  1. We have got our NOA2 on July 17th. However, we still did not get any news from NVC for the case number.

I wonder how long does it take to get the case number from NVC? Is it normal for almost a month and a half but still does not hear from NVC for anything about our case????

We have tried to email them but there is no response at all.

    Please help!

    Thanks a lot.

Need to know when USCIS sent your approved petition to NVC. Can you confirm they did and when?

It normally takes about 7 days from when USCIS sends the approved petition to NVC for them to receive it.

I thought I saw where for a K1 visa the case number was assigned pretty quickly after receipt.

Once you determine item 1, you can call the NVC and sort it out.

  2. I received an email this morning saying NVC received documents on 08/20/2015 and to allow 30 days.

I submitted my DS-260 on 08/21/2015 so would the 30 days start from the 20th or the 21st?

And whats your guys's scan dates? It seems like the three of us are in the same vicinity at this point ... am I right?

And another member just posted a 20 day CC so hopefully we too can receive that 20 day CC.

BTW which three boxes will the three N/A's show up when it's completed?

Last question lol will the "civil documents" and "AOS Documents and Financial Evidence" always say N/A?

Interesting isn't, because when you had called them they said they didn't receive it on 8/20, similar to what happened when I sent mine in. Urvashi has a jump on us by a week or so lol. My scan date is 8/19, only one day ahead of yours.

a 20 day CC is the goal now.

  3. I've submitted the DS-260 last week.

Whats the next step? Just sit and wait?

I have not yet received an email confirmation of my AOS/IV Packages which NVC received (According to USPS) on 08/20/2015.

I'm assuming in that email it will give me my scan date? Any idea how long it takes them to scan it?

I called the NVC to confirm they received my package. They told me one date, and then 2 days after it was received I got an e-mail from the NVC. Date received was as shown on my USPS tracking, which was 1 day earlier than what they said when I called the NVC.

I think you should get an e-mail tomorrow.

As for the next step, unfortunately waiting is involved.

  4. We got approved on August 13th. I guess, I've tried to get through to NVC last night, but it was useless - the message would repeat "due to the high volume of calls... call back later". So, I guess, I should try again on Monday. I'll call at 7 am first thing!

No telling when USCIS will send your approved I-130 to NVC. However, I don't think NVC has gotten it has yet. It may be a week or two before USCIS sends it to NVC. Keep us updated with what you find.

  5. Guys I just remembered something.

On my I-864EZ I wrote down my employers information but for second employer I didn't write anything.

I have a very small part time employment as a care taker, I did however send the tax transcripts, W2's and 1040's.

Do you think this will cause a problem or become an RFE?

I hope not. I thought the intent was to show evidence of the amount of money you make. You meet the intent. Can't put anything pass the NVC but I think a call to them should resolve that. If it comes up a written response should suffice.

  6. Thanks.

I don't see any forms available when I login either -- I just paid the AOS fee online and did choice of agent form yesterday (they were the only ones available). That's normal? The email said the embassy can request additional forms/fees and any missing forms at the time of the interview.

Is there anything we can do in the meantime while we wait for them to contact us?

That is normal. After you choice of agent is confirmed then you will get the IV invoice.

It is my understanding that the documents you would send to NVC will go to the Embassy. So you will need to get all of that stuff ready. You are probably familiar with the guide that outlines all the things you will need.

I guess now the processing will be similar to the K1 correspondence with the Embassy.

  7. Yes, me either. This is the first time I'm hearing about this.

I'm kind of flipping out right now. I've dotted my i's and corrsed my t's and it'll be very frustrating if I receive a checklist to prove my own citizenship status.

Like you said I thought it was determined due to IR1/CR1 status.

    I-864EZ

I think we should be good. If they send us such a checklist for that, I will call them and tell them please don't waste my time lol.

  8. Oh my lord ... Really? Where does it say that?

I didn't see ANYWHERE not even the VJ posts or NVC Wiki that we have to prove we (the petitioner) are a U.S. Citizen.

I mean my Passport copy was sent to USCIS.

Where does it ask for the proof of citizenship? I'm a US born citizen.

Shams can you chime in on this?

We have to prove our citizenship? I didn't read this anywhere on the Wiki

Based on what I understand the NVC already has that information. Our case says IR1/CR1 so the NVC has in our system a visa for the spouse of a US citizen.

I wasn't aware we need to provide additional proof.

  9. And apparently call often? This whole thing is going a lot faster than I thought it would, so I feel really on edge about what's next. I feel like despite all our preparing, we still weren't prepared!

I reckon they will give us the whole, we need 30 days to review your documents spill. I plan to check in once a week after they have confirmed they have my documents. I called today and they claim they didn't get it, it was delivered yesterday. I will check again tomorrow.

I don't know what much else can be done after they start reviewing it but to wait.

I want it to go fast lol.

  10. I guess I'm a little confused what is next.

So we've submitted literally everything and are now waiting to see if they request anything else. All fees paid, everything. So it'll either be case complete or a checklist, right?

Should we be calling about anything? When exactly do you schedule an appointment? After getting the case complete, right?

I feel like I've read so many things my brain is going to explode.

I think the next step is to wait which may be the hardest wait ever. I don't know of anything that can be done. Hopefully there will be no checklists. Also after case complete there will be more waiting for the interview. So much waiting.
