  1. We just finished our interview in Santa Ana, CA. The CO said everything was fairly straight forward. We received a continuance form for 120 before they will make a decision. The CO kept copies of our ids, social security cards, checking account statements for the last year, federal tax transcripts 2018, 2019, 2020.

The questions were also pretty straight forward.

    • When did you get married?
    • How many kids do you have?
    • Current address, previous addresses?
    • How did you communicate when you were dating?
    • Did you travel together while you were dating?
    • What has been the biggest adjustment moving to America?
    • What has been the biggest adjustment in married life?
    • Did you accept your husbands religion?
    • Explain how you use your checking account? We had to clarify whose paycheck belonged to whom.
    • What is your mortgage payment every month? We had to point that out on the checking account statement.
    • He asked about N400 and if we would be submitting that in the future.

Overall a positive experience. We're definitely bummed that we weren't approved on the spot but now we have to continue waiting. After waiting 3 years for this interview, what's another 4 months....

  2. Well hello everyone! It's been a while!

After nearly three years we finally have our interview date...We received a notification today that we will have our interview on November 23rd in Santa Ana, CA!

We had actually had two interviews get cancelled right at the start of Covid and nothing since. A lot has changed since those cancelled interviews last year. We moved across state, bought a house and had a baby two weeks ago just shy of our 5 year anniversary!

That should help with our bonafides :)

Detailed info: Filed December 18th 2018, California Center. Transferred to National Benefits Center. If you're still waiting, there is hope!

  3. We completed biometrics on Thursday and our case has been updated in the USCIS app with this message

As of May 3, 2019, we complete our review of your fingerprints and are working on your form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number. WAC000000000, at our California Service Center location. We will let you know if we make a decision or need anything from you.

Now we wait for the interview!

  4. :DApproved!!!! :D

Approval came on February 28th and switched to Card Being produced on March 2nd! We hadn't check our app this week and my wife checked it tonight and we instantly burst into tears of joy. Thank you everyone on this thread and forum. Your stories and support were a huge help during this process. And we thought waiting for K1 was difficult...

Keep believing, the day will come and in the end you get to spend the rest of your life with the person you fought through this long process to be with.

  5. my status is the same..im still waiting too,

My case is at the NBC (as far as I can tell). After I filed my AOS packet and I got my NOAs, my case updated to "We accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case." Since then I've had no notification or letters saying anything about a field office or a different Benefits Center.

  6. I have received my EAD/AP combo card in the mail yesterday :dancing: My status on the case tracker also changed to "Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office".

I do have a couple questions that I am hoping you all could help me out with. When I first applied for a social security number, I applied in my birth name and then they couldn't do it because my I-94 was going to expire within two weeks or something. Anyway, now that I have my EAD/AP combo card, I can go back in and finish the application so I can get my social security number. The thing is, my EAD/AP combo card is in my married name because that's how I applied for the AOS. Is this going to be a problem?

In addition, if I would travel outside of the USA I would use my passport which of course has my birth name in it and not my married name. Is this going to be a problem as well coming back into the USA? Please help. Thanks everybody. I hope everyone's process will go fast.

same here. EAD, social and DL are all with married name. when you travel outside USA, bring your marriage license with you in case they have a problem. anyhow, all information in their system already.

  7. Please I need help to expediate EAD please what is the best way out of it. My congress contacted uscis on my a half but I have not heard anything so far

i think you will need a job offer to expediate that.

  8. Congratulations! Regarding, "bring what they ask for," can you direct me to the true official list of what is being asked for? I was confused because visajourney seems to recommend providing your fiance with the entire I-129F packet. This seems a little cumbersome for him to carry in with him. Of course he'll do it if it's actually recommended, but I thought the official list of things to bring was just the financial support stuff, his DS-160 confirmation page, passport, medical results, and proof of ongoing relationship.

    Thanks!

(We're at the fee paying and interview scheduling stage now. Exciting!)

    Thank you!

The P4 will state what materials to bring. Having more than they ask for during your interview can only help your case. For example, they will ask for the most recent W2 with the I-134...however, if you have 3 years of tax returns then bring it anyways. Keep items organized so you can quickly access them, no one wants to see an applicant with a stack of unorganized papers.
