I filed in Nov 2017 for RaoC, I got a REF in Feb and replied in April. It has being 62 days since I replied and they updated my profile that they received it and nothing again from them.
How long is typical for them to approve/reply after a REF. I don’t have a passport because it is missing and my 18 months extension is expired. Getting passport will take about 6 months. What do I do? I don’t have any valid ID. I am a ghost.

I just tracked my case and I am getting a REF......I am freaking out. (Nov 2017 filet, VSC)

FYI: This is not for me but for a friend. I have my green card already
He filed for AOS last year and went for interview with his American citizen wife, they didn’t go with her birth certificate and was asked to mail it in, it was almost a ten months until they heard from them requesting for more evidence with intention to deny, they sent in a joint bank statement but they said it has a one sided transaction, the picture they said looked staged but these where our holiday pictures with both families. They got another letter of denial of our AOS/REF and giving us option to file an appeal within 30days.
Do they need a lawyer at this stage? How can they prove the marriage when they already threw out the bank statement, lease and saying the photos where staged.
Thanks.

Say a prayer and hope for the best. Their is no right or wrong answer to your question. Goodluck

Why would you want to complicate your immigration status at this perilous times. Is your husband threatening you? His he maltreating you? Did he take money from you for the purpose of green card? What made the marriage fraud? Your masters degree will not save you if you direct the attention of ICE to yourself.
Submit the GC and live the country

Means no REF and get in line with others. Could take anywhere from 1 to 12 months even thoug Mine was scheduled within 7 weeks

Interesting. Thank you for posting this. Did you receive a letter before receiving this email that USCIS may or may not use your previous biometrics information?
This is what my uodat says “
Case Was Received At My Local Office
On April 9, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EACxxxxxxxxx at your local office. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.”.
Does this means I will not receive a transfer notice.

NB(This is not my story but for a friend, check my profile, you will see I have filed and received my green card).
My friend got married to her boyfriend last year August , she came with a visiting visa. Shortly after getting married he went to Jail for probation violation, she visited and sent money while he was in jail. They didn’t save up for filing for she hasn’t filed or planning to even file yet. He cane out January this year and my friend wanted a divorce but he refused and pleaded. He is living with his sister in law while she is living with her brother in another cities but 2hrs driving distance. My friend is wirking( Braider) while he can’t leave the county due to his probation hence they are living apart but has supported him financially .
Three days ago, my friend started receiving threatening messages from a girl that identifies as her husbands girl friend. Threatening to have her deported and harm her if I don’t divorce her husband. Asking She sends her money or she will call the police.
What can she do? She has not filed any paper work since they got married. Is there any path way for GC under domestic violence/abuse? Should she send her the money to avoid problems cos she is scared of police or ICE.
What can she do. divorce and move away cos the girl also knows where she lives and the current political climate is not immigration friendly .
Kind advice please.

When it is time to file your ROC, make sure you include a brief letter that explains your time apart. You will not be penalized. Show that you visit each other, and Skype/Facetime/Viber with each other, and try to maintain joint financial stuff together.
Good luck with your training!
Sukie in NY
We have already filed for ROC last Nov 2017.

We got married in 2015 and we just applied for ROc, however, I am moving to columbia SC to complete my nursing degree while he remains back to Alabama. I want to get a compact state nursing license hence my option of SC.
what implications does this have on my application? He will remain in our house in AL and I will come back most weekends and holiday to see him .
This is is a red flag?
I also need accommodation recommendation from people in Columbia, good and safe zip codes and apt I can live in.
Thank you ☺️

I just did my biometric in Birmingham Alabama. I was 20mins late and i was out in 10mins. They also allow walks for those in this area.
Time me to take a back seat and chill for my N400 window. My GC expired 12/3/2017 so I guess my N400 window opens Sept 2018?

I just got my NOA yesterday after 31days if filing. They are kind of slow this time around. But some got there’s quicker than me.

OK first, calm down. There's nothing wrong with laughing a little. Secondly, you plainly said "We were planning on filing for my AOS before his arrest. Is there a way forward for my immigration" Hence the confusion.
What visa is your friend here on?
Thanks for answering me. She came on a visiting visa.

Everything is a joke for you all. If my own husband is in prison I will say it and get all available advice. So if you are done drinking your wine can you kindly give ur opinion if you have any.

If I'm reading it right, I think that the OPs joint sponsor is currently in Prison? Either that or the man in prison has a couple of wives? Or maybe shes posting like its a friend, and got confused. Not to worry, no wine here and I'm just as lost. Lol
If you go tru my timeline, you will see that I filed for my AOS couple of years ago and have a valid green card and this is not my First Post. I am asking for a friend that got married and her husband got arrested and currently in Prison. Can he file for her or not.

My friends husband is incarcerated. They met when he was on probation and he promised heaven and earth to change and not to go back to prison. He violated his parole and now back to prison. We were planning on filing for my AOS before his arrest. Is there a way forward for my immigration. Can he file AOS while in prison? My brother in law can be a joint sponsor. Can my friend attend interview without her husband? their marriage is about six month, should she wait till she is married for two years to adjust , is there any hope for her cos she not working and living with my sister in law. she doesnt have money for lawyers and all. What is the best thing to do.
