  1. Our I-130 was received in Chicago on September 14th (sent on the 8th from California by my husband's (petitioner) parents, although we are filing from ABROAD). Received an e-mail on September 17th with the Receipt number, also logged onto the USCIS website with it and saw "My case has been received" and underneath:.

On September 14, 2016, we received your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXXXX, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by October 14, 2016, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to

    www.uscis.gov/addresschange

to give us your new mailing address.

Now since we are filing from across the ocean, I very much doubt that we will receive any mail. We did provide my husband's parents' house as his US mailing address in the bottom of the cover letter though. So we shall see.

    Good luck to everybody

For them to email you ur receipt number by email yeah they wil not sending mails.

    Which Serivce center you at?

    Good luck to you too

  2. Can i say this will be NOA-1 or will this be called NOA-2. Cuz in the mail from USCIS it says my petition has been accepted and routed to POTOMAC service and within 7 to 10 days will be receiving the official receipt notice with FORM I-797 with the receipt number. I like to know this receipt is should be called NOA-1 or NOA-2. Help required.

That is your NOA1, POTOMAC is Service center

so you can now change Yiur timeline from Nebraska to POTOMAC.

You're on the roll.....POTOMAC processes fast.

    Good luck

  3. Hi September filers...my lawyer told me she mail the I-140 to Phoenix Friday and she gave me there's king number for USPS. I try to track it and that number keep saying not found. Is that normal?

I thought it will say process instead not found. Or they haven't put it in the system yet?

It was 4:30pm when I got her email last Friday and I waited until today to tracks it but nothing.

Any of you had that problem before?

  4. Did you fill out the form for email notifications? If you did, they should send you a message about 3-5 days after they receive it. If you have tracking info for your package, you'll know if it got to the lockbox ok. From there, they send it out to the service center. Usually, after USCIS receives your package, you'll get NOA1 about two weeks later in the mail.

Has your check been cashed? If you don't receive your physical notice in the mail this week, definitely figure this out with your lawyer. It shouldn't take a month for you to get the receipt notice.

My lawyer said It typically takes 45 days before we get notice and that's if everything is running smoothly with USCIS.
