  1. Went to my rescheduled interview yesterday. The experience was completely different.

The USCIS Tampa office had more covid restrictions than previously, which I think is great! I waited only for an hour before my number was called (last time I waited 3 hours before they told me they had to reschedule my interview).

The person that handled my interview was very polite and serious. Even thought she didn't engage in much conversation beyond the interview itself, she did a good job and was very respectful.

She asked me to remove my mask for a brief  moment for a photo, and took my index fingerprints. She asked me a couple of questions about my case (full name, DOB, address, my Husband's name, previous marriages, children, work status, and travel outside the US).

She asked me to read a sentence on the ipad on a stand on her desk, and after that she dictated a sentence I needed to write on the ipad. She also asked me 6 questions of the civics and history test which I aced!!!  After this, she asked me the questions at the end of the N-400 form.

Finally she said she was going to recommend the approval of my case, provided a document with that statement, and mentioned if approved I would get a notification with the information of the oath ceremony.

I left the office feeling so relieved and happy to see the end of this road so close. 😀 Oh and my hubby was outside with flowers!!! 😍

Overall it was a good experience.

Today I went into my uscis website and found this update in my case:

    January 12, 2021
    Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number #XXXXXXX, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

It also reads that the estimated wait time is 7 months...I hope is not that long.

Anyway I wanted to share this with everyone here in the forum, hoping that it is helpful for others waiting for their interview.

    Good luck to all!!

  2. I am feeling so bummed!  😢

I went to my interview today. Got there on time. Sat for 3 hours. When my number was called they told me that they needed to reschedule my interview because they were still working on my background check.😱 I was shocked. Previously I heard they told the same thing to someone else and I thought that was bad, without thinking they would say the same to me. They told me I should get a new letter in the mail in 3 weeks.

I got back home and looked at my schedule and they updated my case with this verbiage:

    December 7, 2020

    Interview Cancelled

On December 7, 2020, we cancelled or descheduled the interview scheduled for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOE##########. We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I am feeling so stressed, frustrated and depressed at the same time. Has anyone else experienced this or read about someone else having this same issue? It would help a lot to learn what to expect from this.

    Thanks. 😓

  3. Got my interview scheduled for December 7th !!!!! 🤩

Since I got my estimated time updated to April 2021 after my biometrics, I wasn't even expecting it and missed seeing my notice for the interview for 7 days! 🤦‍♀️ ......LOL!! 😂

I am so excited to get this done ahead of time! I will pick up the pace on studying!! 🤓

Does anyone know how much time after the interview, is the oath ceremony scheduled?

    Best of luck of everyone!!!

Has anyone from Florida received any notifications from USCIS? My husband applied in March and his biometrics appointment was cancelled due to Covid. The ASC in West Palm Beach opened in July, but we haven't heard anything from them.

Please give me some hope, I'm getting tired of waiting.

Congratulations to those getting forward with your process.

I am in Tampa. I was waiting like your husband, and decided to go to my uscis account on sep 10th, and send a message asking about my biometrics appointment, that was cancelled due to covid, back in March.

6 days later I got a reply stating that a new appointment had just been scheduled.

I suggest your husband contact them also. As far as I can tell they haven't been rescheduling the appointments. Maybe they have for some cases, but mine wasn't.

I had my appointment finally yesterday and my completion estimate got pushed to April 2021.

    Good luck!

  5. Went to my rescheduled biometrics appointment today. There where no more than 8 people in total (ahead and after me). I was in and out in less than an hour.

My uscis account updated and changed my estimated completion date from September 2020 (original estimate) to April 2021. 😪 I guess it is the same processing time that was calculated for my original biometrics appointment, but since it wasn't in March, now it is 6 months later. 😩

For my Petition to Remove Conditions, submitted on November 2018, I was impacted, as many others, by issues of the NOA1 (GC extension letter) not printed nor sent, which delayed many cases. It took 15 months, which was way more than the average processing times, and a lot of stress to get I-551 stamps twice. Now for the N-400, thanks to COVID and no automatic rescheduling of biometrics, I already have a 6 months delay. 😭

    Am I cursed?!?!?! 😱 LOL!!!! 😅

I don't know if its because it was 5 years ago, but it seems that earlier petitions I submitted during my whole immigration history, such as the K1-Visa (6 months) and the Adjustment of Status (8 months), where handled more efficiently. 🤔

I guess all that is left is to be patient, 😑 keep myself distracted living a less stressful life now that I have with me my 10 year GC at hand, 🧘‍♀️ and study for the citizenship test. 🤓

Wishing everyone good luck🍀 and patience😌!

Hi, did the appointment letter also show up online. I am also waiting for the new biometrics at the dallas office. Did you send a letter for resceduling or they sent one automatically? please help

On sep 10th I went into my.uscis.gov account and sent a message directly using the "send us a message" option in the  "resources" menu. I asked about my case mentioning that the Tampa office was closed prior to the date of my original biometrics appointment, and wanted to know if it was going to be rescheduled.

They replied  on the 16th mentioning that new appointment was just issued and sent to me and that I could also get a digital copy from my documents section. The notice did not appear until 2 days later. I got the original copy via post 10 days later.

My new scheduled appointment will be next week on Sep 30th.

Hope this detailed information helps you

  7. Hi everyone. Happy Friday!

Got my new biometrics appointment letter. I am scheduled for September 30th. The difference with the previous one I got for March, is that this one includes a second page to fill out the  "Applicant's information worksheet"  as well as the new Covid-19 instructions, such as not going in a different day or time, go by yourself, reschedule if you are feeling sick, etc.

Hoping that everything goes smoothly after this. I am sure that my estimated time will move further that October, as it appears right now. I am at peace accepting that I wont get to vote this time. I was really looking forward to it.

Wishing that everyone's cases move ahead with no issues.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

That's not correct, the date of your biometrics has nothing to do with the processing time of your N-400, so nothing to beat yourself up over. You could've had your biometrics in February or now in October, it still wouldn't have gotten your field office to speed up their processing times. If they were even close to give you an interview appointment they would've asked for your biometrics earlier.

    thank you

  9. So....I really don't know how to feel about this. I went into my.uscis.gov account and sent a message asking for my case.

My biometrics was scheduled for March 26, and that same week the Tampa offices closed.

I have been waiting to get any message regarding a reschedule patiently.

When I read here that people were told to ask for a reschedule I went ahead to ask about my case.

Today Sep 16 I get a reply that reads as follows:

    Quote

USCIS systems indicate that on September 16, 2020 we created and mailed you an Application Support Center (ASC) Appointment Notice. You may also view and print a copy of your USCIS ASC Appointment Notice within your USCIS online filing system account. After you log in to your USCIS online filing system account, access the Home Tab to find the "Documents" field to view or print your official appointment notice from USCIS.

Your case is currently in suspense until you appear and complete the process at the ASC for your biometrics. If your appointment time has passed, or if you need to reschedule the appointment, please complete the Request for Rescheduling portion of the notice.

If I am interpreting this correctly, they moved my case only because I contacted them, if not it would still be in pause. I could have done this weeks ago and be further in the process. Basically it is as if I am back in the line 😓 This is soooo frustrating.

And not only that. It says that the appointment notice was sent today and I should have it ready on my online account, and it is not there. I guess I have to wait for the system to update.

I don't know if I should feel happy that finally there is some answers or upset that my case has been in suspense all the time since the offices reopened. What a mess!!!

    sorry....this is me venting!!! 😤😖

  10. My biometrics is next week in Tampa. I went by today and saw the place was open so I hope it stays open next week.

For everyone in this forum, I wanted to let you know that we have a spreadsheet with our timelines for March filers. If we all add our info it will be helpful to see where is everyone at as a group.

The spreadsheet is here and available to anyone with the link to edit. Please be mindful to not edit anyone else's info or the structure of the spreadsheet itself.

No fret.  Just go to my link after having logged into your google account.

Then File Menu --> Make a Copy -->

Name it something like N400 - March 2020 and save it to your google drive.

Edit the header etc.  Then make the file shareable with edit access.  Take that new shared link and post it here.  Everyone is this thread contribute to adding the data into it.

    Thank you!

Hi all.  I made this document for the Feb filers.  It has some calculations and formatting in place to help track the process.

I think someone took it and edited it which is totally fine but it misses a bunch of the columns and formulas that I had put in.  Please feel free for someone in your group to make a copy of this file and for all you filers to enter in the information.

Please be careful when editing the data and someone who knows google sheets should help maintain cleaning up the data.

    Good luck.

Thank you for doing this. I tried to do it myself, but apparently I did not do a good job 😓

I will go ahead and delete mine

  13. I have created a spreadsheet on google docs so we can all share our N400 timelines. I copied a format used by the N400 Februrary Filers. :)

Feel free to include your data, and please be careful when editing this file so we don't delete any information.

This will be helpful for all of us, so we can see how the cases submitted on March are moving along.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

  14. Hello again. I finally decided to go ahead and file online instead of via the lockbox, last night.

I uploaded all of my documents and clicked back and they all disappeared, so I remember reading here that you need to upload and immediately submit the application.

I uploaded everything again, submitted it and payed.  It has been less than 24 hours since I did this and the documents I uploaded don't seem to be there.

Will they appear eventually? Anybody else had this experience?

  15. I filed last night online 03/04/2020

My field office is Tampa FL

Don't see all the documents I uploaded yet, but I am hoping it is just part of the process since it is less than 24 hours since I submitted online.

Anyone else had this situation happen?

Looking forward to sharing this last step of the journey with all of you!

    Good luck to everyone!!
