  1. What's your local office?

    Edit:

Sorry, just saw it is Raleigh.

You're right, there is not a lot of info on Raleigh.

But comparing the official reported times from different local offices, you could get lucky and see it in about 3 months from NOA.

I haven't seen a lot of interviews either.

I've also noticed that a lot of people here don't update their status unless they run in to issues. So with a bit of luck, the rest is already approved.

True. I'll just have to wait and see!

  2. For those wondering about interview or not, Green card before EAD or not and al those fun things, here's what you can do (though I'm sure a lot of people are disagreeing with me I've been fairly accurate (within 2 weeks) on several cases.

    Check the AOS timeline page.

Filter for K1 (or what ever is appropriate) and filter for your local office.

Sort by NOA-1 and start looking at approved timelines.

You'll see if there is a decent change of getting an interview or not (of course you can always be randomly selected). And you can see how many days most cases have to wait between NOA and decision.

Ignore anything before November (lot of these people got hit by the "potential interview waiver"

Ignore anyone with an RFE (unless you got one yourself).

Do this for a couple of days/weeks and you'll see a trend developing for your office. Regardless of whether your case goes there or stays at the NBC, there is a definite coloration between wait time and field office.

Good info, but the problem with this for us is that our local office only approved one case in February with an NOA1 date of end of december. They were approved in under 2 months basically, but I can't find any data from those that filed after. It's like a) people stopped filling in their timelines or b) the local office just got slammed.

  3. Was getting a little discouraged seeing everyone get updates and good news, but I checked on our case on a whim and it's been updated to New Card is Being Processed! We're skipping the interview, I suppose. The wording is weird, so naturally I'm having a little bit of anxiety that it doesn't mean what I think it means, but I'm sure it means that my husband's green card will be mailed very soon!

Keep up the hope, everyone! Patience will pay off! :)

Wow congrats! Love that you skipped the interview!

  4. Yes I did! Francais_usa ? I am using my husband's last name, all my aos forms have my married name.

That's kind of strange...they shouldn't need to change your name if all your AOS forms are in that name already. All I can say is that I know case officers really vary on what they decide to display to petitioners through their case status. Your case officer must have updated something regarding your name--maybe your I485 NOA1 had your name spelled wrong or something? I don't think it's a cause to worry at all though.

  5. Good morning February filers! Congrats to all the approvals,is great to see they are working on our cases! ???

I have a question, I checked my case status this morning and found that my case is updated with the following notes and dont know what it means, I called customer service and they said my name didn't have any changes and is too soon to get information about my case. ? (Weird)

Thanks in advance for your help.

On April 5, 2016, your name was updated relating to your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

Did you change your name when you got married? That's the only thing I can think of...

  6. I am not trying to gloat or rub this in anybody's faces but I thought I would give an update so you know what to expect as far as USCIS updates. My wife's AOS was approved this past Friday and today got an update that the card was mailed today. I had seen other posts that the site provides a tracking number but there isn't on listed.

Again, not to gloat or anything, I know the frustration some of you are feeling, I sat in TSC hell for 7 months last year without a word.

You're not gloating at all! And maybe because our K1 was approved in under 1 month, our green card will take longer haha

  7. Don't worry I did my bio on the 24th and no info yet it's random just like the NOA emails and texts I also haven't had any USCIS updates since March 1st and I got my emails on Feb 29th.

Just enough to drive us all insane.

We are in similar boats. Ugh I hate this waiting! I hope that my husband's AP will at least be approved. We're going to France in June for wedding #2 + honeymoon!

  8. We just got an update on case status saying we were approved and the card is on the way. I guess no interview? Reading some other responses that seems like that can happen.

I'm assuming this will be the 2-year temporary card and there will be an interview when my wife needs to get the 10-year?

Congrats! It seems like (with the exception of MASH), those that had biometric appts in early March are being processed for green cards now!

Yes, you will get the 2 year temporary card, and I don't believe there's another interview to get the 10 year...not sure about this though.

  9. Well I just checked and my case is ready for interview date which I am happy but I really wish there was no interview , I'm nervous like crazy cause me n my husband have nothing under our names together yet do to his work schedule , when would I get the physical letter does anyone know?, I'm getting butterflies in my tummy :(

I wish there was no interview and they would just mail the green card lol

Omg MASH you already have an interview! Your biometrics was like 4 days before mine! I'm so happy for you!!!!

I think the green card interview will be really relaxed, I wouldn't worry too much about it yet. My husband and I don't have anything in our names, either. Just bring all the evidence you can.

I ordered a return transcript for 2015 two weeks ish ago and received it today for my husband just incase I get an RFE I thought better be safe.

So to answer your question returns transcripts for 2015 are available.

    Awesome, thank you!

  10. Did your return have all the appropriate schedules attached? If not, you need to attach that. You should complete the 2015 tax return at this point since it so close to the deadline and your RFE is due past the deadline. Also attach W2s or 1099 corresponding to that return. To make it easier, you can just ask the IRS for a tax transcript, which will have a complete return and w2 info included. I'm not sure if the IRS can send trancripts for 2015, so I would look that up. Good luck!

  11. hi everyone, ive just checked uscis website with my case number for AOS EAD and AP ... my AOS says my case is being prepared to interview (29th March 2016) however my EAD and AP no change whatsoever?! Anyone else get this?

Does this mean once i have my interview, and God willing, everything is successful i will get my green card soon?

    I AM SO CONFUSED!

Again, this just means that you were one of the lucky individuals where USCIS decided to waive the EAD and AP processing and go straight to the green card. Your green card will trump the EAD and AP, and those petitions will be cancelled. And yes, after a successful interview, you should recieve the green card. Congrats!

  12. Guys,

When I was filling out the i864 again, I realized something VERY IMPORTANT. When you fill out Page 3, part 4, it automatically fills out the name on Page 12 part 11 Additional information. If you delete the name in additional information, it will delete the name in Page 3, part 4. Please keep this in mind when filling out the form. I think a lot of people, including myself may have reached the end of the form and deleted the name in additional info so as not to confuse the uscis officer, not realizing it deletes the form in part 4. Hope it helps anyone reading this.

    Useful info! Thank you!

  13. Hi everyone,

    Regarding I-765 on (eligibility).

I came to the US as a fiance of an American citizen on a K-1. I was her fiance when i came in and a month later we got married. I still have 2 months to go for the expiration of my 90 day staying period. I also have my ssn.

I'm almost sure my eligibility code in the I-765 form should be © (9). can anyone please verify this for me ?? This is correct.

I'm filing for adjustment of status, employment document and rentry (I-131)

I have also seen some samples of I-765 forms where the eligibility shows as © (9) (p), is there anything i have to write on that third place where the (p) shows ?? No, it should just be C9.

    *****************************************************************************************

    Regarding G-235a (Petitioner).

We filled this form before I came to the US when filing for my K-1, because my (at the time fiance) was the one filing the K-1 in the US she was (The Petitioner).

Now (I AM ) in the US getting this ready to send my I-485 package.

Should she still be (The Petitioner) on her G-235a because she was the ORIGINAL PETITIONER when I was in my country ????

Or should I be the Petitioner because I'm the one filing for my I-485 for adjustament status ??? Because you are the one that is applying, you are the petitioner, and you should be the one who fills out the form with your information. You are petitioning for your own green card and not your wife. You only need to send in ONE G325A, and that form should be with YOUR biographical information.

Is two G-235a forms we have to send so what do you think should appear as petitioner on hers and mine ??

    Regarding I-864 (household).

Counting the households, I am the principal immigrant that she would be sponsoring so thats one person,

but at the same time she's also married to me, which should be accounted for in the (persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit).

So should I account myself as also her spouse on the (persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit) or just leave it blank and account only me as the principal immigrant. ?? Since you are already counted as the principal immigrant, you do not count yourself again as her spouse. On the USCIS instructions: "In some cases the same person could fit into two categories. For example, your spouse, whom you would enter in Item Number 3., might also be a lawful permanent resident for whom you have already sponsored using Form I-864 (Item Number 6.). If you included your spouse on Item Number 3., do not include him or her again on Item Number 6."

    Regarding (I-131),

I have no plans to make a trip any time soon, so I have no departure or return date or any itinerary for any trip, but I do want to have the ability to travel if I want to travel at any time in the future.

What should i write down on this form regarindg so or can I only apply for and I-131 if I'm going to travel ???

I don't want to pay extra for filing a separate (I-131). It's a good idea to file the I-131 in case you want to travel. You do NOT need to write an explanation for why you are traveling, as your AOS application is sufficient evidence. As for your travel date, just estimate a date a few months into the future or the earliest you plan to travel. It doesn't matter, just make it far enough out that your AP application would get approved before the travel occurs.

    *********************************************************************************************************

    Lastly,

We leave together in technically her house, so in ALL FIELDS that are titled (In care Of) in all forms,

do I write her name ??

We are not changin names so she will still have her maiden name. You should put her name in the "In Care Of" field, but I don't think it matters that much. Since my husband is not on my apartment lease, I put my name in the "in care of field" and they just put his name and my name on the envelope.

    Thank you all very much.
