I am a firm believer in 2 things... No risk.. no reward and anything worth having is worth fighting for. True this process is challenging. That coupled with the distance in a relationship can be taxing. Trying to hold a relationship together when you aren't allowed to do "normal" things a couple does is challenging. Myself regret each night that I have to come home and he is not there waiting for me or vice versa. I go to parties with my friends and their husbands and feel out of place or resent the fact that he is not here and even question.. why is he not here. But as someone mentioned above... Remember why you started the process in the first place. It is exactly the same as a marriage where you have to work at it to get where you want to be with that person. Only thing is the distance and of course the process. I am thankful that they even have a system in place that allows us to bring over our loved ones. What if it was just NO they cant come at all? certainly that would put a damper on things. The system is far from perfect and it is really difficult when you have to justify your love to strangers for your fiancé. I am sure there are a lot of moving parts in the system that I do not understand, but one thing I do understand is that I remain grateful.. for even having the opportunity to bring him here to live. I get frustrated and empathize with you. I would suggest doing some soul-searching on how important this is to you and ask her how important is it for you to be together. Try to converse about your future together instead of the VISA process, for one.. you cant change it and you have no control over it. the important thing is to not let it have control over YOU and determine your relationship. If it is worth it to you fight to keep your relationship together. Im not saying that I have not questioned this process or had a regret or three with RFE's , time away and now as close as I am the Visa issue... But we are powerless over the system and I refuse to give them power over me and my future husband. I wish you luck and strength to continue in your journey. It is not wrong.. how you are feeling. what would be wrong is to let them win. One less application they have to worry about. Who will fight for your relationship if you don't. USCIS, NVC, the Embassy? I think not. this is your journey and your decision to figure out if it is worth it to you.
I feel your pain... best of luck to you.

I have been monitoring the forums for awhile and thank you to everyone for your helpful information. This is my first time posting.
My finance and I have been engaged for 6 months prior to filing for her VISA. I am in the USA and she is in the Philippines. We recently received our NOA2 and waiting on our case number. However we have not seen each other in 2 months and all of the stress of the visa process is really straining our relationship. We went from talking hours every day to now just a couple messages a day and it is seems the only thing we are discussing is the screwed up VISA process. Almost every night I think about just giving up on this process and withdrawing the petition. I seriously dislike the US government for what it is doing with all this visa nonsense to be with someone you love when there are 10 million illegals already in the country !

I am so confused right now.... Has anyone else felt this way or their relationship started fall apart during the visa process as I am really starting to wonder if it is really worth it and what have I gotten myself into... Anyone who has been through this and willing to share some experiences or advise would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

Thanks for the info and glad to know I am not alone ... I totally agree with you about the stress level, this is worse for me then the USCIS process because at least with USCIS they had a website that worked (well most of the time) and IGOR'S list gave you an idea what was being processed so there was some feedback. I am seriously so over this VISA journey !!!

@Amhara thank you for clarifying.... I called the USCIS after posting and the agent was not sure if the website updates either and said it could take 90 days for the USCIS to send the approved petition to the NVC but I don't think she knew what she was talking about. Checking the timelines on VJ it appears to be a 2-3 week wait for a case number after NOA2 ...
    Thanks again !

Actually, TSC updates the USCIS info, but CSC does not update. Since you are CSC, you won't know when the petition has been transferred/received by NVC until you call NVC to get the case#.
You will get a letter in the mail from NVC, but some people said that that has taken a long time to get it; although mine came rather timely.

Joining into this thread. Received NOA1 notification April 2nd. 59 days in now. @$%@ me this sucks! I would love to teach a seminar to the USCIS on proper customer service and keeping your clients updated as to their status. For Gods sake, we are in such a technological age where information is instantaneous. In fact I'm face timing with my honey in Beijing right now. AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

Day ~45 and no news, morale is low, supplies are lower. Send help!
If I've learned anything from this, it's that I would NOT do this for a Klondike bar.
Hoping for good news for everyone here today! It's great to feel part of a community where people actually understand, and I really do wish everyone the best throughout this process!

One of the things that really gets me - and I haven't really seen much about it on this particular thread - is the fact that people going through Texas have to wait so long. While I was expecting to go through Texas, we made arrangements to see each other based off the fact that we were going to have to wait 6-9 months if everything went through on time.
So when we got routed to CSC, it was a big surprise and we were so excited to only have to wait a fraction of the time. So then we decided to save our money and not have any visits between US/Brazil until the visa process was over. There's a lot of posts I see on this site saying "at least you don't have to go through Texas", and as much as I hate to say it, they went into the process expecting the wait. It really does suck expecting a certain amount of time, and then waiting longer, and longer, and then just sort of giving up on waiting for the text or email.
We have drones, cell phones that we can talk face-to-face with people on the other side of the world, we've put people on the moon, but we don't have a way to track a couple pieces of paper throughout an office. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to bring my fiancee here, but I feel that the lack of updates and tracking and the phone calls that lead to "just keep waiting" take advantage of our desperation to be together sometimes.
    Just my late night thoughts!

I agree with Jawaree about the whole bias thing. I've seen people helping some from European countries circumvent the immigration wait time by coming over on the visa waiver and no one went all " It's ILLEGAL BLAH BLAH" but someone asking something fairly legal from a South Asian country, people were all like " IT'S ILLEGAL BLAH BLAH". Seriously? And the moderators did nothing.
Also, information isn't all that "accurate". I was given a nasty reply about some A number issue from a so called "old timer" but all she did was repeat what was fed to her on this site over and over again and not that she actually "KNEW" from experience or knowledge that what she said was true. She routinely would attack people from South Asia and give them wrong information and turn around and say something completely different on another thread.
That should make people wary because people come on here to either a) vent or b) actually ask for legitimate immigration questions. Thanks to that VJ person, I who was pregnant and vomiting, was even more stressed out. Thanks for nothing. It all worked out but whatever.

I agree with you Becca! I *try* not to sound negative with my posts, because I know at the end of the day all the SCs are just doing their jobs. It's just hard when we have so much invested (emotion, time, money). It's really hard to think of how things are on their end, when all we care about is the outcome of our process. I don't even think it's so much the SCs that are the problem...but the guidelines that are set by the government. As mentioned in the earlier post...this whole process really could probably take place at the consulate since they go through everything again (well, they're supposed to lol) and ultimately make the decision anyway. I just think it's a lot of extra steps that have to be taken for something that's decided so quickly. But, what can we do? haha, I just know that all of this is going to be worth it, so in the mean time, I *try* to wait patiently...and by wait patiently...I actually mean: check USCIS 30 times a day haha!
    Thanks for the birthday wishes!

    woooohooo! happy belated, David!

Thanks Myrie! And to you also! haha lucky!! I WISH I was only turning 27! Enjoy it...those 3 years will FLY BY! (except for the time waiting for the visa, of course LOL)

    Potions? Petitions?
While I agree that there are some unfair practices in processing petitions (specifically its not a first come, first served basis process), most of the time, Philippine petitions get expedited because of natural disasters. Filipinos don't wish for their houses to be ruined or family members to suffer because of typhoons right?
I am totally agreeing with you that they should have a better way of handling petitions. I have also seen people who filed after me get approved before me, and I agree that it is infuriating. If you really believe there are some irregularities and your friend in USCIS is willing to go on the record about this, then report this. Make it an equal playing field for all of us.
I hope you dont take it out on Filipinos who are trying to get to USA via the legal route. We are all at the mercy of USCIS and all of us go through the same process, fill out the same requirements, and equally stress about being away from our loved ones.

We actually used Rapidvisa with their premium review.. Much cheaper then a lawyer and provides some piece of mind that everything was done correctly, The other advantage they have an office in both countries we could visit.... They actually caught a few minor problems with our paperwork and assembled the packet for us along with guiding us through what evidence to send so the 400 bucks or so it cost was worth it to us given how stressful this process is already.

    Hi guys,
Not to rain on the parade, but is anybody else secretly fearing that CSC's been slowing down? The VJ estimates keep getting pushed back slightly, and that's what I assume would happen when you take *all* of K1 visas (used to be processed in 3 centers) and start putting them in 1 place.
I know it shouldn't affect us the April filers too much (after all, no backlog as of now), but it's been something on the back of my mind.
I know I should take the guessing game out of the equation and sit and wait patiently, but just curious.

Maybe someone knows if they batch up sending out the NOA2 like they do the NOA1 ? Being optimistic and assuming that is the case perhaps you may receive it Friday.... Let's hope !
