her. They file it as a born abroad and you will get a born abroad certificate and a US passport for your baby. It's all on the USCIS London website under passport services etc.

  5. Well I live quite near boots and was going to get my hep B done anyway since I am hoping to stay working in healthcare where I will need it. But I asked them to add the Td on to it and I will see if they will let me next week, my appointment is next friday so I'll let you all know if they do. But at least it's not like I need a course, I only need a booster so I can just get it done at Knightsbridge and it'll still be ok. There is only a £3 difference in price anyway. It's just peace of mind that I have it already, instead of fussing over it on a day I am worrying about anyway.

  6. Update: This is how we responded to the above RFE. I included a Cover Letter from my attorney here in the USA which explained all evidence included in my response. This is what was included: A letter from my fiancee's UK solicitor whom she emailed and he scanned and emailed back. This letter was signed and was on the law firm's letterhead. The solicitor's letter explained that the judges do not sign divorce decrees, the decree is valid and lawful, and that he was the solicitor who handled the divorce. He also included a certified copy of the decree. We are now awaiting their decision. Thanks for all the help received here.

Very interested to know what you hear back. Please let me know as slightly concerned I may end up with the same issue. Thanks.

  7. wow dude - what an unhelpful GP. Mine did all of mine, and for free, knowing it was for immigration. I just printed the list and told them to jab me up.

I suppose transferring doctors would just add time to the process.

When you have your medical, if you need further jabs, Knightsbridge do issue a letter of what is required, but you really don't want to be doing this after the medical. Especially if your doctors are slow.

Hope it all works out for you.

Alternatively, get them done at Knightsbridge and pay for them. Expensive, but at least it will be done, and you can stick a middle one up to the GP?!

I'm hoping to get it done at boots next Friday. I have an appointment but it's whether or not they will do it. My GP won't do it with out a letter and as I said if worst comes to worst I will get it done at Knightsbridge. I don't understand why it's so hard to PAY for a vaccination. I offered to pay my surgery and they said no. I've tried everything. Honestly I am struggling to get done what I needed done and they are the worst doctors I've ever been at for everything. The only reason I'm not changing is because it's only 6 more months until I am suposed to be moving as long as the visa goes though in time. Of course I have made nothing final, but I still am hoping to move late July.

  8. Wow your GP practice is not as friendly as mine :(

As to proving you need it you could print the requirements from the medical and show them that?

It was my GP's practice nurse that mentioned MMR, I hadnt realised i needed to have it as it wasn't given when I was a child and if it wasn't for her I would have been paying at Knightsbridge!

Hope you get it resolved without too much hassle :)

My doctors isn't very good when it comes to paperwork at all and are very strict about what they will or will not do.. If I'd of known that I'd of picked somewhere slightly further away that was.. but I don't really want to change now since they are getting some of the other things sorted... slowly.. but I'll see.

  9. You could try travel clinics. I live in Glasgow and i was required to get MMR jab and my doctor would not give it me due to my AGE ( they are not allowed to administer over certain age group). they gave me a number of travel clinic in Glasgow. The nurse there new all the guidelines for VIsas etc and wasnt that expensive.

Thank you, I am going to ask in Boots since I am getting my Hep B booster done there (nothing to do with the visa) anyway. But they may not do it because it's not for travel purposes.

  10. I am fed up! I have been trying really hard to get my Td as it is out of date but my GP says I don't need it and if I want it for immigration purposes has now said they want a letter from the embassy saying I need it!! How am I suposed to get that? I'm going to try and pay to get it done at boots who are also saying only for travel purposes and may not do it, otherwise I guess I will have it done at Knightsbridge.

It took me 6 months to get an appointment to view my medical record as I have some health issues I wanted to read about before asking for letters for the medical. I'm glad I'm doing it now. I've a feeling I won't get an appointment to get the letter written until the end of Febuary and if all is going well it looks like it may be a possibility that my medical could be in march (end of). I just want to make sure I have everything in order. I don't understand why my GP has to make me jump though hoops of fire.

Does anyone have any other suggestions of places I could get Td done if boots won't do it?

  11. how long does it take for them to send to the California service center? I received a text Friday they have it and it has been sent to CSC for processing.

I also saw from the timelines the estimated NOA2 date is around the end of Feb, but I ran a search of case number on USCIS and October files for I-129 aren't even done yet. I only went back so far on the case numbers.

Some people in the December thread just started getting their NOA2's so it depends on the case. The information on visa journey is based off the trend they are seeing with other peoples visas and although it is pretty accurate, it does depend. This process is going to take us all though until at least April/May time (for most of us anyway) so we have a long ways to go.

  12. I took 2 big suitecases and 2 hand luggage full of things over at Christmas. I'm also planning on sending 3 25kg, boxes by a shipping company which is costing about £300. I'm going to send books, dvds and my little statue things over in that. Then SO is taking a suitecase back for me when he visits. I am worried I won't fit it all in.. I had wanted to do another trip in April but we just can't afford to and I might have my medical/interview around that time anyway. So If I have anything important to take with me, then it'll have to stay with my aunt until I can ship it over.

  13. Hello. We sent our package on the 8 jan (last week friday), we tracked it and it got delivered and signed on 12 jan(tuesday), we filled the notification form and placed it after in the package (after the cover letter) but we yet to receive our noa1 whether via mail or sms, what could be wrong?

I sent mine the day before yours and it arrived on the Monday. I just got my NOA1 email yesterday. Give it time it could be Monday or Tuesday next week they will get to it.
