  1. So here's an update:

I checked the USCIS website 2 weeks ago and saw the date of visa processing updated to reflect January 16, 2014 but 4 days ago it showed the normal 5-month processing so I called and spoke to Rachel from USCIS yesterday who was very nice and also very very apologetic for the INACCURATE INFORMATION GIVEN TO CUSTOMERS!! She indicated that the initial info regarding the visa processing timeline of January 16, 2014 on their website and from Call Center reps was grossly inaccurate and was actually supposed to read January 16, 2015.

A friend from Trinidad who also filed in May 2015 messaged me and said that priority dates in February and March of this year were being processed so this is definitely some great news!

  2. Hi wayne,

I'm all the way in Trinidad and my husband in the USA filed petitions for me and my 2 kids recently in May....he had to file 3 separate petitions which would be 3 filing fees of US$420 each (as was already mentioned in a previous post). He filled out the i130 forms and I filled out the g325a (biographic information) form which must be originally signed and I mailed it to him via registered mail to include with the i130.

The g325a is filled out and signed by the applicant, which is your wife in this case, and NOT by the petitioner, which is you.

My husband and I got married in April of this year but we've been together for 2 years and known each other for 17 years. I was previously married and so I included a scan of my divorce decree along with birth certificates and my recent marriage certificate. As for evidence of a bona fide marriage/relationship, my husband printed off all our Skype chat logs (37 pages...2-side print!), all existing magicJack phone call logs, along with photos of us together and my kids when he visited me or vice versa. I also included copies of flight info (emails) for us both when we would have booked tickets to visit each other during the 2 years, as proof of us travelling to visit each other.

I hope I was able to help clear up anything you needed to know and good luck with your application! :)

  3. So...I just phoned USCIS office about my application and was told that my application was received on June 02, 2015 and will be processed within the stipulated time frame (5mths or less).

However, I asked the agent what month/year they have reached in processing at this time and she told me...................................................................JANUARY 16, 2014....and before!!!!!!! Are they for real and what does that "before" even mean????? How far before?????

She explained that Nebraska center is backlogged but she cannot say exactly the reason why. This is certainly outrageous and I told her as much, though this is not any fault of hers. She said that I was free to make an electronic query via the USCIS website once the processing time has passed and someone will respond. What good is that going to do????? What upset me most was when she said "I'm sorry but you're just gonna have to wait however long it takes." While I know that to be true, a customer service agent should never be so blunt but try her earnest best to keep the customer (me) calm. I told her that their info on the website is grossly inaccurate and should be changed to reflect the actual situation.

I suggest that Nebraska send some of their workload to the other service centers so that this backlog can become non-existent.

    :ranting::clock:

  4. Okay this is getting confusing. You are in your country correct? Because your profile says Adjustment of status you are filing for.

Affidavit of Support is not needed at this stage of filing I-130. You will need that months from now after Your approved I-130 is sent to NVC.

Now you have a problem. Your husband needs to now complete two more I-130 petition for each child. Unless he is a LPR?

So is he a LPR or a US Citizen?

I'm sorry for not stating this more clear. My husband is a US Citizen.

An I-130 petition was done for each of us (me and my 2 kids)....we paid the fee of US$420 per applicant. I indicated the Affidavit of Support since my husband is studying his Bachelor's at this time and isn't employed to show taxes, etc. so my father-in- law will support us financially and will show same when that time comes around.

  5. My husband petitioned for the 3 of us with my father in law showing the Affidavit of Support. He filed separate g325s and one I-130 form with all 3 of our information on it. I believe this will allow us to get a CR-1 immigrant visa...which is much cheaper than a K-3 visa in my country.

It would be nice if some1 from Trinidad & Tobago would share their waiting experience. :secret:

  6. Thanks DWheels76!

I checked out the Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet and I noticed that not many persons from Trinidad & Tobago have gotten through since 2013; six (6) to be exact. I'll keep my fingers crossed because I think once the case is approved, it should be a quick process. I trust that my husband and I have a very strong case in proving our marriage is legitimate because we knew each other since high school in 1997! We also have a lot of evidence of our relationship, etc.

In reading info on my country's US Embassy site, I gather that I will be the one attending the interview.

Question 1: Will my 6yr old and 8yr old have to attend the interview with me?

Question 2: Will my local embassy ask that my US Citizen husband attend the interview?

  7. Hi every1,

I'm new to this site and I hope some1 can help me with info. I apologize if I'm asking on something that was already covered but I'd like to know how long it actually takes a national of Trinidad & Tobago to get through with their petition for a Green card? My husband is a US Citizen and petitioned for me and my 2 kids at the end of May. He received a Notice of Action on 4th June stating that the petitions were received and sent to Nebraska Service Center. To date, he hasn't gotten a second notice and I was wondering how long this takes.

Any info would be sincerely appreciated.

    Thank you.
