would anyone like me to ask Yousuf to make us a list in both Arabic and using English letters up to 100? He won't use those other kind of numerals though because he swears the numbers we use are the real arabic numbers and the others are actually indian :P

edited to say: oh and of course they would be in standard Arabic not in any particular dialect.

  3. Yep. Start making sure you have everything needed for the interview, see where you´ll be taking your medical, how to get the police certificates, and any other requirements. That way you´ll be ready to send packet 3 back pretty much as soon as it arrives.

How do I know where he'll be having his medical? He can get his police cert now it will take him a week to get it and a week to have it translated to English... any particular reason you said certificates? Are there more than one that he should get?

Can you (or anyone else) post a list of everything that you received in packet 3 so we can kind of get a clue as to what we need to track down?

    Thanks

  4. Well as you all know we got our NOA2 this week and today the paper copy in the mail saying our original visa petition has been sent to NVC and should be there for 2 to 4 weeks before it's sent overseas to the embassy....... sooooooo, what shall we do in the meantime? Can anyone list some common things that we could be getting together in order to prepare for the package that he'll be recieving from the embassy and/or things he'll need for his interview? I know he'll need to fill out the forms in the download section and we'll need to get the affidavit of support documents together but what else?? We'd just like to get everything together so when they send out the packet he'll just be able to put everything in order and mail it back the same day!!!! Thanks (F)

    :help:

oh man... i have no idea what she said... lol

You don't know pig latin???? OMG

"Last night after dinner, I tried to teach our children pig latin!!! I think they are too young!!!! Maybe another day!!!!

    :D

I read both the other ones fine though Sarah's was a little hard to figure out at first... I realized it wasn't following the same patter (first and last letters in place) as the first one and that they were backwards BUT then I got further into and she stopped that pattern too and just started jumbling the words up!!! confusing!! but i got it :D

  7. I tried sizing myself from one of those online places too and it was disasterous. I did it just how it says in the guide and when I gave my husband the size he was like..... are you sure love?.... I said YES i did it right!!!! so he bought my ring that size.... funny thing was that it was way off and my ring was WAY too big... we did have it resized in Egypt but it still didn't fit correctly... my fingers swell sometimes so I kept it a little too big and bought a pack of Ring Snuggies when I got back to the states. You can get a pack of 3 or 4 at Claire's Boutique (in any mall in the US) for around $3.50. I would suggest you just get the size she told you (in case she's right) and take a pack of those Ring Snuggies with you (in case she's not right :P ) for a temporary fix until she gets to America and you can then have it fixed here. They're clear soft plastic ... you can't really see them when she's wearing it and they're not uncomfortable. They won't damage the ring and it just snaps on the band on the underside of her finger.

  8. I think this just has to to with how he was raised. In America we have a very open culture.... meaning we are taught from birth to accept just about anything we see. If we didn't grow up our whole lives seeing people making out in public or being forced as children to say please and thank you for everything we probably would feel shy about showing affection in public and not think twice about saying please or thank you for anything.

I'm not very familiar with Hinduism so I don't know how much of it comes from his religion but I do believe that the majority religion in an area does have a huge impact on the culture. I'm pretty sure also that western countries are pretty much the only places where public shows of affection are acceptable.

  9. Our K-1 Petition was approved 4/24 and I got the physical (paper) approval today which says our original petition was sent to NVC. It says that INS is DONE with their part and that any further Qs should be directed to NVC so does that mean I won't get anymore email updates or be able to check the status online anymore now? I have to actually call the number on my approval to ask if NVC has it or not?

  10. I voted yes because, after the last two elections, I believe anything can happen

    Aint that sadly the truth!!!!

Not about a mormon as president (doesn't really make a diff to me) but about anything can happen.... I mean WHY is bush back??? :crying: Do we have a special kind of love for idiots?????

Whoever said they thought it said moron :lol::lol: we already have one of those... we don't need a poll for that!!!! :P

  11. Chestnut Tree (Honesty) -- of unusual stature, impressive,

well-developed sense of justice, fun to be around, a planner, born

diplomat, can be irritated easily, sensitive of others feelings, hard

worker, sometimes acts superior, feels not understood at times, fiercely

family oriented, very loyal in love, physically fit.

Bolded-- those that I don't like to admit

Red-- those that I don't agree with

The rest I think could apply to anyone...

  12. I'm not changing my last name. Like Rahma said, this practice is not in Islam but I actually didn't like this practice even before I became muslim. My personal reason is because it's like transferring ownership of the woman from her father to her husband and it's belitteling (sp?) to women. I like the idea that I have my own identity and I'm not just Mrs. HIM. Besides it never really made much sense to me... my father (as much as I may loathe him at times :P ) is my daddy and getting married does not change that. It also seems a little dishonest to me because I wasn't born into his family so why would I have their name? Unless, like I said, ownership of me has transferred from my family to his which is totally unacceptable to me. :hehe:
