  1. Thanks!

    Update:

So not really any "helpful" info but at least i got something new...apparently mine had to go out for extra security checks (not sure why, maybe randomly selected...they couldn't give any details) and that took place from Jan until June 16th...as of June 16th my case was back in the processing pool with no issues. That was all the info i received.

I then called USCIS after and asked for a tier 2...she looked and was able to see that as of appx 3:25pm yesterday someone started working on my case...of course i got the normal, "please wait at least 15 days before calling back" spiel, but at least its information...

so overall nothing GOOD, but at least nothing bad yet...here's to hoping this processing doesn't lead to an RFA :o

that is good, at least now you are sure that it is being seen by someone. I hope you hear something soon.

For some reason, I never get a Tier 2 officer to tell me anything about my case ( when now they can all tell me that it is in pause because of the RFE -_- )

  2. Congrats! How did you find the right congressman to contact? My fiancé is from VA. Is it just a case of googling the ones in his area and sending them emails?

Thank you! (We've been waiting since Dec 11 and its hard thinking we are getting nowhere)

    Hello :)

Yes, all he needs to do is google who is the congressman/senator in his area and contact them. there should be information on their website about how to go for them to put inquiries on his behalf. Good luck.

I am still waiting for my No2 as well, from Dec 1.

  3. OCT, NOV and DEC seem to all be hanging out here. SEPs are suffering in silence right now and taking a break from VJ, from the looks of it. Last I looked someone was still waiting, which on top of being horrible for them also freaks me out :-(

I dont have access to the immifairy data, so I could be wrong (I think that would just depress me even further), but from the looks of it they seem to have mostly moved on to January and beyond. And here I feel like poking them with a glow stick and yell "We are still here too" in their ears. NOV 10 as of May 31, yeah right, thats just wrong more than one way.

That is all very unfair. All I would like to know if Why? Why the backlog? Why taking so long to get to the cases?

  4. lol. I am too.

My fiance is not. He is the USC, so he has to be. So I am nudging him. Not daily, but at least weekly or twice a week. Even that is hard for him, but what else can we do? We know they put inquiries in, so they did *something* with it, but they havent gotten an answer yet.

Apparently we are in background checks right now, which can mean a lot of things, but at least it´s something, because I was really starting to think they lost it completely.

Thank you for your good wishes - I started hanging out in November, because October is kind of dead and empty ;-) I think we might be pretty much one of the last active couples still waiting

I am a December filer (december 1) and even the December thread is pretty much quiet lol . Is there anyone else in this thread still waiting for NO2??

  5. Thank you :-)

still waiting. 292 days, no RFE, no nothing. He will go to Infopass next week, lets see if it does anything... If they keep going this way we´ll set a new record :-D

I wish I knew what to do to get someone to go find out where it is... senators, congresspeople, USCIS - everyone is very unresponsive

Good luck with your RFE, I hope it gets there fast and is easily fixed :-)

    Hi Mena,

did you guys follow up with both senators and congressman. ( Im the type of person that will call everyday until I hear something from them lol) I really hope something happen soon for you, I know how heartbreaking it is. Keep us posted :)

  6. I know your pain. This is the same thing that happened to us.. waited all that time, just to receive an RFE. Not what we were expecting. I will say, from the time I got the text it was only about 4 days later, the actual notice came in the mail. (I do also live in TX, where the notice originated, so maybe that helped time wise.) I sent all the needed info back in within a week or so, and three days later, they messaged me that they received it. It is now only been almost two weeks since then (July 23rd), but I am hoping to get a response back within 30 days. Will keep you posted on how long it actually takes... Everything is "hurry up and wait"!!

thanks, that makes feel much better. I made my piece with the whole process and trying to be patient. I am still waiting for the RFE in the mail. What was your RFE about if you don't mind me asking? I really don't know what mine could be about

  7. Hi all,

    quick question:

Today a tier 2 officer said the case left security clearance on JULY 14, 2015 and that it is now back to processing. Should we expect our NOA 2 soon?

Case was received on December 18 (we are about to hit the 8th months) so, you can imagine how desperate we are. :/

I completely understand. My No1 is december 1 and passed 8 months by a couple of days now. Received an RFE after 7 months of waiting on July 29 (still waiting for it in the mail, as no one can tell me wat it is when I call, even after I made an infopass) so no say as to when we will finally receive No2. Might be any day for u :)

  8. Yeah, MA.

That was my original question - if anybody had tried to schedule an appointment for out of their jurisdiction. Because it asks for your home zip code and putting a wrong one is like lying to USCIS which I dont want to do lol.

Also our inquiries arent that old yet, so we didnt want to schedule an appointment and then be told that we are not outside of the answering time yet (45 days after inquiry was filed). Makes you feel even more defeated. They just opened our MA office back up to make it possible to schedule something, but I´d have to ask my fiance about the date he chose.

You got approved recently, right? Congrats!

I think you can still get an infopass to know wats going on with your case. Plus you never know, maybe you will receive an approval tonight God willing :)

  9. They probably wont tell you, sorry to say, waiting4areason... at least thats what I have heard others say. Also that it tends to take around 2 weeks (+/-) to get the paper letter in the mail. Then you send it back and another month or so to get NOA2 :-(

I feel you pain, we are at 287 freaking days and counting and actually kind of expecting an RFE because we did not include the intent to get married letters. It sucks big time.

Random question - When booking an INFOPASS appointment, did you guys need the A-numbers? Because I dont have it and I dont know where to get it either.

Thanks Mena, I am sorry this happens to you. You are out of normal processing times now. Did you open inquiries?

When you book the info pass, all you need I think is your phone number, the rest of the info is optional. I hope they will be able to at leas tell you what is going on with your application.

  10. Usually it gets to you in about a week. How long did it take for you to get your noa1 hard copy? It will probably take as much time.

They usually respond in about 2 weeks, but can be longer, there's no exact timing.

    Good luck!

Thanks, I am hoping to get it by tomorrow, although it is not likely, I am just beyond impatient at this point. After 8 months of waiting already at TSC!!

  11. still nothing here...at this point i'm not even going to bother calling and asking about another inquiry...i have no faith that a 3rd would do anything and i've got an infopass appt on Aug 6th...just have to try to be patient...

Have you tried contacting congressman or senator's office? I think you will be out of normal processing times soon so you should be able to do an inquiry based on that. Unfortunately, there really is no words that could make our situation better :clock: Only time can....

  12. I'm sorry to hear that. Would you consider setting up an InfoPass appointment to see if they can give you any insight? If you are able, perhaps by suggesting to the ISO that by waiting another 2 weeks to receive the information, it further prolongs the approval of your application, when if they can give you the information now, you can remedy the situation and not have to wait another month or so.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try. If I go will they tell me? have they told anyone before? It would be such a blessing if I didn't have to wait a whole another month.

  13. so after 240 days I finally received a text regarding my case, I was so excited thinking its an approval, I almost scream at work....to my disappointment, its an RFE!! I am wrecking my brain trying to figure out what they could want! I called and they cannot tell me :( so basically I have to wait about 2 weeks to receive. How long do they take to approve cases after RFE?? I was so careful , I did not expect to get one :crying::cry:

  14. Hi Everyone, we recently got approved. My fiance lives in Haiti and I provided his mailing address so he could recieve the documents that would be sent to him. However where he lives the mailing system is not so good and his neighbors in his yard are very jealous he as an american woman and may take his package when it recives and not give it to him. He works at the airpot 9-5 so comes home after 6. My question is can I change his mailing address to mine and I can be the one that recieves his package ?

If you are worried about paket 3,which are the instructions for the interview, you can email the Embassy in Port-au Prince to send it to you via email. It will be quicker and your fiance won't have to wait weeks to receive it. Good luck

  15. Just want to share some news! I got a call from my Senators office! They received an email from the TSC saying that they approved my application on the 28th (today), and will be sending my forms to the Department of State in 14 days! The office sent me the e-mail they RECEIVED :) . My status has not yet been updated on the USCIS website. You think it will take a day or so? YAY!

Oh wow, that is great news!! Congratulations :)

  16. Hello, have you tried calling USCIS, base on your time line you should be able to call them.

Calling them does not do anything, all they say is to keep waiting and that I am still "within processing time". Also the timeline in VJ is just an estimate. The processing times are still at November 10 on USCIS website. But no worries, I will keep waiting like everyone else, because I have no other choice right now
