  1. Good morning Visa Journey Friends I have a question that's not related to my case. A co worker has asked about a student visa that has expired and needed to know is it any steps she could take in order not to be deported back  especially with all the changes our President has made in the last few weeks. All advice is welcome to best assist in her case. Thank you in advance.

  2. My brother in law is 12 years so he must travel with one if not both his parents

They must apply for visitors visas. They must show very strong ties to home proving they will return. They must apply and be approved on their own merits and their merits alone, proving they also have their own money to finance the trip. There is absolutely nothing you can say or do to help, that includes writing a letter or saying you will fiance their trips. Nothing you send or say on their behalf will help, and in many cases can hurt Also the fact that entire family wants to travel together at the same time will work against them. Good luck.

  3. Thank you! RCripps

I have been to Jamaica for the past 2 Christmas Holiday and would love for my family to come and see how we also, celebrate the Christmas holiday

Apply for a tourist visa. Make sure they have every possible proof that they have ties to Jamaica and will return after the visit. There is the chance of acceptance, complete denial or partial deny/accept. It depends on the proof, the consulate officer giving the interview and so on. You will only know when they have the interview. Hint: The CO will probably think this is an attempt for the whole family to immigrate and that you could go there instead for Christmas holidays.

  4. Good Afternoon! Visa Journey

Father's name needs to be on the birth certificate and I suspect a DNA test will be needed as a result of it being off for so long.

    good luck

DNA isn't needed as of now but when it comes to the interview process it maybe required

  6. Good Evening! I have a simple question. In 3 months I will be in the process of marking a year of this USCIS/NVC/Jamaica Embassy ordeal. At this point I feel I am at the point of pull out hair, finger nails are no more and my bottom lip has been eaten away. Does anyone know or can make any suggestions on how we can get this appointment set soon. I do remember someone stating they emailed the Jamaica Embassy. Please HELP!!

  7. Thank you for that information I am hope since Jamaica do have a NEW appointment system they are now using that we will have a earlier date.

Unfortunately for your embassy its a 2 to 3 month wait after Case Complete to get an interview date. Right now you are in the interview queue waiting your turn.

March dates are being assigned now and Jamaica is at CC 11/4 is where they stopped for February. So that gives you an idea. With 1/29 CC you are looking at Maybe April getting a May or June Interview.

Check out the spreadsheet linked above and come on over to the Interview thread. Many for Jamaica are there.

Note: the fast assignments for Jamaica are expedites. scroll right and you will also see Visa category if other than IR1/CR1.

  8. Exactly

I was assuming there was some urgency for him to be with his children/grandchild.

The question was posed that way in that it suggested this was an emergent situation due the Mother passing away.

If this is not the case and the Mother passing away if effectively irrelevant and they just want to move to the US then the answer is different.
