Brag about what you don't have and what you can't get.
Does this mean that if I brag that "I have a big butt" that I really do not have a big butt, and I won't ever get one? If this is true, then why am I going to the gym and fighting the good fight again the battle of the butt?

When my husband was back in the UK, we'd talk via MSN every afternoon. We'd also speak on the phone, send "care packages" of tasty treats, cards, etc.

Thank you again to everybody for your advice. I have managed to compile a healthy bunch of papers that definitely show that we are together and have been. One of the letters from the landlord is addressed to the both of us and is a notification of an upcoming rent increase. I am going to use that in lieu of a rental agreement or lease as I don't have either of those, and it wouldn't include my spouse's name. Thank you for your suggestion Kathryn41 regarding the banking statements, that's a good idea.
Whew. Maybe I can watch Road Wars now!

Thank you all for your responses.
Unfortunately, we do not have a rental agreement in both of our names, as I was renting the unit prior to our establishing a permanent relationship. Most of our items have our mailing address (banking, medical bills, insurance, taxes, drivers licenses) which is my parents home as there were a lot of issues involving banking statements and bills not being delivered and had some scares regarding immigration paperwork (ie greencard), not being delivered until complaints were made to the post office. All that combined made us switch most things to our mailing address. Pretty much only the letters from the landlord and our electricity and landline bills have our street address. We are going to put on the application our residence and mailing address, and listed both on the adjustment of status apps and on the initial K-1 applications.
One of the letters from the landlord is from November 2008 and includes the envelope, and our electricity bills and phone bills are as recent as December 2008, I can wait until I receive the Jan 2009 bills if necessary. Do you think that is sufficient to prove residence at this place?

Hello
We are getting ready to file our I751 and after seeing everything that everybody else is sending in I am concerned that we do not have enough. What do you think
Greencard, app, cheques
Fed and state taxes for 2006 / 2007
Current med ins cards
Expl of Benefits on submitted claims for spouse from ins company from 2006 - 2008 showing me as responsible party
Recent dental statement showing procedures for both spouse and self
Bill from hospital for spouse showing self as responsible party
Letter from employer verifying spouse as beneficiary for life insurance
Letter from additional insurance company verifying spouse as beneficiary
Various joint accounts statements from two banks, one from 2006 - 2008, the other from mid 2007 - 2009
Various electricity bills from Jan 2007 - Dec 2008
Various phone bills from Jan 2007 - Dec 2008
Various travel itineraries from 2007 - 2008
Three letters from landlord (one with envelope)
Renewal notice for joint Costco card
Copies of two christmas cards designated to both spouse and self (do not have envelopes)
We do not have joint credit cards, nor does my spouse drive so we do not have drivers insurance for him and the car is in my name. We do not have any children.
It sounded good until I saw all the evidence everybody else was sending in...

Hello
I am getting the paperwork together to file for our lifting of conditions and had a couple of questions. One is that as I am going to submit a copy of our 2007 Federal Income Taxes, is it okay to black out the information such as the monies earned and taxes paid so long as the names, social security numbers, address, etc are there. The other is if I submit the things such as bank statements (can I black out the account no?) and phone bills, is submitting just the first page with our names and address good enough? I would rather not copy all the pages of the phone bills and bank statements if it is not necessary as it would seem to be a waste of paper and resources.
Thank you,

70 minutes from the time I entered the polling place to the time I left. I got there within 5 minutes of the polls opening. It took my friend 2 hours.

He's such a brutal speaker. If McCain wins on Tuesday (if), the nearly impossible will have happened. The US will have elected a President whose an even worse public speaker than Bush.
I was in the middle of reading this thread and I couldn't help but notice that McCain looks like he is about to climax. Or have a gnarly poo.

Ever had food color coming out?
of one's poo?????
Personally, I cannot say that I have ever had that pleasure. However, I am compelled to ask if anybody has ever had a poo so gnarly that you feel two pounds lighter and you are weak in the legs by the time you leave the poo room.

I agree with you Ling Ling, my grandparents on my mother's side, great-grandparents on my dad's, are from Japan, yet people insist on giving me the label of Japanese-American. If an ethnic description is necessary, I prefer AJA (American of Japanese Ancestry) When I used to live in England, I was American (except when they thought I was Canadian). When my nephew visited Japan, the Japanese considered him to be American, the list goes on.
The way I think of it is my family helped build the railroads, farm the lands, while part of the family was interred during WWII the others served in the military. My mother's father came over at a time of incredible prejudice against "foreigners", my grandmother was a picture bride (Japanese were not allowed to marry a Caucasion, own land, etc) , together they raised seven children, weathered two world wars, the internment, the Korean Conflict, the Great Depression, the list goes on, and yet he proudly took his oath of citizenship as soon as he could.
It took almost 50 years, but he did it. Why would I take away from the sacrifices he, and the rest of my family made by calling myself anything but American?

I hear that they taste quite nice with fava beans and some chalula hot sauce.

It said that I was a ghost and that I play nicely with witches. I was looking for the code so I could post the picture and description but I got sidetracked by the HUGE flashing banner advertising the "Are You Gay" quiz and was compelled to take it. My husband and I frequently ponder just that very topic seeing as how I appear to have way too much testosterone for a female. Unfortunately, the quiz people wanted my physical address and email address, and they wouldn't take my phoney address on 999th street in the LBC. The form kept saying they need my real address! I kept tweaking the address and zip but they were on to me, so I had to cut my losses and run. Now I will never know if I am gay. Woe is me.

I never heard a swear word leave my Dad's lips, that is until the fateful day that he dropped the chicken he was cooking. He said damn. It was like being hit with a brick shithouse. I was compelled to gasp, cover my mouth with my hands, and immediately begin running around the kitchen, crying, and shouting to my brother that the dad swore. He ran into the kitchen too and joined me in the hysteria. Chaos ensued until my dad told us to shut up.

Is it possible for a female to be a douche bag?

I can't remember the brand of the nuts. But at the end of the commercial, they show the nuts spread out and the bags that they come in. And say "And we have really nice nut sacks"
Ok, I had the wording wrong, but here it is.
I like your wording better. More earthy.
I hate any of the commercials that involve those cavemen. They get on my nerves. I wish there would be an ad where they all get smacked in their eyes with a herring.

Thank you for your advice. My friend and her sister are located in southern California. They did go to a Temple in their area for assistance but were not entirely comfortable there. We did canvas the net yesterday for information and might have found a place that will hopefully be able to give some insight to them. I will certainly give your advice to my friend, perhaps there is a funeral director in their area that will be able to assist them.
Thank you again

Hello
I hope that I am not offending anybody by asking t his but, I hope that somebody can offer some advice for my dear friend. Her father, who was Hindu, passed away recently and her and her sister are at a loss as to how to handle the funeral as they were not raised Hindu but Catholic. I said that I would ask here in the hopes that somebody would be able to help them with advice. She said to mention that he was of a higher caste (Verma is their last name) as that might affect how the ceremony if performed or handled. I think any information that can be provided would be appreciated. They are going to have him cremated at his ashes scattered at sea.
Thank you

He's hilarious. I loved Phoenix Nights. I am going to steal these from you and give them to my husband when I am in trouble for something. Hopefully he will forget all it.

I made this the other day
Cooked some chicken sausage w/pasilla chili, onions, and mushroom and sweet onion pasta sauce. Precooked some penne pasta, then layered the pasta with some of the sauce, cheese, and sour cream. topped with extra cheese, then baked in the oven for about 40 minutes at 375. Next time I think I might try using cream cheese instead of the sour cream, ground chicken instead of the sausage, and an alfredo sauce instead of the red, extra mushrooms......
death of spouse
in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
Posted
I hope that somebody can help me with this question. My English spouse passed away last week, we had been married for over 3.5 years and he had his permanent resident card. We had him cremated and brought his ashes brought home to England to be buried there. His family in England had queried officials over there about notification/registering his death there but was told that as long as his death was on record here in the U.S. that would suffice. Is this correct? Or should I notify the British Embassy here? Also, do I need to notify Immigration as he was a permanent resident?
