  1. Got an email confirming receipt two days after submitting and now six days after submitting I got my 3rd N/A on the ceac site, is it possible I am already at case complete? Seems crazy fast, but everyone seems to say 3 N/As is a case complete. My case is pretty straight forward, married six years, meet financial requirements without sponsor. Seems like it would be record time.

  2. I see a lot of old posts about opting in to electronic processing, but see nothing in my instructions that I need to opt in. My consulate (RDJ) allows it and it seems like I can just email documents straight to the NVCelectronic email address. Is this true? Anyone with experience? I emailed it in like that after paying both fees and completing my DS-260, will I hear any confirmation from them that they received my documents? Thanks!

  3. I both translated myself and signed it myself and my I-130 was approved. That isn't to say it is the right way to do it, but it worked for me. In the NVC phase at least in my country you don't need to translate anything that is in the country you are apply from's language.

  4. Wait a minute, how did you get around not paying taxes? As far as I know, even if you work abroad and you don't get a W2, you still need to file your income with a 1099. Or have I been paying my taxes all these years for nothing? Did you get it officially exempt or did you just say you didn't have any income?

Foreign Exclusion, only pay taxes on money made over something like $96,000

  5. I am in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro Consulate) and as such have the option to go mail or electronic with my AOS and IV packages. Seems like there are some old posts about mail being faster, but I haven't found many recent posts on the topic. It would seem to be most logical that electronic would be quicker, but does anyone have any recent experience or thoughts? Thanks and sorry if this is a repost, but I couldn't find any newish threads on the topic.

  6. Medical exam was easy and fast. I had to do an xray and a syphilis blood test. The only location allowed to do it is the Fleury laboratory close to Ibirapuera park. I drove there from the doctor's office and it's not very close. They both cost me around 260 reais (my health insurance is Sulamerica and it wasn't accepted at Fleury). The doctor's appointment was around 640 reais. The sealed package and xray were ready for me to pick up at the doctor's office in less than a week. Good luck! When is your interview?

Thanks, my wife's health insurance isn't good there either. That is what I was afraid of, seems crazy expensive, but I suppose it's cheaper in reais now than a few months ago with the dollar weakened. Thanks and good luck with the interview!
