    do we still need police clearance even if we got NBI clearance? guidelines on medical and interview? pls help me!!! :unsure:

    i'll be having my medical on mar 2 and my interview on mar 9... kindly help me out what and where to go so that it would be easier and faster for me to do this... do we still have to have a police clearance even if we got NBI clearance? what are the necessary things to bring along during those days? :( pls do help me!!! thanks a lot!! - Lyann

    Luz found out her interview date last week. When should she start looking for the Packet 4?

    6-8 weeks prior to interview is when embassy starts sending out the packet. Some packets, however, never make it to the mailbox so be prepared and check out embassy website for content of Packet 4 (link is in uling's signature).

    TO VJ friends, below is an explanation of how interview is scheduled. This is from embassy website:

    All case processing for Manila, including appointment scheduling, is generally done at the National Visa Center (NVC) in the U.S. An applicant’s case number does not determine his or her position in the scheduling queue. Once a case is current, the applicant’s place in the scheduling queue will be determined by the date all the necessary, completed documents are received at NVC and the case becomes “documentarily qualified.”

    We believe the waiting time for an appointment date is approximately three (3) to five (5) months from the date the case is “documentarily qualified.” As soon as an appointment date does become available, NVC will forward the case to Embassy Manila. NVC will also send the petitioner and/or the authorized agent/representative an appointment package.

    If a case has been current for over five (5) months and there is still no appointment date in the above link, check with NVC to ascertain the status of the petition. NVC’s mailing address is 32 Rochester Avenue , Portsmouth, New Hampshire 03801-2909 , telephone number (603) 334-0700. Case inquiries can also be made by e-mail at NVCInquiry@state.gov. [end quote]

    While embassy website states that an applicant's case number does not determine position in the schedule queue, this is true only for family-based petitions like F1, F2, etc. wherein a sibling of a US citizen may be assigned a case number (ex. MNL1997123) but definitely, no appointment will be scheduled until year 2017 since there is a wait time of more than 20 years for petitioned siblings. For K and CR-IR cases, however, where visa is always available, the interview is generally scheduled according to case number except for a few who fall through the crack and those who are granted expedited interview.

    Birdy and Gobdogman, I believe that your common denominator is that your papers went "missing in action" between USCIS and NVC, is that right? How about you Steven and Jinky, were you stuck a long time at NVC too?

    where do you find the IV case number.. is that the MNLxxxxxxxx?

    Hey Joone, it's good to see you're still active here! :D

    To answer your question, yes, you enter the full NVC assigned case number MNL2006xxxxxx. Mari was checking it every day for a month and it now shows our embassy date and St. Luke's date. She is going to go for the medical exam weeks before the assigned St. Luke's date because they are flexible on that.

    Have you seen the PatientlyWaiting list of petitioners in this thread? I hear it's good luck to get your name on that list! :yes:

    Hey Eric.. i'm happy that you finally have an interview date.. it would have been sweet if you guys will be together in time for valentines :) .. thanks for the info btw.. i tried typing in my MNL# but it's not getting recognize.. i guess we don't have an interview date yet :( i'll just keep checking and hopefully i can give my fiancee the good news this week (interview date)..
