Chest X-Ray is a tuberculosis screen. You get poked and prodded to make sure you don't have unusual lumps anywhere and weighed and measured (I guess to see if you fit into normal 'weiight-for-height' parameters.
woohoo I fail!
*sigh*. LOL. No sir, thats not cancer, that just my buttugly cellulite! yay!~
Blagh, I had issues getting the chest x-ray done... I'm going to fail based on my mental state, before he even pokes me ;_;
Niph - you're asking permission to kick a politician's butt? I thought that was just a natural born right of every Aussie...Well, he's changed the constitution... unconstituionally... so I thought I had better ask first ;P
-
Katz, whatever you do, don't wait 7 months before finally ringing them and finding out what the deal is x.X
and what is it with different police check prices? Being a National check, you'd think they'd be all the same price x.X oh well :\
I can still kick Beattie's butt though right?
-
Loke was in Victoria
:\
*kicks Beattie's butt anyway*. Greedy sunova...
-
Police Check was $120.40
$120 whaaaa? Is that for NSW? QLD is $142.60!
Looking over the embassy information, Brisbane Doctors cost more then NSW too! ;_; that had better be for sending the info to the consulate! blagh

I put down rare, simply because whilst I don't know of a lot of Australians living in Arkansas, there is at least an Australian Shop there.
Thankfully, Walmart seems to FINALLY be bringing in Cadbury, so I wont be going psycho so much
-
Got friends in American who not only went at midnight in costume, but also performed scenes from the previous books and stuck around and read the first chapter aloud to the audience
.. and I would have been with them in my Ravenclaw robes acting alongside... if I was there :\ I wont be getting my book till either tomorrow or wednesday :\

I've been dating my SO since 1999. Back then it was Online Chat. Then it progressed to AIM (which is what it's been since). Every once in a while we'll do video chat, but being on Dialup (me) meant it wasn't all that great.
I really don't know how it lasted so long with using only AIM. Kinda weird
For a while, we also had Pokerstars and last year we (myself and some friends ;p) finally convinced him to get into World of Warcraft.... till the computer decided to break down. So now he's using a comp that can't handle it x.X
Let me tell you though, WoW is great if you can play it
And if you get a Vent or Teamspeak server, it's just as good as Skype
(course, I guess any sort of MMORPG would work)

Loke, eewww American Airlines, Airline of The Beast. This will be my last flight with them, unless my husband decides he's actually going to spend money and get my tickets and goes with another airline ;P
I'd prefer SouthWest, especially after the fiasco last year of the December storms and not getting out of Arkansas because of the crappy AA planes (SW are sturdier and could fly during the storms), but they have that whole "lol, your ### is too wide, pay up" thing going on
My ### aint THAT wide, but sheesh @.@ 17 inches is NOT that generous
I love AA's way of *always* overbooking in DFW. Every. single. time I go through DFW, there is always an overbooking, and ALWAYS people angry and upset because they can't go on that flight. I'd offer, but sheesh, I just came from the other side of the world!

/(soup) Interview Nazi "YOU COMPLAIN TOO MUCH, front of the que for you!, get outta heerree"
Congrats!!! Wow, I don't feel so bad about mine now. I was NOT looking forward to a November/December interview date. Course, now my paperwork maybe delayed getting to the consulate because of APEC, but hopefully, my interview wont
*dances for Sharyna*

I'm confused as to what I've had jabbed into me when I was younger too, but they can tell you what you've been jabbed with if you do a Blood Test and have them look for it.
An Australian on here (Hampster) posted a list of what the Panel doctors are looking for, but I dont have the weblink on me (stupid printouts x.X), so you could look for his posts. It was posted April 26th, 2007, and the list was from a receptionist of a South Australian Medical doc.
At least for Australia, we're to have the following vaccinations: Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Polio, Tetanus and Diptheria Toxoids, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Influenza type B, Hepatitis B, Varicella (chicken pox) and Pneumococcal.
If you haven't had it, they'll give it to you (probably not for free mind you), and if you HAVE had it, you've got the paperwork to show the Panel Doctor.
Also, make sure you have the TB shot. Thats the one they ask you to return in a few days. You may be able to get a Chest X-ray done beforehand too.
-
You mentioned medical, so I assume you mean NON-NVC/Embassy costs.
I know with Australia, the Police Certificate /w fingerprints is $142aud, no clue about Britain though.
Apart from that, I think really the only other costs would be travelling o.O

hey guys!
hope you all had a great weekend or are having a great weekend to those of you in the US already...
i heard last night on the news that Sydney is no longer going to be locked down - meaning basically business as usual.... this being said..
does anyone think that i should email the consulate and ask for a closer date? (my interview currently being 10th october?)....
I'd give it a try. What are they going to say?
/(soup)Interview Nazi "Joo complain too much! NO INTERVIEW FOR JOO! NEXT!"?
However, they are still locking down the Opera House and Parliament/Government House... *shrugs* in one ear, out the next
I just find it sad and ironic for you o.o *hugs* You go via K3 to get there several months earlier, and get tied up for months waiting around for the interview x.X
-
voting rights can't do harm? I think there are a lot of anti-bush people who will go against you on that.
People vote in the 'wrong' people. Be it misinformed, or threatened.

PF Changs, hmm... Is that the restaurant that has the huge pompous horses out front?
-
o.O
I suppose so. The automatic msg didn't change though till they had received the AoS, so I guess I just assumed (and yet, I also knew it wasn't the case as I had seen other journeys with the packet being sent out before the AoS was sent in, and because of the flowchart).
I used that example though, since it was obvious that it's NOT processed and sent on the same day.. even if the reason was wrong (hey, my husband sent me on a wild goosechase because of the I-864, I need to blame him for something ;P).
I guess this is just another trick of the mind to justify the length of time it takes
and I'm too chickensh*t something will be missed if I use James' shortcuts
... I just wish NVC sent their mail weekly, and not bi-monthly... or whatever it is they do :\ Daily would be even better :\
-
NVC should send you a timeline of what the applicant and what the petitioner has to do.
Processed and Sent are definitly NOT the same. NVC seems to send mail either weekly, or monthly, and I suspect the Packet 3 (DS-230 packet) is dependant on them receiving the petitioner's Affidavit of Support.
For eg, see my timeline. I sent my Immigration Bill back on the 28th of May, give or take 1-2 weeks for mail. They receive the bill and process the packet... but it's not sent.
My husband finally got around to finishing and sending in the AoS at the end of June sometime, and THEN it's sent.
They probably due generate the next step that same day, and get it ready for mailing, but it's not actually mailed till another date (unless it's done ON that date I suppose)
I completly understand wanting to know what happens to try and cut down on time. I'm trying to do the same thing short of using James's Shortcuts. Expect a lot of stress though

Worst Case Scenario?
Flying from Australia, all the way to LA, dealing with LAX and the PEOPLE, flying to DFW, dealing with DFW and it's messed up terminal system... then crashing on my way to Arkansas :\ (a 45 min flight)
As for the TB thing mentioned earlier, Australia now has POLIO because of some smart ### student x.X
Apart from that, the worst I've experienced is:
- Flying Japan Airlines during the September 11 terrorist attacks. (Geneva Convention is a dirty word methinks x.X)
- Flying LAX-BNE and had to divert around an active volcano, and thus, having to land and refuel at some random island airport, and could not get off, but had to leave the seatbelts OFF in case there was a fuel leakage... and we had to run... (yeah, logic, I think, doesn't work well with fuel fumes
)
- Flying during the early december storms last year. Held in Arkansas for 2 hours, missed DFW-LAX flight by 10 mins. Get on next flight. Missed LAX-SYDNEY flight by 2 mins (we watched it Taxi out.. it left ON TIME, even though the whole country was delayed by at least an hour *headdesk*). Missed SYD-BNE by 30 mins (the one time my 'declare stuff since the line is shorter' plan failed).
-
... aside from lying her ### off to said people :\
I wonder if she just got from a flight that had a REALLY annoying kid. Of course though, thats not this woman's fault :\
-
There HAS to be more to this.
I do not see a Captain, Co-pilot, ground staff and air traffic control A-Okaying a plane taxi-ing BACK because a baby is cooing 'Bye Bye Plane', all on the say so of a flight attendant...
An obnoxious 'BYEBYEPLANEBYEBYEPLANEBYEBYEPLANEBYEBYEPLANE' perhaps, but as it stands, it smells fishy...
-
If you're REALLY that worried about it, just go ahead and have it done. That way, if they suddenly spring on you that you need it, it's done!
*shrugs* I'd rather have a small needle ####### then that stress on my mind. You probably can get it done at any doctors, have them sign and give you the original, take it with you to Dr. Waks, and bobsyauncle

*throttles husband*
Well, found out the REAL story... Mother-in-laws are great, appreciate them, especially if you have a half-brain husband x.X
I was able to quiz her about it, and what they filled was an I-864A. Gah! MEN! Immigration is a headache enough as is x.X
Well, at least this question is out there now in case someone else quizzes about it. Thanks for all the help
*yes, that is his smug smile in my icon
... he's giving me it now over the internet

Hmm, I have a question.
I was going back over my documents again, seeing what I wrote and whatnot. It was then I realised I didn't send an extra piece of paper with my DS-230 that had the rest of my dates in America >< (I know I know, <--stupid)
On the actual form, it only has space for 3, but I've been over 6 times, and I listed them from the latest trip back (2006,2004,2003). None of them were for over 3 months, but I guess I'm worried since I didn't state them, they may think I'm hiding something.
Should I send an e-mail with this extra information? (considering it took them 10 days to write back) or just wait till the Interview? They have my maiden name and the dates of when I entered USA under that name, they possibly could track the other 3 if they wanted to.
In the meantime, I'm trying to track down my boarding passes, but most of them have faded beyond recognition ><
