  1. Hello everyone,

Received an update this AM in regards to card being produced so hopefully that’s the case!   (Filed I-751 “5/30/17”).

I’m going to be filling the N-400 for my wife before end of year once we take a few months break from processing USCIS material.

Hope everyone one is doing well and all the best to those patiently waiting for an update.  Hang in there, I’m sure more approvals will follow.   :)

  2. Biometrics appointment received for wife/daughter just now.  They are scheduled for 6/26 but we'll be on vacation starting the 23rd, so we'll try our luck at our local CSC first thing this Monday.  I am hopeful that they'll take us in on an early walk-in with our flight/vacation itinerary.  If not, I'll send in paperwork for a rescheduled date upon our arrival back from vacation in early July.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Yes that's what I'm seeing, just wish I can receive the biometric appointment  so that I can plan summer vacations :D

We're going to enjoy some away time in Ixtapa at the end of the month God willing, hopefully the biometrics will be received before our travel and we can get that squared away for wife/daughter before our departure.  If not, my sister will be watching our mailbox while we are out of the country for roughly 12 days and should the schedule fall for the biometrics appointment during our absence, she knows how to submit a request for a later date which is no biggie.  We're patient since this process will be a while either ways!

During AOS, our local office in my hometown allowed an early walk-in for biometrics since we were going to be on vacation the week that the scheduling hit so I'm also hopeful we can take our chances and try if needed before we depart as well since we have our travel tickets, hotel bookings, etc. to show for.  :)

  4. Hello everyone,

It has been a while since I posted but we are back...

I am sending the I-751 package that I filled out for my wife (K-1) and step daughter whom I treat as my own (K-2) on Saturday, May, 27th God willing.  Their 2 year conditional Green Cards expire on 8/25, so I will be sending out the package right when their 90 day eligibility period begins.  With the holiday coming up on Monday, the California Service Center should receive the package by Tuesday the 30th.

There is plenty of evidence that we enclosed (Home purchase last June - closing statement/deed of trust, marriage certificate, son's birth certificate, combined bank accounts statements/credit card statements, recent tax transcripts, 401k beneficiary, family healthcare coverage through my employer, auto policy in effect for both self/wife, family vacation itineraries, lot's of pictures, etc.)  We were blessed with our roughly 10 month old son last August and she is pregnant once again LOL, but it's a blessing since we will be closing shop on completing our happy family after he/she arrives in early January '18 God willing.   :)

It is amazing how my wife and step daughter that is now 7 years old have adjusted to their new life in the USA.  My wife is currently enrolled in ESL classes in adult school and independent when it comes to driving around our city, running errands, going to Dr's appointments, etc.  My daughter will be completing 1st grade next week and her English is "fluent" which is amazing, not to mention the awards she has received from her school at such a young age.  We are truly blessed as a family and hoping that this ROC process goes smoothly.

Best of luck to everyone on this thread and enjoy your holiday weekend.

  5. Slight correction to the above so that it makes more sense, LOL... (Sorry)

You are suppose to apply for the ROC (Removal of Conditions/10 year GC) within 90 days of your 2 year GC expiring. You can continue to work during ROC since once the I-751 petition is received by USCIS, you should receive a letter that entitles you to a 1 year extension to be a legal resident to the US (while I-751/ROC is processing). You can use that letter for any travel needs, DMV purposes, work related matters, etc. :)

Should make more sense now. Added notes in parenthesis.

  6. It's been a long time..hope everyone is doing good.. :)

Just have a quick question.. when are we supposed to apply for the 10 year Residency Card? Can we still continue to work while waiting for the 10 year card?

Congrats Gera & Rocio! I and my husband are expecting a baby boy too in August (L) Thanking God for this wonderful blessing.. :)

Thank you all again in advance.. :goofy:

    All is great here, thanks!

Glad to hear about your future bundle of joy baby-boy, CONGRATS!!!

  7. Dear April filers:

So after 11months from filing date, I received an email yesterday that my case has been approved - I had received RFE just after the interview in oct to provide more proof of bonafide, I sent in the documents I could come up with on jan5th, I waited 2 months with no response from USCIS and made an info pass on the 15th and yesterday I got the approval alert.

I want to thank each an everyone on here for your input & suggestin when the going was tough and for those still waiting for response and/or going through this nerve racking process, do not relent because a good news is coming your way.

I also want to say thank you so much Vj for such a wonderful forum with rich content that has helped alot of people like myself in finding the happiness they seek by uniting with their loved ones.

    Bless..

    Glad to hear, CONGRATS!!!

I hope that all fellow April '15 filers have received their GC's or updated news by now. The only news I have to share is, my (5 year old K-2/soon to be 6) daughter is fluent in the English language which is simply amazing and my wife (K-1) has adjusted just fine. We are expecting a baby boy in August - God willing and I couldn't be happier. :)

All the best and hope that everyone had a Happy Easter!!!

  8. Hello all, hope that everyone has been well. Haven't been on here for a while but just wanted to check in to provide an update for my wife. She has been working for quite some time now and also obtained her CA Drivers License. I recently purchased a new car for her and all is going well. My wife and daughter have been adjusting perfectly fine to life in the USA with my support. Our daughter is enjoying kindergarten also while picking up the English language. :)

We are very blessed. Best of luck to you all and take care!

  9. Good Afternoon,

My fiance and I have "made it official" and we are now working towards her AOS. However, I have been having problems obtaining her i94 number from the CBP website. We entered through the Otay Mesa crossing in a car, I dont know if that has anything to do with her i94 number not showing up on the website. I even entered my information and nothing comes up. Any suggestions as to how to proceed?

    Thanks,

    Rafael

  10. Good Afternoon,

I've been off the radar for a while, luckily everything went smoothly in Juarez. We are now in LA starting off our new lives. I just want to clarify if my fiance has to change her last name when we get married? I believe immigration will giver her her residency using her maiden name with my last name. Any suggestions?

Again thanks for all of your guidance during the interview process, it was truly helpful.

    Thanks,

    Rafael

    Hello again,

Glad to hear that all went smoothly in Juarez. When you mentioned the term LA, I got bummed out because I am a big time DODGERS fan and we flat out wasted another shot at a World Series appearance yet again, LOL. Ya que!

To answer your question: My wife took on my last name when we got married and bypassed her last name completely. You can go your route and she can hyphenate your last name while keeping hers but make sure that you submit it as you'd like when you go in for the marriage license. For example if her maiden name is Garcia and yours is Ramirez, list it as...

    Maria Garcia-Ramirez or Maria Ramirez-Garcia

It is your guys' choice but also make sure that you represent the same new name that she takes on upon marriage when you submit the Adjustment of Status (AOS) paperwork.

Suerte and may God bless your upcoming marriage/new lives in the US. :)
