  1. Finally! Some good news! After 98 and 96 days (Since I got 2 notifications that my case was transferred but I only got 1 hard copy - 04th February 19),  of being transferred to Nebraska from CSC, I woke up to this! And to some, no I did not file for N-400 yet.

Thus this brings me to my next question. We are going on a trip in Mid August.  Do you guys think I have ample time to do the biometrics, if I submit my application between end of May/ first week of June?

P.S. To those still in limbo, hang in there, you'll get it soon enough. And @starsky Thank you so much for  what you've done in this group

My turn has come! :energy: I received a notification at 5.30pm CST yesterday that my card is in production and approved. It was such a relief to see the notification come in. I received a text first, then an email about 30 minutes later. The old app shows the update but the new one just continues to show the case as received. As a reminder, I was one of those 7 filers (that we know about) who was at California and transferred to Nebraska in February. Over 75 days of silence until yesterday.

I hope we get a few more approvals for our group this week and the next! Good luck everybody. Of course, I will stick around and maintain our tracking table.

@starsky - that is good news! Congratulations! Hopefully the rest of us would follow soon 😁😁

I was transferred on Feb 4. Earlier today I got the generic email that they are still reviewing my case so I was extremely surprised when I got the second update.

    I am WAC180925, 30 ahead

    @starsky

I am 180915, how many ahead.does that make me?  I never understood the Case Tracker method, as discussed before. I always check the Case Tracker app though, there were cases approved before me, there were cases approved after me in my 500 search list for all the Removal conditions. 😓😓

Just a moment ago, I received a text and email to say a new processing action was taken on my case. The email reads as below, but when I log-in to the OLD interface the same case transferred message appears (except Feb 4 is now Feb 6). The last updated date is today 2/27 rather than 2/4 as before. I am assuming that this simply means someone from USCIS touched my files, perhaps even transferred the case again, but as far as I know, my case is still in NBC after the first transfer on 02/04, despite it saying 2/6 as below.

Has anyone else had a similar notification? Or does anyone know what this may mean?

@starskyI received one early this afternoon too. The original date my case was transfered was Feb 4. Today, I received an email, text and from what was shown in the Case Tracker App that My case was moved again  but the date is now Feb 6. So I don't know if it's a glitch. But I do hope that we get some movement soon.

I think we were the few ones that got into the unlucky basket from WAC, as those who have filed either before us, or after us, have had some movement in their cases 😢😢😢

  5. Great. I'm originally from CSC and their processing time is from 15-19.5 months. Right now they are working on July 2017 applicants. I just got the mail today that my case was transferred to Nebraska, and their processing times are even longer. 15-23.5 months and they are only working on May 2017 applicants. This is just so unfaair! I don't know whatever logic they are going through, but to prolong other people's anxiety, anguish... grrrr.. Sorry .. just had to vent.

I went to walmart today for job orientation and I was told  they don’t recognize the letter so I should leave and they will call me back, because they have to verify the extension letter or I should go and wait till I get the card.

Explained myself and explained everything but still, I show them my drivers license which is not expired, still they said they will call me back.

    Am comfuse.

Did you show them your expired greencard and the extension letter? I also transfered jobs just about a month ago. They also told me that they don't know about that, I told them that I can't help it the CSC is so slow. That's what the extension letter is for. They just photocopied my greencard and the letter then sent it to whatever department that screens new employees

ahhh that's why yours was different 😁 makes sense now ...  nearly all of us came from the  K1/CR1 visa. We started in the K1 / CR1 forums, and then AOS, and now 2 years later here again, and next year we will be seeing each other for the naturalization process 😁😁 Conratulations on your GC

@starsky The only thing I can find online is the appointment letter and some form of photo ID.

That's the only thing you need, the green card, the appointment letter, and a valid government issued ID to verify. During those days when we were applying for the greencard, I didn't have a driver's license yet, and my passport was expired as well, I just applied for a State Identification card which you can get at the DMV that way you'll have a government issued ID.

I actually think that is a pretty good theory. To test it, perhaps we could ask a few of those who do have scheduled biometrics appointments if they have been out of the US since they entered on their original visa?

When I saw the original post, I was going to say that I haven't left the US, and then I remembered that I did leave the US when my hubby and I had our church wedding in the Philippines, and when we went on our cruise about a year and a half ago.  So this theory might be plausible.

I do have a question though, since most of us February filers are getting our biometrics already (or lack of 😂😂), so does this mean that we are just waiting for the actual10 year green card? and then apply for our citizenship  early next year?

  10. Yey! I've received my biometrics as well! Or should I say my non-appearance for biometrics appointment as they will be using my old prints as well. At this point, like most CSC filers, I don't mind that we are practically giving out extra money to  the USCIS . I just want to get this over and done with! Plus not to mention, immigration always has a hard time getting my prints. The last time it took me about 15 minutes... on one hand alone! 😂😂😂..

Just in case @starsky would want to include me in your table, I filed my I-797 Feb. 6, they received it Feb 08, and I received my NOA dated Feb.09, received it Feb. 12.

    Hi,

I moved here in the US (Maui, HI) from the Philippines with my parents 6 months ago and until now I don't really know what to do to get into the field that I wanted. I graduated in college with a Bachelor's Degree of Computer Science and I've already worked professionally for almost 4 years back there. I've tried searching all over the internet on the job that I wanted on this state but there's no luck.  Currently, I'm working in a restaurant as a Bus-help because this job gives more money but honestly speaking I don't really liked it.

Any advice if should I study again or Can I possibly work on the same field even if I didn't get my degree here in the US?

    Thanks in advance!

If you've already been granted a greencard then you won't have any problems looking for work, as long as you are qualified for it.  Have you tried checking job sites. All job sites I've seen have always included all criteria needed. It would just depend on your qualifications for it.

My bio appt is on March 27th.

I think those 2 different numbers are the application/petition/request number which starts with EAC then the other number is your uscis number or A#.

I believe the @LinaHugo was asking for the receipt number. Our NOA1 receipt number starts with WAC (Not EAC - EAC was when we were applying for our GC). From reading other links, I gathered it was supposed to start with CRI but others' (from Dec and Jan filers) receipt number didn't change.

  13. Oops sorry, it didn't say that we will be sending your green card, it did say that we will be sending your APPROVAL NOTICE soon... In my excitement, I misses the word approval notice. :D .. In this day and age, wherein I've learned that TIME and TO WAIT is of the essence, I do so hope that I still will go and get my green card soon. :D

I've received a text message this afternoon, from USCIS that my case status had been updated. Last friday, it was changed from "we've received your fingerprint fee... yada.. yada.." to "we've updated your name change..". This afternoon, my USCIS case status had been changed again into "We've approved your case and will be sending your green card ... yada.. yada.."

I got the NPIW last November. So for those in the same waiting boat as I am.. just wait a few bit more.. your greencards will be coming soon.

FYI: my USCIS Field Office is in San Fernando Valley. And when I checked their procesing time, they were working on July 29 but it was dated March 2016. So basically, they should have been working on my case a few weeks back. My advice is to check your current field offices as well to know if your field office has a backlog (like mine). And yes, I too, have an MSC starting case status number. Even if it is Missouri service center, I was told that they (MSC and local field offices) do work hand in hand. Good luck everybody. :D

  15. We filed beginning of July and status is still saying they received application in July. Any people still waiting?

Hi Pishi Pishi, I filed last week of July. Up until yesterday my case status said the same as yours, "we accepted the fingerprint fee.. yada.. yada.. yada". This morning I received an email saying that my name was updated. My case number also starts with MSC. But I also keep checking the USCIS field office near me which is San Fernando Valley, and they are currently working on July-August 2015 filers.

Hope the rest of us July filers would receive our greencards soon. Fingers crossed.

  16. Your experience sounds exactly like my husband's except instead of dental problems, he's having back problems.

He is doing chores all day

Then on the weekends we try to do as much fun stuff as we can. He's getting lonely now.

Awww.. bless his heart. I came here last June and had been adjusting just averagely. I have finally stopped looking for supplies similar to the UK grocers brand that I use , with the same price lol. I've relagated myself to being domesticated and found the chef in me :D (well my husband says so). Love the weather now in Cali compared to when I came here last summer as it was scorching hot.

Tell your hubby it will get better soon especially once he's got his EAD. I have already started my driving lessons, and have also enrolled in yoga classes which I enjoy more now ( as I've got more time for it). We were lucky though that one opened in the mall near our flat which is about 10-20 minutes away on foot.

We got our biometrics appointment letters today for Monday a week. Less notice than I expected, especially with the holiday weekend coming up. Is it worth trying for a walk in appointment? They have picked the one day that we can't get there (what are the odds?!!) I don't know if there is time to mail back a request for a new appointment without it looking like we missed the scheduled one.

Also, now that I have receipt notices from USCIS with my married surname, could I use these to change my Social Security card into my married name, or should I save the hassle and wait for the EAD to arrive?

You can try scheduling for an infopass. It varies per USCIS office (especially if the one you have is busy ). I had tried going to the SS office once I had the notification for my EAD, but they still wouldn't change my name to my married name, as I didn't have the EAD card, so my SS name remained in my maiden name until a few weeks ago. It only took 5 days until I received my new SS card. This is in California though.

Our interview is next week. I'm nervous, but I can't explain why. I know everything will be okay, but dang... I freak out easily.

Good luck to you :D I have to wait more, as I've received my NPIW letter last Friday. boohoo.

  17. Hi all,

I filed my AOS July 1st and I have not heard anything about interview being waived or scheduled yet :clock: . Most of people who filed with me got either their interview or their interview was waived. What should I do? :crying:

You can try filing for a service request, and give them a call. I filed last week of July. I didn't had my biometrics until 2 service requests later. I was only able to get my biometrics done October and November ( I had 2 biometrics). Those who had filed after me (August and September filers) had their biometrics earlier. But nevertheless, last Friday, I received a letter stating that my interview might be potentially waived.

So my advice would be try calling them and inquire about it. There's probably nothing that they can do of course, but you may be able to get some answers from your queries. Best of luck

  18. Feeling fed up with bureaucratic nonsense right now. Went to take my driving test today and I passed (woohoo!) but because my I-94 has expired I need to go to a S.A.V.E office in person near Denver and get my status confirmed. The letter might take 2-6 weeks to get mailed to me, however someone in a thread I found actually managed to get their licence on the same day they went to the SAVE office. If the letter is mailed to me then I will have to take the test AGAIN if it's 60 days after my test today.

Hi Shana :) I just finished the written part of my driving test today ( I passed!!Yey!!) They never asked me for my I94. We just waited until I've received my EAD card, and that was what I presented them with when asked for evidence of my legal stay here.

I have to say though, about 2 months ago, we went to the DMV thinking I could take the test, but they did just tell us that since I only have about 3-4 weeks left in my I94, I have to wait until I have further evidence stating that I can legally stay in the US, then I can start my application for a DL. Hope you get this sorted soon.

  19. Received a letter requesting for another biometric appointmentas they've had problems with my first apparently. I'm one of those who are hard to fingerprint. I blame it on sweaty hands. That's funny though, since I've already received my EAD/AP combo card, and on my card, my fingerprint is there as well. Anyways, I'll need to sort this out first. I'm so sad. Anyways, hope that when this gets resolved the week after next, I get to hear something uplifting from the USCIS regarding my AOS.
