No way you can find this out.  Airlines will not tell you whether a passenger was on a flight as that is personal information and is protected.  Something is fishy here.  How do you know that she missed her connection, when you said you have not been able to contact her?  Are you just a "friend," or are you in a relationship with this person?  Maybe this person just changed plans and decided not to visit you right now.

simply put.... you are wrong. yes they will, and they did. but I found her. I even talked with immigration officers at the airport. she was denied entry, but I have yet to find out the reason.

  2. A friend was coming to visit today on a b2. she has been here twice before without issues. never overstayed. she arrived in Houston at 12.30 today and we haven't heard from her. She missed her connection and a search by the airlines said she wasn't on any other flight from there, including one that returned to her county of origin. Her cell don't work in us so cant call. Her phone was connected briefly to WhatsApp but my messages weren't read or answered.

  3. Hello all.

I am talking to a woman in Brazil and would like to know if anyone here has experience with this, In a nutshell here is what I was told. She entered the US many years ago on a b1 visa.  She overstayed the visa 4 years. Her son was born here during that time.  After his birth she returned to brazil to visit family.
She tried to return to the US and was ask how long she was here the previous time. She told them, 6 months. (lied)
She was detained in Miami for 3 months and went before a judge. She was denied entry and received a 10 year ban. That was 14 years ago.

2 years ago she again applied for a b1 visa and was denied.

My question... Is there a REALISTIC chance she will ever again receive a b1 Visa? (I personally think not, she has shown she is a risk)

And If the time ever came when I wanted to apply for a K1 visa would the past situation have an effect on that application?

So, it would be best for him to wait a little longer for the Venezuelan passport (I feel his pain)... At least here in Mexico the new system looks like just started to work... if he wants to go that way, he needs to cancel his original renewal request (for a new passport) and submit a new one for the 2 years time extension.

so you used the extension process? if so where did you do it?

Your friend have to wait to renew his passport in the Venezuelan embassy in Panama, because that passport extention was only a news more than a fact.

No one has been able to renew his passport yet base on that extention.

Im a permanent resident in Panama too and he can not get a Panamanian passport until he get the citizenship.

    Good luck...

He did renew, and was told he must wait at least a year to receive it. but he needs to travel and wont be allowed back in panama if he leaves with an expired passport

Here we go, official, though still moot in this case:

My old passport has already expired. My visa to travel to the United States is still valid but in my expired passport. Do I need to apply for a new visa with my new passport?

    Question answered. Thanks SusieQQQ

As far as I know, the rules traveling with valid visa in expired passport plus new passport require both passports to be from the same country.

Thanks, this was what I thought also but because of the current problems in Venezuela it is almost impossible for them to get new passports. and the us is certainly aware of that. I was hoping to give him better news.

His visa is valid until 2024.

  8. Hello, I hope I ask this in a clear manner. I was ask this a few days ago and cant find any information on it. thought I'd try here.

A friend that is a Venezuelan is a permanent resident of Panama and living there now. He has been there 2 years. He has a Venezuelan passport that is now expired.

He went to the embassy in panama to renew his passport last October after having to wait for the appointment 8 months. He was told because of the current situation in Venezuela he would have to wait at least a year to receive the new passport.
He has a valid visa to the US in his expired passport, which is still in his possession. That visa was issued while he lived in Venezuela in 2014. He has not yet traveled here on that visa. After receiving it the situation changed and he was not able to use it for the original travel plans.
    The questions are......
Does anyone here know if he can now get a Panamanian passport...
And If he does, can he travel to the US with that passport and the visa in his expired Venezuelan passport?

  9. Has this person been served with a subpoena or are you asking metaphorically, what if they were subpoenaed? Has this person actually been served in their home country?

no-one has received a subpoena as of now. but I am curious.

Is there a way to find out if in fact a Ban was issued?

  10. First let me say I don't know which category is correct for this question. Sorry if its wrong.

I know a person who entered on a b2 visa and overstayed over 6 months, less than 7. First, when they left would they have been informed at the border they now had a ban? Second, If they were banned would a subpoena trump they ban? To be clear, would INS and customs have to allow them to re-enter if they had a subpoena to appear in court as a witness?

If you answer this question would you state your source or reason for the opinion. thanks.
