  1. I have a question! I filed for my mom I-485 family base, but she got an RFE because we sent her documents after the 60 days limit so the RFE says that if she gets an interview Appt. We most bring the documents they ask and in the end of the RFE it says in capital letters DO NOT SEND DOCUMENTS AT THIS TIME.

can someone guide me! I’m confused, my mom wants to do her medical again ASAP but I’m not sure. Did anyone got an RFE for medical and answer right away?

    Help please!!

Prepare yourselves. here comes an epic rant...

Getting so frustrated with these government agencies.

So a week and a half ago, my wife and i went to a credit union to open a joint checking account. joint accounts are a good idea for interviews. shows you are true.

we went to the credit union. supplied our required documents, electric or gas bill, cant remember which one with both our names on the account and so forth.

after about 25 minutes, they said we could not open the account jointly because her ss card(with her married name), does not match her passport.

my wife can't get a drivers license yet, so they suggested we get a state ID with her married name on it.

My wife goes to the dmv a week ago. brings all necessary papers and documents. dmv confirms that everything she brought is what was needed. take her picture, Then they state that they need to verify something with the ss office. they call ss and cant get the information, because ss can't look it up on their data base that day. my wife is instructed to check save.uscis.gov/casecheck over the next couple of days to see the status of this identification card case. the dmv worker said, "when the checkmark appears and tells you to come back, comeback, and we can get you your ID.

for those who do not know, it will have a icon of a clock while they are working on the case/case under review, and a checked box when it has been returned to the agency. in this case, the dmv.

Monday evening, we checked, and the site said, case returned to the agency. so, as the dmv worked said, this mean to come back to the dmv.

my wife dropped me off at work today(she drives using an international drivers license), and went to the dmv.

waited 2 1/2 hours today just to have them tell her, her case is not ready...

    #######!

dmv says, yes, even though your case states that information has been sent back to us(the agency), they have not reviewed anything. and she should check the website for when it has been reviewed so she can come back(wait half the day again) and get her ID.

the site does not provide this information to my knowledge, only, "case under review,", and "case returned to agency.

So how the F are we supposed to check?

dmv then says, or wait for an email to say your case is ready...

Who's going to email us? the dmv? she didnt provide an email.

all this just to get a bank account to help with her eventual interview.

also, she had a difficult time getting her ss card too.

its just been a pain in the butt. why can't things just run smoothly. stupid bureaucratic garbage faces

GRRRRRR. I need a lullabye before i tear through my clothes and turn green

Jeffo, you have another option, it’s what I did when I was doing my own AOS.

my husband add me to his checking bank account using only my passport(in my maiden name) remember that when we fill the AOS and they ask about other names used, women usually fill it which our maiden name and Married name. After I got my EAD and SS card and driver license in my married name I went to the bank and updated my name and info. We did sent the joint checking account statement in my maiden name and my husband name. We had no problems on our interview. Best of luck!

the same thing is happening to me, the first time we filled the AOS we received a rejection letter a month after we filled it. we did not receive any noa1. We fixed it

and sent it again on July 13th it arrived on July 15th but we have not received any noa yet. I called today and they said that they shouldn't reject the case again if we already fixed our problem. I don't know what to think or do anymore.

Paola I got a rejection from my Mom’s AOS package but on top of each form there was a page with the MSC number, for I-485, I-765 and I filed I-130, each and every form had the case number on top with some weird numbers on the bottom of each paper, I’m assuming they scanned everything because they send me a green paper that said to resubmit everything with the correct fee and the green sheet of paper on top!! My mistake was to mix payments, like I paid the I-130 with money order and the I-485  with credit card😑

I took the last 3 statements of our checking and savings account, car insurance cards and declaration page, last 3 months of electric bill in both our names, last 3 bills of AT&T joint plan and 2018 Tax and photo album, but the IO only asked for “any recent documents” and asked me for paystubs but since si just got my Tax 2018 from our CPA I hand him all the documents, I didn’t show him the photo album and the trips taken by us because I saw a huge pile of papers and I asked him if that was my file since I first apply for my first green card and he said YES, that he put it together in one pile lol.

It was huge, I didn’t realized I sent so much in this 3 years.

  5. So, I just had my combo interview I-751+ N-400 in West Palm Beach office.

we had a 1:15 appointment and we were there at 12:50 and the officer called us within 5 minutes of sitting.

As soon as I saw him I told him I brought my hubby with me and he said it was ok because it was 2 cases so I was happy it was going to be a combo interview.

The officer was so nice it didn't even felt like an interview, he only asked us if we are still living in the same house and joked that he assume we were still married. He asked if we had anything new to add so I gave him last 3 months of bank statements, car insurance, electric bills and our 2018 tax.

After that my husband and the IO passed their time talking about watch's and cars and my husband didn't know that I still needed to answer the question for citizenship and told the IO that we was keeping him to long and we were going to leave lol.

Then the IO said that he was going to approve our I-751 and asked me if I study, I said so,so.

He asked me the No and Yes questions first and then asked me to read and write "where is the capital of the US"

write: The Capital is in Washington D.C"

he asked me 6 questions and stop there because I got them all right and hand me the N-652 where he checked approved and then congratulate me!

I smile to my hubby and told him that I was just approved to become a citizen and he tanked the IO.

we said our good byes and told him thank you for making us feel like it wasn't a interview.

My status show "Oath Ceremony Notice was mailed"

I'm so happy and relieve of this long process, but finally got here.

Thanks Visa Journey for always guide me.

This website has helped me trough this process from the beginning and I'm thankful to all of you, and wish everyone the best of luck on their process.😘

so I received an email this morning that they took action on my case. When I checked it, it said they transferred to another office which was done recently before on Nov 23. Who else got another transfer notice or is it just me . Now it says it was transferred Dec 11. Why do they keep transferring I’m confused at this point. Still no update on the app and case status just on USCIS website when I login

I also got a transfer note in my mail. It updated just today online. The letter says my I-751 was transfer to the NBC and that they finish my background check.

I apply for my I-751 in September 22nd 2017 and apply for naturalization on September 18th 2018.

my service center for I-751 was California

Well theres nothing in the law that states he has to fill out the 864a. Its just good practice to do so. It seems the attny wants to be safe rather then sorry.

Yeah, I guess you are right, it doesn’t hurt to send them, thank you Damara this is why I like visajourney you can always clear your head in this site because immigration is so complex!!

You dont HAVE to include your husbands income (or have him sign the 864a) however it is recommended you do. Technically you can be approved on just your income but USCIS has been requesting the 864a from the spouse in these situations. Is there a reason why you dont want to have your husband sign the forms?

Not really but it bugs me that when I did my AOS on 2015 I didn’t have any problems even though I didn’t include my joint sponsor spouse income and Everything went good, but I want to be sure because I know some lawyers give wrong information and I just want to make sure this is not the case, I used Visajourney in the past and I did my AOS without need of a lawyer but I guess it’s different for everyone and laws change.

The lawyer is right. for purposes of i-864 you and husband are one unit. And since you will submit your tax/return and transcript as evidence it will also show your husbands income.

Is this new? I had my father in law as my joint sponsor because my husband income alone wasn’t enough but even though he filed tax with my mother in law I only included his income but not hers and I didn’t get an RFE. This is why I’m confused.
