  1. While completing The N-600 for my Naturalized wife’s 13 yr. old son, the  form is asking for Census Record. It is secondary evidence but states it is required otherwise an affidavit is required.

I believe we did a census form online around March 2020

Has anyone ever accessed their census record on line? I looked on the census.gov site and cant seem to see that info.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can provide information.

The interview is a requirement for the N400, so don't overly stress out about getting an appointment for one :)

Has she started studying for the Civics test?  She will need to pass that for approval as well.

We are not stressed at all. She knows the study book inside out plus all the other State, County and city political info.

she keeps reviewing , not to get rusty. Kind of anxious, like everyone else, to get this over.

This is part of the process for the N400 interview.

The oath will probably be done at a later date (once the N400 is approved, she'll receive a letter regarding the oath).  If she does happen to get a same-day oath ceremony, which happens still but is not as common an occurrence, consider yourselves lucky. :)

Do not be overly disappointed if she walks out of the interview with a "decision cannot be made at this time"---that's perfectly normal too.

Ok thank you. So far we have nailed all the paper work, forms, etc. we are taking this appointment to be more boxes checked before the Oath Day.

  4. My wife is given a date and time to appear at out USCIS office.

Show at 0755, no sooner than 30 mins.prior to that time. She will be tested on knowledge of the US, reading , writing, speaking English. She needs to take marriage cert., passport, spouse birth cert, green card, etc.

Is this part of the process leading to taking the oath? Or is the oat given on this day?

  5. My wife is the petitioner. I am US husband. She is within 90 days of her Green Card (i551) expiring. Since we got married her son has arrived from foreign country on a K-2 Visa, he followed her within 1 year. We also have a new baby together. I have a few question about completing the i751.

    On Part 4.

Relationship 1.a. She needs to X that box correct?

2.a. And 2.b. Is this her name or my name?

Part 5. Does she list her son who came here on the K-2 visa ? Obviously she will list our new baby here also.

    Any other info is appreciated.

  6.

USCIS is requesting for me to submit a copy of 797 Visa Approval Letter for my step son.

He is 10 and has been in USA for almost 1 year now. (11.5 months). All documents have been submitted and process is going well but I am not exactly sure of what the 797 visa approval letter is.

He did receive a 797 stating employment authorization with valid dates on it. Do you think that is what USCIS is asking for?

I can not seem to locate a specific 797 stating visa approval.

  7. Disappointing to hear this.

Follow instructions, if your not good at it (which seems to be the case) then have someone who has done this before help you.

It was a first time for many of us here and we got through it.

Lawyers are very expensive and my experience with them is " don't get one " was extremely a big rip off for me because I ended up doing all the work myself anyway. They make mistakes.

Do exactly what your RFE or NOA is asking you to do.

Ask questions on this forum. You will get correct straight answers.

When you receive the letter in the mail put a post on VJ stating what USCIS is asking for.

Use all your resources especially VJ.

Recently I received a NOA and they had made a mistake by asking me for correct payment. There was no charge for the form I had submitted, so I responded and they corrected everything.

    Good Luck

  8. This topic has really taken a turn in different direction. Many of the posts are not about the original topic. I mean the weather is even being blamed.

If I use VJ for life critical posts, questions, etc. I will be on the site looking for answers constantly. Let's hope she can get answers from us.

fyi, I highly doubt that an inspector would ask when are you getting married. Something is very strange about this. Most people are coming of a flight that has been many many hours. They have been approved and authorized to come the USA. CBP already knows that. I can't imagine that question being asked followed by a person being rejected. Unless something else took place and we don't have the entire story.

Just my input. I've traveled many many times internationally and have seen how things work at JFK.

  9. There is an email address, if someone wants to entertain themselves.

JulieinMD or whatever the profile is, that person is not responding or doesn't care at all anyway.

i hope this web site does not begin going in that direction. A Mod. Should Investigate and clean up these posts.

within the past 2 yrs I got a k-1 and k-2 here. Could not have do it without VJ.

That's correct. Now I am doing my sons (wife's kid) AOS. I went through the process of getting him a visa etc.

I don't think there is a way for me to add this to timeline. As a matter of fact, there are also others items that could not be added on my time line.
