Well.. The fact that the mother said she was proud of her daughter explains very well the reason why the lil girl smokes, drinks and have sex at 11! That's a shame that she didn't act as a mother by talking to her daugther and explains about the dangers of this world! This kind of thing happens all over the world...

Ha! Here in Brazil I personally know about a bizarre case that happened to an ex-neighbour of my family! The GUY was only 11 and made his 18 year-old AUNT pregnant!

Thanks God he didn't smoke of drink heavily at that age, at least!

OK, so I was logging on to share the exciting news that we just recieved an NOA2 today... and then I read about all visa applications being recalled and do not know how this will affect us?? Ho hum....

Don't worry! As the others already explained, you'll be okay and your case will go smooth!

Unless things have changed, they do not enter K-1 visas in the system. You just need to talk to the person and give them your number now and ask for the new case number. At least that is how it worked a year ago. Good Luck.

Actually, It seems they generate a case number in the system... But they don't put this in the automated service system, that's why you can't get it just by calling if you don't talk to an operator!

Anyway, I've seen some cases of people that kept calling and talking to operators and were told everyday that their cases were not there yet.... And in about one month or one month and half after they had received their NOA 2, they had their packet 3 in the mail at home!

So, the way NVC works is simply crazy and maybe we'd better don't try to understand, just to keep calling untill get a response! hehe

I know we have this new law...but also the other news is that i have called the USCIS customer service this morning and asked them what was it and the rep. said she don't know anything about it. I also think all this thing is difficult to understand... But from what I've been reading here in VJ so far, I understood that these IMB refers to those dating websites... So, people that have met over these international dating websites would have their criminal backgrounds investigated in a more accurate way! I think that once they find out the petitioner have any sort of criminal background, they will communicate the beneficiary...

We've been waiting patiently since our 4/17 NOA2 for NVC to receive our case, calling and emailing them regularly. This morning I got an email saying they had received it and was ecstatic! I just called, though, and the woman (who had apparently not had her 'be nice to callers' coffee yet this morning) told me the email only meant it was there but not that it was in her computer. She said it takes another 2-4 weeks to get entered into the system for me to get the alien number and eventually tracking information. If this the case for all visas? I thought K visas went in and out of there so fast they didn't bother putting them in the system?

I need to talk to someone before it leaves NVC because I want to see about transferring it to another consulate. If I should call back and get someone friendlier, someone tell me.

Hmm, this information sounds weird (as most of things in this american immigration service)... If they had received it, it should be in the system and have a case number (that has nothing to do with the Alien number - this one will be useful for the AOS process and you have already received this with your receipt number NOA 1)...

Anyway, if it didn't generate a case number yet... Just keep calling because they can generate this number any time soon!

Hellow all. My case was approved on the May 1, 2006. I have called the NVC today, but they said that they have no history of the case yet. I would like to know that how long does it take for the NVC to recieve the case? PLEASE ADVICE......THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH...

The period you have been waiting seems perfectly normal, comparing to the others' cases... Mine was approved in April 17th and was received by NVC on May 5th... So, 18 days later!!! And I've seen many cases that arrives in NVC in about two weeks and half later, like mine!

I think you'll be hearing something from them within one week or so... Just relax, your process has been done in a smooth way so far, and hopefully you'll have your interview date soon!

I don't know what I would do if I were in your place, but I think I wouldn't stop calling untill they gave me a convincent explanation for the delay!

Anyway, there are some cases that are delayed for no appearantly reason! But just hang in there a little bit more... I bet your case will be approved soon! We all are going to celebrate this with you!

But the post says that if my NOA 1 is after March 6th, then the security was already applied to my case and hence should not be recalled, My NOA1 was March 8th, What should I do?? Should I try emailing the Embassy, or calling them again?

As i could understand from the previous topics, the petitions with NOA 1 AFTER MARCH 6TH will be recalled... So, if I understood it correctly, it really would apply to your case... Really sorry!

Well, ana and I got approved on april 13th... and we still haven't heard one word from the NVC. I have called everyday and still nothing so... yea I dont know whats going on, but i hardly think that it should take this long to process... sigh

Hey, friend.... I do know how much it's hard for you and Ana! And I really wish you two have news about NVC soon... Maybe they already even sent your papers to Rio and you do not know that! I've heard about times when NVC staff are not organized with the petitons... People kept calling them and they said it wasn't there, until the beneficiary receives the package 3 at home! Yeah.. That's a real #######, but it seems that they don't send letters saying they are fowarding the papers to the embassy for all petitioners.

I really expect you to get these papers soon for me and Ana to schedule our medical together...hehe

Humm... Well, the advantage of a round-trip is that it uses to be cheaper than a one-way ticket! But since you got a good price in this one you bought, there's any problem in using it!

Of course! Both the Petitioner and the Beneficiary have the right to know what's going on with their case! And as long as NVC sent the papers to the Consulate, there's really nothing to be asked to them anymore! Now, it's up to the Italian Consulate!

Fiance's interview was tomorrow at 9am. Just got call today that his interview has been cancelled by USCIS because they need to re-review the petition and if approved once again then they would reschedule the appointment. Anyone have this happen to them? Does the whole process start all over again? How long would it take? So upset right now cuz the interview was tomorrow!!! all the excitement down the drain. They said it was because of some immigration marriage law or something. I called USCIS and they dont have any status on my petition except that it has been approved (1st approval). Would the petition go back to USCIS and then resent to NVC and then back to london? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. =(

What????? Maybe you can give us more info......your timeline is not updated so not sure what is happening with you case. Was your interview scheduled at the embassy in London???? When did you receive packet 3 and drop of the DS230???? Were you and your fiance ever married before???? What marriage law are they talking about????

I dont have the exact dates with me but my fiance sent his packet 3 the same day he received it because he had everything ready. I believe it came right after easter. Then they sent him packet 4 on May 4th but he received it late so he called the embassy to check the status and they told him his interview is on may 11th. Then today he got a call from the embassy telling him that they have been contacted by USCIS and his appointment has been canceled because they need to go over our petition again and approve it again. I dont know why?? i have never read any cases like this before and I dont want our case to be "lost in the system" and for us to wait forever for it to finally be approved. I dont know what to do and no one can provide more information. My fiance called the embassy and they said its right that it has been canceled and that he should contact USCIS if he has any questions. I called them and they said "things like this can occur" but they cant give me any information on this cuz they dont even have it in their system! What to do?? He had his medical done right after packet 3 was sent back so he was just waiting for his interview date. We are both so lost now. =(

So, I guess you'd have to contact your Congresman for him to check what's really going on! That's not a normal thing and, since you don't have anything diferent from the others to investigate, your process should be done like anyone else's is!

I think you should call the consulate again and ask for more details about the reasons they had to do this and how long this "review" will take!

Why was reading to some cases of people that had to go through administrative processes and administrative reviews but everything seemed confusing to me! What's the diference between administrative process and administrative review? And in which situations the consulates use to judge them necessary?

does anybody know a telephone number to call from U.S. in order to

know when exactly NVC sent our petition to the Consulate in the country of

the beneficiary?

On the 27th of April my fiance in U.S. got the confirmation by mail that

NVC was going to send the petition to the American Consulate in order to

send to me (I'm the beneficiary)packet 3 in Italy. Since it has been 2 weeks

now we would like to know how long it takes to get Packet 3, or if this

"famous" packet is on the way.

Apparently it looks like that when my fiance try to contact them, they ask to

press no. 1, then 2, then 3 but actually at the end you can't get an hold on

nobody.

Does anyone know, from personal experience, what

number should be dialed from U.S., or the best way, in order to know when

they sent the file to my country (which is the beneficiary country), in order

to get "packet 3" ?

Humm... You should call your Consulate in Italy to see if they received your petition already! In affirmative case, ask them if you can send the package 3 forms to them before receiving this!

By marrying in her country, you'll mostly making your waiting much longer, since you really would have to cancel the K-1 visa process and start a K-3. Unless you can live in her country with her, I don't really think it worths to wait even more...hehe

I'll get married in the USA but, as soon as we have enough money, we plan on coming back to Brazil to have a nice party in here for all the family!
