  1. Theara, when your case goes to AP the CO generally will not provide you with any information other than the fact that your case is is AP. AP is a refusal under 221g which means that it is being refused because your case needs further processing or more documentation. Usually most AP refusals are turned over and a visa is issued. You just have to be patient. AP can last days, weeks, months or years. Hopefully no ones AP will last long. Just keep praying and your visa will be issued soon. If your case is being updated that is always a good thing. It means that they are actually taking time to look at your case. Hopefully we will all have visa issued soon. Just track your case and be posititve :)

  2. Advocate...Unfortunately the CO officer told you correct. Once your case goes to AP it could take days, weeks, months or even years. My husbands interview on June 4, 2015 and he has been in AP since then. They asked him for additional documentation. They received everything within 2 weeks but we are still waiting. Just have patience and Inshallah you will get visa soon. Just keep praying :)

  3. Naju, since everything went ok with the interview it will probably take about 30-60 days, since all they requested was an updated medical. But just know that once the AP process starts it could take, days, weeks, months or even years. I don't want to give any false hope. But Inshallah it will not take to long and your hubby will have visa in hand soon :)

Adel, it is always good when your status date changes, it usually means they are working on your case, so if you are seeing updates every week, definitely take that as a good sign :)

  4. Good Morning all,

So, there was finally an update on my husbands case today. Last update was June 23. I'm not sure if they are actually working on his case though. I sent an email last Monday but got no response to the email. Today it has been 1 week since I sent that email, but still no response. Also, today it has been exactly 2 months since the embassy recieved all the requested documents.

Has this happened to anyone before?

  5. Salam to All VJ friends its been about four months since I last posted. I was on a trip to Pakistan to spend time with my husband. Alhumdillah we had a great time togathr I was stress free and away from AP worries. I performed Umrah with him and it was a life experience for both of us. I am back home without him. Through out these months we had no updates from embassy except when I emailed them. It is quit sad. I however did find out that embassy of Islamabad often can not do much individuals like myself who have been in Ap for over 2.5 years our cases are not at the embasssy their in Washington for back ground checks, embassy really cant do much thats the main reason we dont get updates. Lets pray to get out of this dark hole soon. In my neighborhood three long AP visas were issued. One was about 3.5 years and the other one was 3 years and 8 months.

Do you know why you were placed on AP? Are you USC or green card holder?
