Some Questions for DV Lottery Interview
arken replied to AleksiGT's topic in Diversity Lottery Visas
1. The spouse would fill another i134. I think the new i134 i this is meant to make life easier (Declaration of finance to support rather than Affidavit of support) 2. Providing evidences of income or assets is a good idea. The instructions literally says assets. 3. Copies or even pdfs but scanned after wet signature should work these Post covid times. 4. Doesn't hurt to have it hanndy. -
USC Presence (or other) requirements
arken replied to Skyman's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
What's wrong with saying over 6 months when USCIS itself uses generalized 6 months for 180 days eveywhere? https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-3 C. Breaks in Continuous Residence An applicant for naturalization has the burden of establishing that he or she has complied with the continuous residence requirement, if applicable. Generally, there are two ways outlined in the statute in which the continuity of residence can be broken:[9] The applicant is absent from the United States for more than 6 months but less than 1 year; or The applicant is absent from the United States for 1 year or more. An officer may also review whether an applicant with multiple absences of less than 6 months each will be able to satisfy the continuous residence requirement. In some of these cases, an applicant may not be able to establish that his or her principal actual dwelling place is in the United States or establish residence within the United States for the statutorily required period of time.[10] -
Work from my home country (for the US) while I make my move there

If an employer allows to work from your home country, you can work anytime regardless of CR1. You abide by employment rules from your country. -
USC Presence (or other) requirements

No problem. No effect Under 5 yr eligibility. As said, if you could minimize separation, she could file for citizenship in 3 years less 90 days since she became the LPR which would require just min of 18 months of her physical presence. -
Her son will need his own Ead or GC to get a SSN.

USPS lost my kid's original birth certificate returned by the passport office this year. It even showed up in informed delivery in the email but never got delivered. Upon inquiry, USPS took 3 months to finally respond that they searched n searched but couldn't find the lost mail. Luckily it was only 30 bucks for replacement so no big deal. Hopefully they find it or are in the process of mailing. May be there is some way of asking for the replacement cost. Out of curiosity how is your ex wife connected to your current wife's naturalization certificate?

Wow, it seems it's more country dependent for i134.

Never heard of AOS for DV immigrants. The only thing i had heard about and actually provided a letter to one DV interviewee is that COs want to see some sort of letter (termed Welcome Letter by DV immigrants) saying they have a place to stay once they immigrate even if temporarily. May be just to be sure they don't just fill the sidewalks with nowhere to go on the very first day. Even the state department doesn't list anything about AOS for DVs for at least USEM nepal. Not sure if it'll be different for other countries. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/KDU-Kathmandu.html#pre_interview_checklist Apart from typical civil documents, this is what is listed. Appointment information printed from the “Entrant Status Check” on the E-DV website Documents showing that you have either a qualifying high school education OR have two (2) years of qualifying work experience in the last five (5) years immediately prior to application (for the principal applicant only; more information is available online). Payment in cash of the $330 Diversity Visa Application Fee for each applicant.

For my cousin who immigrated last month on a DV visa, I simply provided a so called "Welcome Letter" for his visa interview mentioning "I am happy to welcome Xxxxx. He will stay in my place and I'll provide him food and lodging till he finds his job and moves out." No i134, no financials nothing.

This triggered the oath ceremony at court. You were supposed to check NO. You are not legally changing name via N400 if you are just taking spouse's last name. You are just asking uscis to update your record and provide you the citizenship (naturalization certificate) under your new legal name with marriage certificate being the proof of name change. At this time all you can do is wait till they schedule your oath at a court which usually occurs only few times a month depending on location. That's why it will take a while to get it scheduled compared to the regular oath.

Texas Drivers License
arken replied to NB5347's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
If he is not ready for the road test, he doesn't need to take it the same day after passing the written test and getting a permit. Once getting the permit, he can take time to practice and then go for the road test. If he is ready and they have road test appointment available the same day, can go for it. -
Did you confirm with uscis if they sent it to NVC? There were few posts here when uscis hasn't forwarded EB cases to NVC for some reason.
