No updates on my end. We submitted my paperwork in early November and I got my biometrics done right before the Christmas holidays.

It's shocking that people's appointments are being scheduled halfway across the country, even if it is by mistake.

It's really shocking, makes you question what is happening at USCIS - I mean recently people received green cards with the wrong "resident from" date and now there is this issue with biometrics scheduled halfway across the country.  I hope that those appointments can be rescheduled at local offices for those it affects.

  2. Any updates for November filers?

Been reading around a few other threads and people have received their delayed biometrics appointment notices or letters saying their old biometrics will be used.  Some real messed up things happening though - I saw someone from Florida with an appointment that was scheduled in California, and someone from Michigan who has an appointment scheduled in Oregon.

Seems like something is really messed up at the moment.  Doesn't help the stress levels, that's for sure

Thanks, that's a relief. I will call them on Monay. I will also call Jacksonville and ask if I can do this via Infopass.

Definitely give Jacksonville a call.  There was someone trying to do a walk in for biometrics when I was there in December and the security guards were being so incredibly rude and wouldn't let them in the building, despite the waiting room for biometrics appointments being practically empty.

Has anyone received an email like the following. I am a Nov filer,  I received one like this on March 27th, and then again on April 9th.  Maybe nothing...or it may mean that they are "touching" my file...curious to find out what others have experienced.

We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time

We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on February 27, 2018.

Yup, mine is very much similar until this other update dated on April 9th. Maybe there will be an interview coming up since other people did not get the same update. I really hope there is an interview for me soon, from what I see on this forum it will speed up the process. :D

I wouldn't get your hopes up, seems like a lot of people have had the same April 9th update.  Just take a look around at a few of the other threads

I just called Usics, and now I am in line to receive a call from them about my case and why is it at the local office.  The lady at customer service told me my case is still at CSC but I will update when I talk to the immigration officer.

Just a heads up, but tier 2 might not be able to give you a straight answer either.  It seems that people are getting mixed responses from them - some are being told the transfer is to ease the backlog, some are being told it's for an interview, and others are being told it's a glitch.

I actually wish there would be an announcement either way to help ease worries and concerns.

Yes its march 22nd, and dont worry i believe that they are working on all our cases, my theory is those whos dates changed from late feb to march 4th or 5th have been approved, or rfe, you just have to be patiente and wait til later today or a couple of days and should be recieving something in the mail

Congrats on the Interview.  I hope it's just a formality and you'll get approved on the spot :)

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to how they are processing the cases at the moment, as I've seen April, July and now November filers get approvals whilst September 2016 people are still waiting

  8. Given all the different responses people have had from USCIS;  I think it's safe to say they don't definitively know an answer either.

Curious to see the status of everything after the maintenance tonight though - I've been wondering if maybe there has been a policy shift in how I-751 is processed (through the local office etc.)  As I'm more cynical, I'm expecting that this is just a glitch.

Either way, my expected time frame for waiting through CSC hasn't changed - if I get approved earlier than the current processing time then that's a bonus.

Not sure if folks have seen this https://citizenpath.com/avoiding-i-751-interview/  I know it is from a third party visa assistance firm, so I always wonder how accurate it is.  However if the process described is somewhat true I wonder if our cases have been  "if an interview is deemed necessary, the case is sent to the Service Center’s Adjudications Unit and given to an adjudicator to assign a fraud level. Subsequently, the fraud levels of A, B, and C are assigned to your case based on the documentation submitted with the I-751 petition."   Curious to know what others think.

I know some people on the forums here have called USCIS and spoken to tier 2 officers - some are being told that cases are being transferred to help ease the backlog at the service centers, and some have been told that it's an error and that the cases are still at the service centers.  I guess they call it the misinformation line for a reason :P

I know in the past that cases have been transferred between VSC and CSC to help backlogs, but it's unusual for them to be sent to local offices - especially without any official announcements about it.  My guess is either it is a glitch, or they are changing the process for I-751 and handing it over to the local offices - which could be a good or bad thing for waiting times

Think we have to be careful, this might be a glitch, as I took a photo of the update yesterday to send to my wife, and that had the date of Feb 25th on there, now today that same thing shows received on Feb 26th. so this might just be a big run around everybody. see if anyone elses changed?

Mine changed date too - yesterday it had the date of Feb 24th and today showing the date of Feb 27th.  If it's not some kind of glitch, I wonder if there has been a processing change where Local Offices are now adjudicating the I-751.

Whilst I remain cautiously optimistic, I think I'm still looking at the same approval time frame as if it was still at CSC (so sometime next year) so if movement happens sooner than at least it will be a pleasant surprise.

Hey man, It's a good news. I wonder what is the status of January and February 2018 applicants? If their case status also says that their case is transferred to local field office then it might be a glitch.

I've popped in the threads but no one has mentioned that their case status has transferred.  I'm a November 2017 filer and got the message mine transferred on 24th February, and I've seen a couple of December 2017 filers say they also got transferred.

Same here, saw the thread about "transfers" and using the extension letter case number, sure enough mine was received at my local office, which would be Santa Ana, yesterday , 25th. Weird... there will be still a massive wait, but if these transfer are for cases as far back as late 2016, this might go either way

One thing that did cross my mind was increased RFEs due to paperwork going missing   That's the natural worrier in me though.  I hope this transfer moves the process along and the people still waiting from 2016 get their approvals soon
