Hi I also have a question. I filled my I601 and it got sent to NSC. Does anyone know the processing times for Nebraska service center? And do I need to contact the NVC or the US consulate to keep my case active?

According to my immigration lawyer, keep in contact with the embassy and notify them that you still want your application open. I had one year to complete my work sheet after my interview, and I have stayed in contact with them.

Thanks for everone's help. Emails, phone calls, are all included in the flat rate. He asked me to get a couple letters from non family members supporting my cause, and said he would take care of the rest. He has a lot of experience doing this, and told me he has a very high success rate. He said it would take a couple of weeks to put together the packet, so he's obviously doing more than filling out the I-601. He also verified he needed my drivers license and SIN number to verify I was really who I said I was. Guess I can't do anything but sit back and hope for the best!
