  1. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, did not get transferred to the CSC, and it took 3 months for me to get my EAD (just received it today! :) ). I had my AOS interview yesterday... so if everything goes well, I should be getting my Green Card in a couple of weeks.

Was the EAD application worth it? Well... if I'd known the exact dates of everything beforehand, no. But no one knows for certain what will happen with your applications, so applying for AP/EAD can set your mind at ease somewhat until you get your Green Card.

I live in the Bay Area too, and my case isn't forwarded anywhere... I got an interview date for AOS this MArch.. So I'm guessing we'll have the same timeframe. At least now I know when to expect my EAD.. which is kinda not worth it eh...

  2. My 2 friends, (one from Tennessee the other from kentucky) their cases were forwarded to CA. The first one already got her Greencard in a span of 1MONTH AND A HALF!! :o The one from kentucky, well, i'm assuming she'll undergo the same thing. But I, on the other hand, didn't receive any notice that my case is being forwarded to anywhere. Instead, I got a notice for interview this march. I live in Cali by the way. So I guess, to each his own?

  3. Thanks!! At least somethin's moving ayt hanster?:)

ohh that's true. it is sad, but ever since i mailed my application, i would check my bank account online everyday to see if they have been cashed. i guess once i get the NOS, i will be checking my case online on the USCIS website.

good luck to both of us djcess

That's exactly what you're gonna be doin'... i did too.. and it's addictive i tell ya! And oh, you'll be refreshing / clicking "view new posts" here in VJ for quite some time ;) good luck and never give up!

  4. I was all alone on 2006 because obviously dj and I still had the long distance thing. I was just trying to let each day pass and hoped soon we'll be together again.. which we did by september! But now I realized, it was not just a good year, actually very good because I had my family, my bestfriend, my shih tsu poo MATET and the whole time I was surrounded with love. I just wished I treasured every moment of it. Oh, and I love my bestfriend (right there below at the most bottom) so much we've been friends since fourth grade and she came with me in the US for my wedding and now it's only 2 months left she has to go back home.. I guess the world is fair isn't it? It gives you what you want, but you have to give the world something back.... sucks big time.

  5. Problem solved  after calling about 15 civil surgeons we found one who is willing to do it for 25$

Good! Encountered same problem @ redwood city so i searched more civil surgeons and I found one in SFO who made me pay 60 (expensive yes because of location) but didnt make me do everything again but just copied what I had.) . I cant imagine paying $165 for nothing... not to mention the pain is crazy!

  6. ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS TO PERMANENT LEGAL RESIDENT IMPORTANT THINGS YOU MUST KNOW :

"There is no "90 day" adjustment filing requirement. One must marry before the I-94/K1 Visa expires, but the adjustment of status package can be submitted well after the I-94 Expires without any problem with USCIS.The downside of filing late, however is that the immigrant status is only "PENDING" with no particular legal rights. But he/she will not be deported for a LATE FILING." START OF AOS : First thing is get married within 90 days of your arrival in the US, if came here using K1 Visa .

Thanks! I appreciate your answer rhia.:)

  7. Hi all

I just checked the USCIS tracking on our Fiance' Visa it said

Appication type: 1765 application employment authorization

on Oct 2 noticE was sent for approval of your application for employment

I just went back there a few minutes ago now it's saying I129F Petition For Fiance

    Which is correct

Is this normal procedure we didn't apply for a work application

    Thanks Allie

I wish that was my I-765 being approved hahaha! Sorry, i havent encountered that problem yet. Someone might give a better answer.:)

  8. Hi! I came here on a fiance visa. I am so confused with all the information i'm receiving with adjustment of status. Correct me if I'm wrong in these areas:

    a) I prepared all the paperworks for AOS in this forum. With all of my readings from the past I assume that the AOS approval would take almost 2 years, you first need to be interviewed and submit all supporting documents that you're a couple, and then you will receive your greencard. That's why we need to submit the I-765 EAD inorder to work legally in the US (cause ithe EAD will be approved earlier 2-3 months?) That way, while waiting for your AOS to be approved, you can get a job.

    B) From other sources as well, EAD is an option. If I submit my AOS it would be approved in 3-4 months and NOT 2 years? By then, I would get my greencard in 4 months. SO If i want to work within the 4 months of waiting, I should file EAD and pay $180.

    * Which of the above is correct? a or b?

    * Assuming B is correct, what happens after i get my greencard?

-What will the future interview for?

-How will I know that I will have an interview coming? Will they give me another case number?

*What will my current status be?

I do hope somebody can help me out, my mind is so messed up right now and any advice from you guys would be highly appreciated.
