  1. Hi

I got interview letter only email will they send me through mail as well? Or i just have to print and take to embassy.

Another question NVC scheduled my interview and email the p4 letter. Do i still need to contact embassy for interview or i am good with that letter.

    Your response will be appreciated

    Thanks

I never got a letter thru mail but only thru email but I noticed that some others did. Anyhow what you get thru email is completely valid so a printout would work. You don't need to inform the embassy as NVC corresponds with the embassy and sends your file to them (you can track this on the CEAC site). You just need to turn up at the embassy on the date given on the P4.

What you need to do at this point is schedule the medical and prepare your files for the interview. You also need to take a copy of the P4 for the medical along with whatever the doctors office requests you to bring.

    Hope this helps.

  2. I know right, I wish they tell us something now the system back up running, did you happen to check the ceac, is your dates been change or is it shows same date you went on the interview. Mines have been changes twice.

no the dates changed every single time I called the embassy and they checked the status of the case. Today evening it has actually changed from 'ready' to 'administrative processing'. I've read thats a good sign for approved visas as it's the stage before 'issued' so at least I know something is happening. Hopefully it'll all be over this week.

I hope they tell you what's going on with yours as well. Good luck!

  3. oh that's really good, I hope you get your visa this week..I call the embassy today, the lady who answer the phone ask my husband information then she says its still on review. it made me more sad :( I check ceac the date had been changed from 9 to 29th, I dont know if that was bad move calling them.

every time I have called the embassy and checked the ceac site immediately after the last updated date has shown that particular date so Im guessing that they log into check the status on that system and the date gets captured from that action. My guess is that cos I've noted it a couple of times now.

So I called them a again a few minutes ago too and now they say they hope to clear everything this week but that she can't say for sure. I'm too frustrated with this damn visa to bother anymore.

  4. I'm so bummed about this system failure. After this dreadful process when you think it's finally over a system failure happens!!!

I was supposed to collect my passport today from the embassy and now they can't even tell me when they are able to give it. I have already bought my ticket for next week too coz I was gonna surprise my husband for his birthday!

I know it's no ones fault but I'm SO FRUSTRATED that this is happening!

  5. Oh boy I just read the article too. I'm supposed to pick up my passport next week! I hope nothing goes wrong and that there's no delay :(

Dwheels76......what u will say about the recent global technical problem in US embassies database......it is affecting approved visa printing....we r not able to see our status as issued from ready after interview approval...like mine interview was 9th june...i was approved but still status is showing ready....do u know how much it will take to transfer it to issued....since this is not mine problem it is for all world...and it has also happened in last year at 20 july 2014.....

It’s okay, I just don’t understand why the US embassy in Sri-Lanka making it so hard to approve visa. I don’t know how long we have to wait, its making me so depress, It’s all in God hands right now L

Consular mark on the top box: it’s says, No further action is currently required on your part. An officer will contact you when a final decision has been made your case.

Hmmm I'm sorry. I wish I knew what that meant but since there's no specific reason given I'm drawing a question mark too...

But you're right about faith. It's the only thing that kept me going so just keep praying that it will all work itself out.

  7. congratulations! Please do share your interview experience and the questions asked.

I dont know if I should put this here or in the June thread (I know it's closed anyway), but we were approved. Thank God. Thank you VJ community for your help, clarity, and support. This is the single most useful tool anyone can use while going through US Immigration Processes.

    Good luck to everyone!

  8. If you have received your P4 letter it is advisable for you to complete your medical asap too. Then you can call/ write to the embassy and tell them that you have completed everything from your side and ask for the earliest interview date.

    Hi Guys,

Need your help, Acyually I have got my case completed at NVC dated 04/27, after CC I requested an expedite at NVC. That request was just to expedite my interview date. I have got the follwing email from them

    Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: XXXXXXX filed by XXXXXXX on behalf of XXXXX

The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General has accepted this case for expedited processing. This file will be immediately forwarded to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General. Any further questions concerning processing or the interview appointment date should be directed to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General.

Please note that the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General may still request additional forms or fees at the time of your interview. Please be prepared to submit any missing forms and pay any required fees at the time of your interview.

And on calling them I came to know that the interview will be scheduled by Embassy now. If that's the case then what was point in expediting my case?

I am super confused, because if I talk to NVC they say they cant do anything now as far as scheduling is concerned and I have not got anything from either embassy or NVC.

    Please Help!

  9. Hi can you let me know what the DHL account is for? IS it to track the documents from NVC to the embassy by any chance? If so could you please give me details too so that I can set up my own.

This may sound like a stupid question, but i'll ask it nonetheless.

I'm creating my account on DHL site, and it asks for DS-260#. Is the number at the bottom of the page, or is the one at the top of the form (eg. OMB Approval Number 1405-0015)??

    Hoping someone can clarify.

  10. This is their standard response. I got the same email however a CC within 24 days. So just keep the faith! Good luck! :)

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to check if this is a typical correspondence from NVC at this time:

I got an email from the NVC saying they received my documents on April 27 (the day I emailed my AOS and IV packages) and that they are receiving an increased number of approved petitions from the USCIS and that I should expect at least 60 days for the review of my documents.

Given that lately the NVC said 45 days and people here have reported review times of ~21 days, is this ok? I mean, is the NVC suddenly seeing an increase in documents to review?

    Thanks!
