Hubby picked up his passport last week and will be here next week. Can't believe we are officially finished. Thanks everyone for the help and well wishes during the process.
If you're not done yet, I'm praying for you. Good Luck to all.
Request an expedite- seems to be the only way to not wait 4 months. It can only help.
I've missed your company. How has it been after completing the journey?
Awesome, congrats to y'all! I've missed this group as well...been busy with work/traveling and time has been flying! Having my wife to share every moment is pretty sweet.
Merry Christmas!!!

Praise God. my wife is here now in the US with me. We Arrived at DFW at about 8:45 Am on 11/18/2015. The line was so long for non US residence travelers. When it was our turn to approach the Boarder Patrol agent. I told him I am a USC and my wife is migrating with me and this is her first time. The agent asked couple questions, how long we have known each other and how much money we had on us. The agent took my wife's finger prints, and took her photo and the the agent told us to follow him so they can process all these papers he said. We waited in the waiting room for almost 3 hours and my wife was finally called to the window. They did not ask her any question they just handed her the passports and said your Green card will arrive in the mail in 6 months. The waiting room was really crowded when we got in. Praise God our 9 month journey needed very successfully.
Congratulations buddy!!! Let the real journey begin and may God continue to bless all of us in this group!!! I've seen all the progress from members and I say thanks to God. To all waiting for good news, keep believing and it will happen in God's time!

APPROVED!!!!
Just got done with my interview in Islamabad. Everything went well by grace of God Asked very few simple questions:
1. Is it first marriage for both of you? I said yes
2. What does your husband do?
3. Was it arranged or love?
4. When did he visit last time?
Didn't ask for any additional documents whatsoever...very smooth and quick process it was for me and my husband Alhamdulillah
Congratulations!! have a safe journey to the states!
Sending up a prayer for all the folks with interviews today such as lbreal

Congratulations maniput!!! So glad to hear your good news.
Have a safe travel to states and the rest of the journey.
-
Congratulations on your approval!! Sure is something to celebrate
Thanks mbalih, I hope all will go well with your case!
For the interview, do you really need originals AND copies? I don't understand why it says to bring originals and photocopies...
Absolutely, yes. As MsJC explained, you need to show originals for proof and copies for them to keep if they wish at time of interview.

Thanks Jayisis.
Few questions for you:
How long it took you to get email from embassy? It will be 1 week tomorrow for me. I hope i get letter by this weekend. What you say ?
Do we have to get medical appointment ? or they will schedule for us ?
Same for biometrics, do we have to schedule biometrics appointment ? or they will schedule for us ?
Thanks again.
When you ask about email from embassy, are you asking regarding the interview letter? The only email I received from Mumbai consulate was when the visa was on the way to the pickup location and after when we picked up the visa.
1. NVC will be the one to send the interview letter. I got it on Sept 21 from AskNVC@state.gov ... I believe it was due to my request to the operator that I need to confirm my email is in file.
2. You will need the P4 interview letter from #1 to schedule the medical appointment on your own. No one will schedule the medical appointment on your behalf. There is a pdf of approved physicians that you can choose from. E.g. Amrita...hospital if you are in South India. http://www.aimshospital.org/
3. As with the medical appointment, you will have to choose the biometrics day on your own (VAC appointment at your convenience) at least a day before the visa interview. cgifederal.secure.force.com

Hi jojo777,Hi Jaysis.
Congrats for the visa.
I got CC yesterday and now waiting for medical and interview letter from Mumbai consulate. Is there any document to be submitted from US from this step onwards ? How long it took for the medical checkup ?
After you get the interview letter in email, you should schedule the medical soon. NVC doesn't require any documents from you at this point. At the interview, you will bring originals and copies and the consulate will keep some copies of documents they may need. Medical checkup, once you schedule and attend, it will be about 6 hours to get the results on same day in hand.
Schedule biometrics at least 1 day before interview @

Thanks CallMeShams & MsJC! I will monitor the boards until eventually no one will be posting here and continue to pray for you all. I will miss checking on here all the time.
We now have the visa in hand, flying back to Texas in a few days. I'll write about the consulate experience and poe after we are home.

There was an Indian officer who asked questions about the petitioner address, whether beneficiary has been to US, about petitioners job, who is calling beneficiary to the US, simple questions. There was an American officer who asked about who is calling my wife to the US, husband's age, husband's birthday, husband's degree, husband's current job, current whereabouts, her degree, whether she is happy in the marriage, after which he said visa was approved.

Praise God!!!
He has been great throughout this visa journey. My wife was approved for immigrant visa today, while I waited outside the consulate in Mumbai. The consulate experience lasted less than one hour! It will be a few days for the visa to arrive at pickup location.
I hope that all of us Feb filers will be granted the mercy that God has bestowed upon us.

We put them in the IV package. We had 2 big envelopes: one for AOS package (written on it, included case number and beneficiary) and one for IV package. Then both of them were put in a bigger envelope with the cover sheet on top of them. I know i've done everything right, that's what's so frustrating, cause we checked, double checked and triple checked! Hubby was here in Romania when we were preparing all the documents and we both separately checked everything
Just explain to them that it is in the other bundle of documents with the case number written on each document. More than likely, they split the packages up and looked at them separately rather than together. Try Your best to have them track the 2 packages down and reexamine together.
-
As maniput said, i think the problem might be because it was not with the IV package contents... Hope you can get them to resolve their carelessness quickly. By the way, did you sideload? I wonder if they split up the packages to have multiple officers review simultaneously..you have a very good argument for having them expedite, however over phone might be more convincingSo upset Our case is not completed yet. Apparently they are missing my police certificates and my birth certificate, which is just stupid!!! They were in the AOS package along with the marriage certifcate and 2 pictures of me!
We called NVC and asked to talk to a supervisor. The lady was nice and said that she will ask the people that reviewed our papers to re-open the file and see if the documents are completely missing or it's just something wrong with them.
I told her that i'm 110% sure that I sent those documents and that our case number is on every single paper, on the right top corner. She couldn't tell me though when to call back but i'm freaking calling tomorrow and will be bugging them.
Hubby is reading right now online that you can actually request for expedite if NVC are losing your papers. Any of you did that before? Did it work? I'm so disappointed right now
-
A question for those that have submitted documents to the NVC:
DId you submit simple photocopies or did you get the copies certified or notarized? I know DOS website says photocopies and makes no mention of certified copies, but I have seen mixed opinions regarding what kind of copies to submit the the NVC.
Just want to make sure we don't get a checklist over something like this. Is certified copy same as notarized copy?
Thanks
For most of your copies of documents, you just need photocopy...
If you need translations or written affidavits of any kind, you will need to get it certified by notary and send that copy instead.
