  2. Today I checked the ceac website and I got a new messages,

Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov(English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol (Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/ask.

Anyone no what that means will I be getting welcome letter soon

Same what happened to me last two days ago. I think this is for the welcome lettter.. I assume we will get it next month december. my PD is march 2015.

  3. Really? My husband called last night ... She told us we could receive it within 6 months... Strange :-( my PD is March 9, 2015. Anyway, i still hope we could get it next month. It makes sense as there are some PD in Feb has received WL arlready... We should be in the next line. We will call them again in dec 1st.

Call them 1st week of december. My PD is march 2015 we practically have the same PD . so expect them to process your visa and welcome letter.

  4. Hello everyone I'm new to this . I have a couple of questions (1) what is a welcome letter , is that the letter u get from the NVC with ur case ## if it is (2) how long after u get that do they ask for payment of fees ? Thx u all My PD is June-01-15

welcome letters tell you that your visa is on process at NVC . When your visa is on process that's the time they will ask you to pay fees.

  5. Okay, so you are a non-conditional permanent resident. Forget the stuff I said about Removal of Conditions above. Not renewing the green card does not terminate your permanent residency, but it's a good idea to renew it. You can apply to renew up to 6 months before it expires. Also, according to question 24 in this FAQ, if by the time you apply for naturalization your green card is within 6 months of expiration or already expired, you need to renew your card.

Oh so i need a valid non expired green card , makes clear now.. okay.. so i will renew my GC in 90days before it expires.. Thanks much!

  6. It still doesn't make sense to me. You are petitioning your wife to immigrate. That means you didn't immigrate through a spouse? So you are not a conditional permanent resident? (Or did you immigrate through a former spouse? or your parent immigrated through a spouse?) But how can it be that your green card expires in 2017 and you "will be eligible to apply for citizenship 2017"? If you have a 10-year card, then it will only expire 10 years after you get permanent residency, but you only need 5 years to be eligible for naturalization under the 5-year rule.

Do you have a 2-year green card or a 10-year green card? Why are you eligible to apply for citizenship in 2017 and not now (what rule will you be applying under)?

I have the 10 year green card ... i had been going in and out of the country so that is why could not apply for citizenship, but as of now so far i stayed 3yrs consistent in USA so in 2017 i will be 5yrs straight....
