From the things you posted, it looks like they would have a better chance of getting a visa than others. But a visa is never guaranteed. I always say that wanted and receiving is one of the harsh realities of life. many people want to visa America (among other things they want in life) but never get a chance to do so. Hopefully your in-laws will.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks and hopefully 2nd time is the charm.

    I

  2. We fully understand the rules and regulations about B1 Tourist Visas.

I also understand that because the Philippines is a high risk country B1/B2 Visa approvals is adversely affected.

My In-laws tried and filed for a tourist visa early last year and got denied.

We only want them to visit and see Los Angeles, SFO and Vegas..and that is it..no taking care of grand kids (we do not have any kids yet)

Sad, but not the end of the world, so we went back to the PI and visited them.

They have been outside the PI, the regular spots...Hongkong, Singapore, Taiwan (sis in law lives there) and Qatar (Another sis in law lives there).

I believe that the main issue is that they have more against them:

    1. They are Senior Citizens 65+

    2. Healthy conditions and with full health insurance coverage

    3. Own their own small business...buys and sells cars, owns a small sari-sari store. We are fortunate that there is no need to support them financially as they are able to do it themselves.

    4. They own their own house and cars.

    5. Money in the bank

Nothing really has changed in 1yr, only their age....

They will apply again this November and see if they pass.

Hey if not, then we will probably go to another country with them.

Would just be great for them to see us here and experience the Beauty of America.

    Thanks guys!

    Yes it is.

    Try this one https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

You need to create a new account. Mine has never appeared on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do which is "supposed" to be the "official" one.

ps: up to date Nov 2018 and still nothing about biometrics or anything. 🤦‍♂️

I will that link tonight and hopefully it will pull out something.

I know a lot of us is in the same boat, no biometrics or anything and very annoying....well all we can do is wait.

  6. Hi Racheal,

Thank you for your kind reply.

    1) My company allowed me to fully utilise my annual leave for 2017 and brought forward annual leave from year 2016. I will do some work from home (at my boyfriend house), approximately 10 days at the beginning of the month. Since my work is a system based, so, i can use Team viewer application to do my work from States. Other than that, i will utilise my replacement leave.

    2) When my boyfriend is at work, i will do my work too... Basically, checked and reply job related email. Other than that, I will spend time watching movies, doing some crafts (since I have an small online business for crafts and origami) and workout. Maybe I will spend time with his parents too.

    3) There are few reason why I need and I will go back to Malaysia.

    • My family (parents, siblings and relatives) are all here in Malaysia.
    • I still have my work here and I don't have an intention to quit from this company yet. It is because I love the working environment and working time is so flexible.
    • If we decided to apply to K-1 visa, automatically I need to return to Malaysia and wait for the petition to be approve.
    • I had gone through few surgeries on both of my knee since September 2015. The latest operation I had is on July 2016 and the latest admission is on October 2016. I need to go through follow up treatment regarding my knees and usually my doc appointment will be once every 2-3 months.

    4) I put my boyfriend as my financial supporter because he earn more than me and his savings is much more than me.

    5) I was thinking to re-apply again for tourist visa or maybe will go to vacation together in the third country (not US or Malaysia). But, is it enough if we just meet once (going to vacation together maybe for one week)? Or my K-1 visa will get rejected just because we only meet once? Appreciate your opinion on this ^_^

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,

    Dyana :)

The only way to find out if you will be given a Tourist visa would be to apply. But more than likely you will not get it.

For K-1 purposes, 1 meeting is enough within the past 2 years of K-1 application, but I highly suggest to do multiple longer visits you to him (if visa is approved) or him to you (either to your country or another country). This is at least assure that both of you and him would really like to get married. The main purpose of the K-1 visa is to bring to the USA your "Fiance", why fiance because both of you already decided to get married within 90 days of the fiance arriving to the USA and NOT to decide if marriage is right for you within 90 days.

Of course sometimes within 90 days or even shorter while living together couples find the real truth and decides at the end that marriage is not for them then the partner who came on a K-1 visa needs to go home.

Goodluck on your immigration and relationship journey, i do hope that it falls under marriage and love.

  7. No one can tell you any correct answer.

The only way to find out is Apply and pay the fee.

Now, if they are willing to look at what is different now from before then that is a different story.

The main purpose of a visitors visa is to visit and do touristy things....

Number one rule is be honest on every answer to any question but do not offer answers to questions not asked

  8. There is no such thing as a compassionate visa and someone from the USA "sponsoring" your trip.

You need to proove to the CO that you will comeback and have no immigration intent.

The only way to find out if you can get approved would be to apply.

The Philippines is a high fraud country with loads of Filipinos traveling to the USA with Tourist visas and never coming back.

That is one of the main reason Tourist Visa's to the USA is very hard to get approved.

Your grandmother can still travel back to the Philippines with relatives already in the USA.

Goodluck and Godspeed and Mano po to your Lola

  9. WHOA WAIT THE HELL A MINUTE

Are you saying - that out of my 150 photos of us meeting in Macau, Hong Kong, and in the PHilippines - all of them are invalid because Im not holding up a newspaper?!?!

    I have dinner receipts

    Visa receipts

    Grocery shopping receipts

Every receipt of any kind was done - all with date and time on them

Pictures only does NOT provide proof of you guys met in the last 2 years

I would make copies of the Entry stamps on both of your passports in Macau (if I remember it they print it out on a piece of paper), Hongkong and the Philippines.

  10. You already said that what matters is that you love each other.

If that is the case you have no other option but to visit more often, stay longer and provide more evidence to the embassy that your relationship is true and genuine.

If this is true love then no matter how far you are and no matter how hard it is for both parties...you guys will have to make it work.

    Goodluck on your Journey !!

  11. Hello everyone,

My husband and I are living with my In-laws. We do not pay rent or anything. Do they need to fill in any specific form stating that we are living at their house? or a Letter with this information will be enough?

    Thank you!

We were on the same boat while doing AOS for my wife. We are paying rent but with no receipt so we did not include this as proof of commingling.

There are a lot more other evidences to send:

    1. Joint Bank accounts / statements from Bank.

    2. Joint credit card account / statements. I added her as my extension.

    3. Life Insurance.

    4. Auto Insurance.

    5. Joint Tax returns (if any).

    6. Medical Insurance / Dental / Vision.

    7. Adding her to your 401K if any.

What are you adding to your AOS as evidence of commingling ?
