Hard to believe tomorrow it will have been a year that I sent my N-400 package off....Its crazy how time flies!

Guys...its all over...save for the passport process. I am officially a US Citizen.
We got there at about 7.30am. We checked in at the information desk and we then waited in the USCIS building lobby until we were called in at around 8. We made lines and went to some tables set up at the back of the hall and we turned in our oath letters. The officer asked me for my green card which i did not have since I never got the 10 year one as the interview was combined I-751/N400. I signed the oath letter and was asked to look over the info on my certificate and then received a package. At about 9am the ceremony started. There was a speech by USCIS officer and a video from President Obama. They called us by country where we stood. The ceremony took about an hour and we were out at around 10am. I cannot believe my torturous journey is over? I am drinking heavily tonight...lol. I couldn't help being emotional especially when President Obama said "fellow Americans." I was overwhelmed. The Pledge of Allegiance did me in as well. Somebody was peeling onions in the room...

Well folks. Its a wrap.
Got there at about 8am and was called in at 8.15am. The officer first started with my I-751 extreme hardship waiver. I was fretting about that but he asked very simple questions on it. Just about my prior marriage and whether I was circumventing the NTA I received by filing extreme hardship waiver. (I had been denied in 2011 and received an NTA) I told him I filed it based on the facts in the file and I was within my rights to file a hardship waiver if I have enough evidence and anytime before my NTA is filed in court. The NTA was never filed. He smiled and said that was true. He then said it looks good and we moved to the N400. The questions he asked were:
Who is the vice president of the United states
What French territory did the US acquire from France
Who is the current speaker of the house
Name one right only afforded to US citizens only
What is the rule of law
We elect senators for how long?
I was asked” What country is North of the US”…and he asked me to write” Canada is north of the united states.
I signed a few documents there and said I was recommended for approval and will get oath notice in two to three weeks.
I simply cant stop pinching myself.
Did that just happen? I thought I-751 Extereme Hardship waivers were never approved. I guess its true what they say about faith the size of a mustard.

That is a quick turn around time. Did you expedite? Or was that standard processing?
We are going to submit the passport apps for Olga and the munchkin tomorrow.
That was standard processing, really surprised me as the normal time is 4 to 6 weeks.

State Department is on the ball...applied for my Passport on 12/23 and received it yesterday in the mail...just waiting on the Passport card and my Certificate an I'll have the whole process behind me. Congrats to all that have had their Oath and good luck and a speedy process to all that are still waiting!

I have finally been scheduled for an interview– exactly 3 months after having been placed in line for one and one day after a 30 minute telephone inquiry with USCIS.
It feels great to move forward.

I had my interview yesterday and it went very well.
The lady that interviewed me was nice, and the test was really easy.
She said she recommended me for approval. I might be scheduled for the oath ceremony in a month to a month and half depending on how many people are ahead of me.I don't really care at that point, I am just happy the hard part is over... I can see the finish line!!
Good luck for the others that are still waiting & congrats for the ones that are now US citizens!

Done with my interview. Approved. Interview took about 15-20 mins.
Was expecting oath as well today, but was told oath letter will be mailed in next few days.

Reddening my name as I got my certificate, although I've yet to sign it. I've still to apply for the US Passport (alongside S.S. and voting), but I might wait until next week until I look into it now, or maybe even after Christmas. We'll see; no rush!

I had my interview in Boston today. I was called in at my interview time. The interviewer was a very nice very jolly Asian man. He had a very thick accent but I was able to understand him. I said the oath then he asked me the civics question. They were
Who wrote the declaration of independence?
Name one state that borders Mexico.
What is the party of the president?
Name 3 of the original colonies.
Who is the commander in chief?
Name the 2 main political parties
I had to read Who elects congress? And write the answer The people elect congress.
He went over my application and then stamped it approved.
He then surprised me by telling me he was going to get someone to check my application and give it the final approval so they could give me my oath ceremony letter. He said there wasn't time to post it out because it was next week. I was expecting to have to wait another few weeks so it was a pleasant surprise.
My oath ceremony is on December 17th. Could someone please update my info. Thank you.

As of today (12.08.15), I am officially an American citizen. At the Oath Ceremony, there were 104 people including myself that have been naturalized; 35 countries were represented. The check-in process was a tad-bit tedious; I guess because I was anxious. I was called up to the podium by the Immigration Supervisor to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. I was flabbergasted and nervous at the same time; I would say that moment was the highlight of the ceremony for me.
I would like to take this time out to wish my fellow VJers all the best on this naturalization journey and congratulations to the ones who have completed this journey. My journey has ended on a fantastic note. I will be applying for my passport this week because I have a trip next month.

Had my interview today at the New Orleans office. It went well. The lady was pleasant and it took about 20 minutes and she gave me a signed document saying I passed the civic tests and the other lot. She said I might get a phone call soon to come back for my oath ceremony within the next 2 weeks. All the best to those waiting.

Had my interview today at San Francisco Office,
Officer was a male we went through my N400 for a long time, especially my employment history and time outside of US which in total was 115 days he didn't ask me the specific dates or reason of travel. He asked my employment history i remember the dates so was able to provide him same information.
I was asked my addresses for the past 3 years which i answered all correctly, my wife's work place, her birth day, our marriage date.
1 rough area in my interview was, About filing taxes I came to US in 2012 November and I wasn't employed till 2013 February and since I was a student in 2012 I had no income for 2012 and therefore back than my wife decided to file taxes just for herself and said that it's not necessary for me to file, I just wrote a statement about this when i filed my N400. He asked me if I would provide evidence for that if I'm asked i said yes, he didn't ask me any documentation in the end. Our taxes for 2013-2014 are all joint and I provided them original tax transcripts from 2012-2014 with N400 back when i filed for Naturalization in August.
Yes-No questions were fine, English and Civics test were easy enough I answered 6 questions correct, same for the English test.
At the end of the interview, I asked if he wants our new lease for the place that we live together he said that it's not needed. He made me sign form there were two columns that were marked, One said i passed the English and civics test the other one said Congratulations your application has been recommended for approval. He said I should be receiving a letter within a month and I'm hoping that it's my Oath ceremony date.

We received the Interview Letter today! The letter is dated November 30th and the interview appointment is for January 7th at 9:45 AM.
Needless to say, we are definitely in 'Woo-Hoo!' mode now!!!
We were hoping to have this by mid-January so our 14 year old could submit his Eagle Scout Application as a US Citizen. The interview will be ten days before his earliest date to submit the application, so this is a dream-come-true for him too!
We are just too happy and excited to express our feelings in words! (Woo-Hoo mode is going to be in effect for a while!)
There is light at the end of our Visa Journey.

Just had my interview this morning at the San Francisco office. There are two doors to that office; one on Broadway, and one on Sansome. The Broadway door says "US Citizenship and Immigration Services", and is the wrong door. The Sansome door says something having nothing to do with immigration, and therefore is the correct door. (My fault for overanalyzing, since the street address listed in my letter is for the Sansome entrance).
My officer was pleasant, and forgiving when he found a trip marked in my passport but not in my trip history. He asked me where I went, and I answered honestly that I had no clue. I told him I created my list of travels using TripIt, since I couldn't remember them all. He made like 18 updates to my application, and asked me to sign for the updated version. The language test was easy, and the civics test contained the easier questions (no dates, no names). He recommended me for approval and printed me a notice indicating that fact.
He said that a January ceremony is possible, and a ceremony by the end of February was nearly certain.
It's weird that even though the guy was nice and the questions were easy, I still found myself getting pretty nervous.
