If you have filed jointly and for removal of conditions you are called for a interview and he does not turn up it could be an issue . I would suggest get a lawyer

Did you file your application jointly ? I mean did your husband sign the application ?

You can always remove conditions using a divorce waiver establishing the marriage was entered in good faith . Lot of people have removed their conditions successfully even after they got divorced

If you get divorced then you cannot apply for citizenship using the 3 year rule you can apply after 5 years of being a permanent resident

Do they actually keep extending a conditional greencard for so many years ? Does this really happen?

He is eligible to work so he can apply for any job . It is mentioned in the extension letter

That is why it is a little confusing as to why they are quoting about the bio metrics in the 18 month extension letter for someone who had earlier received the 12 month extension . May be it is just the way the letters are drafted

We are not visa applicants . We fall under green card category filing to remove conditions on a green card and hence not sure why this should be applicable to us

I agree with this entirely. The current administration is particularly anti-immigration. I never believed their whole spiel about just curbing 'illegal immigration'. I'm not even against stringent immigration laws, I just think that there should be little left to discretion, and that there should be transparency. 

 

Wow. I did NOT know this. That's pretty risky, even before the policy change. I panicked for a month and a half awaiting the NOA because I had used paper clips, which I found out after sending, that they didn't like that. 

Oh really I did not know that and I do not recall reading anywhere that it would be an issue using paper clips . Where did you find this information ?

I took only my bio metric appointment letter and my driver's license and it was fine . They took my bio metrics and there was no problem

My case  status has now changed stating that the biometrics has been completed and now they are working on the petition

Responding to your question, according to the USCIS site they will issue a new NOA that states 18 months. However, I am slightly confused whether it only for those that filed from June 11, 2018 and after because later in the article it says those that still have pending I-751 will also be sent a new letter. Again, confused if we April filers are part of that "pending" or if they mean those that filed last year and are still waiting.

Yes it is not very clear . I heard that a person  did get their second NOA with the 18 month extension.

Did you call the helpline number to check as to when they  would be sending out the biometric letter ? I filed in VSC in May 2018 and have already completed my biometrics
