Heading back home today with hubby.
Safe efforts on your travel home. I am glad there wasn't any delay with the visa.
-
I received an email this morning saying NVC received documents on 08/20/2015 and to allow 30 days.
I submitted my DS-260 on 08/21/2015 so would the 30 days start from the 20th or the 21st?
And whats your guys's scan dates? It seems like the three of us are in the same vicinity at this point ... am I right?
And another member just posted a 20 day CC so hopefully we too can receive that 20 day CC.
BTW which three boxes will the three N/A's show up when it's completed?
Last question lol will the "civil documents" and "AOS Documents and Financial Evidence" always say N/A?
Interesting isn't, because when you had called them they said they didn't receive it on 8/20, similar to what happened when I sent mine in. Urvashi has a jump on us by a week or so lol. My scan date is 8/19, only one day ahead of yours.
a 20 day CC is the goal now.
-
Have you called them? I called today and the lady told me they haven't reviewed our documents yet and that they probably will by 12th of September.
I haven't called yet which is taking much restraint lol. I am going to call this Friday just to check in, maybe see if I can get an update without asking for an update lol.
Interesting they say probably.
-
Hoping we fly through the NVC too Shams!
I so want that.
As an update it was 20 days, so there is hope lol.
-
I'm on hold right now, listening to the NVC music
...saw 3 N/As on the CEAC website this morning, hoping that means I have a Case Complete. Scan Date: 04-AUG-15
You are the second person I have noticed in this thread with a case complete, 21 days after the scan date. So they can go faster than 30 days if they want to lol.
-
Do you guys think I have a better chance of requesting an expedite through my congressman/woman or just to email the expedite email address for NVC myself?
You would think a congress person would have some weight but it will be up to the Embassy, and if you can present a strong case. The Embassy can act even funnier than NVC.
-
Oops.. I replied to your previous post without reading this. Yes, I think it should be August 24.
We're on the same boat now. Waiting for 30 days review. Pray for the best!
I think when you get the letter from NVC it will say an earlier date, 8/21. NVC don't fail me lol.
-
Glad to hear of the success you had. May there be much joy for you with your other endeavors.

I've submitted the DS-260 last week.
Whats the next step? Just sit and wait?
I have not yet received an email confirmation of my AOS/IV Packages which NVC received (According to USPS) on 08/20/2015.
I'm assuming in that email it will give me my scan date? Any idea how long it takes them to scan it?
I called the NVC to confirm they received my package. They told me one date, and then 2 days after it was received I got an e-mail from the NVC. Date received was as shown on my USPS tracking, which was 1 day earlier than what they said when I called the NVC.
I think you should get an e-mail tomorrow.
As for the next step, unfortunately waiting is involved.
-
We got approved on August 13th. I guess, I've tried to get through to NVC last night, but it was useless - the message would repeat "due to the high volume of calls... call back later". So, I guess, I should try again on Monday. I'll call at 7 am first thing!
No telling when USCIS will send your approved I-130 to NVC. However, I don't think NVC has gotten it has yet. It may be a week or two before USCIS sends it to NVC. Keep us updated with what you find.
-
How do we get to know the case is received by NVC. Are they sending an email? Or I better call?
Call. Some received notification from USCIS for when it wa sent to NVC but I wasn't that fortunate.
About 7 days from when USCIS ships it to NVC for them to recieve it and then about 12 days from when they receive to when they assign a case number.
-
Do you think I'll open up a can of worms if I call them to straighten that out or just ride it out?
Something tells me if you tried to call they would tell you that they need 30 days to review lol. I don't think you would open up a can of worms. At the very least they may say no big deal (hopefully somebody who knows what they are talking about).
-
Guys I just remembered something.
On my I-864EZ I wrote down my employers information but for second employer I didn't write anything.
I have a very small part time employment as a care taker, I did however send the tax transcripts, W2's and 1040's.
Do you think this will cause a problem or become an RFE?
I hope not. I thought the intent was to show evidence of the amount of money you make. You meet the intent. Can't put anything pass the NVC but I think a call to them should resolve that. If it comes up a written response should suffice.
-
Thanks for sharing. Sounds like it was good for you to be there for the interview.
What evidence did you provide in your package that was sent to them?
-
You will be getting the IV fee if not later today then tomorrow. This is normal.
-
Hi everyone im asking if there is someone who had pd 2014 and still no word from vsc
According to the processing time from UCIS:
I-130 Petition for Alien Relative Permanent resident filling for a spouse or child under 21 September 1, 2014It looks like they are taking about 9-10 months. Hopefully you will be getting an update if not this month then the next.
-
Thanks.
I don't see any forms available when I login either -- I just paid the AOS fee online and did choice of agent form yesterday (they were the only ones available). That's normal? The email said the embassy can request additional forms/fees and any missing forms at the time of the interview.
Is there anything we can do in the meantime while we wait for them to contact us?
That is normal. After you choice of agent is confirmed then you will get the IV invoice.
It is my understanding that the documents you would send to NVC will go to the Embassy. So you will need to get all of that stuff ready. You are probably familiar with the guide that outlines all the things you will need.
I guess now the processing will be similar to the K1 correspondence with the Embassy.
-
I received an email this morning that the expedite request was accepted and that the file is being forward to the embassy/consulate. What's the next step? The consulate will contact me or I have to contact them?
That is very good. I think they will contact you.
-
Yes, me either. This is the first time I'm hearing about this.
I'm kind of flipping out right now. I've dotted my i's and corrsed my t's and it'll be very frustrating if I receive a checklist to prove my own citizenship status.
Like you said I thought it was determined due to IR1/CR1 status.
I-864EZ
I think we should be good. If they send us such a checklist for that, I will call them and tell them please don't waste my time lol.
-
Oh my lord ... Really? Where does it say that?
I didn't see ANYWHERE not even the VJ posts or NVC Wiki that we have to prove we (the petitioner) are a U.S. Citizen.
I mean my Passport copy was sent to USCIS.
Where does it ask for the proof of citizenship? I'm a US born citizen.
Shams can you chime in on this?
We have to prove our citizenship? I didn't read this anywhere on the Wiki
Based on what I understand the NVC already has that information. Our case says IR1/CR1 so the NVC has in our system a visa for the spouse of a US citizen.
I wasn't aware we need to provide additional proof.
-
I guess you can research where you will have to do medical exam, and read through the consulate specific instructions...
Good point, that is practical.
-
And apparently call often? This whole thing is going a lot faster than I thought it would, so I feel really on edge about what's next. I feel like despite all our preparing, we still weren't prepared!
I reckon they will give us the whole, we need 30 days to review your documents spill. I plan to check in once a week after they have confirmed they have my documents. I called today and they claim they didn't get it, it was delivered yesterday. I will check again tomorrow.
I don't know what much else can be done after they start reviewing it but to wait.
I want it to go fast lol.
-
I guess I'm a little confused what is next.
So we've submitted literally everything and are now waiting to see if they request anything else. All fees paid, everything. So it'll either be case complete or a checklist, right?
Should we be calling about anything? When exactly do you schedule an appointment? After getting the case complete, right?
I feel like I've read so many things my brain is going to explode.
I think the next step is to wait which may be the hardest wait ever. I don't know of anything that can be done. Hopefully there will be no checklists. Also after case complete there will be more waiting for the interview. So much waiting.
-
I agree-- 8 days to assign case number after receiving it.
What's the next step?
Should I wait on getting a response on the expedite before doing anything else?
I would recommend going about it like there is no expedite request pending.
As for the next steps: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process
Log in and fill out your DS-261
How long does it take for getting a case number from NVC
in National Visa Center (Dept of State)

Need to know when USCIS sent your approved petition to NVC. Can you confirm they did and when?
It normally takes about 7 days from when USCIS sends the approved petition to NVC for them to receive it.
I thought I saw where for a K1 visa the case number was assigned pretty quickly after receipt.
Once you determine item 1, you can call the NVC and sort it out.
