Our F2B Filed in March 2016 @ California Service Center. Does anyone file their F2B case the same time like mine & still not receiving their NOA2 yet? & i believe most are still waiting for the approval notice (NOA2) from California Service Center based on the info below:

Based on their current processing info:

I-130 Petition for Alien Relative Permanent resident filling for an unmarried son or daughter over 21

    May 27, 2015

Everyone on this thread already passed that stage years ago. Many are waiting for either  welcome letters or interview at this time.

You'll have some time to wait, don't know how fast or slow until they reach your date.

Having a petition does not prevent you from getting a visitors Visa. I have an F1 petition with priority date April 2011, and i was able to get a 10 year B1/B2 visa in August 2015. I have travelled on this visa many times, no problems.

You are one of the lucky one. I went to renew my visitor visa and was denied and my nephew went and was told his mother was been  petitioned. Evert case is different.

One of my friends was included on a petition for her mother, that was submitted in 1997.  Her mother passed away a few years ago and she has also aged out.  She tried to apply for a tourist visa recently, as she didn't realize the petition was still active. She was told by the consulate to have her petition canceled before she can apply for the tourist visa.  She no longer wants to immigrate, as she has a family now and is happy living and working in the UAE.

How does she get that immigration petition canceled?

See if she can get the case number and email nvc about it

Hi Jrvc02! thanks! the only reason why I wanted an opt out is that I want to make sure that I can bring my 11 year old kid with me when I traveled because no one will look after him and I am a single mom. because my mom and my aunt kept saying that I cannot bring my son if I am in F1 category. If there is only an assurance that I can bring my son even if I am in an F1 category, I would gladly stay and not push thru the retention to F2b. because I don't want to complicate the process anymore because I can always wait. because my priority date is already current (PD Jan. 29, 2007). I actually don't want to get a schedule of interview without the approval that my category has been moved to F2b. but thank you also. I appreciate it so much.:)

i'm fb1 and my 4 yr old is coming with me. As long as you send in the documents for the child and pay the money you ok.

Thanks. My son will be going with me. Please can you give me an idea of how much it will cost for both of us?

Sure, i paid $61000 for me and my daughter and she is 4 years old.  For adults it pretty basic for myself it was $28520 but depends on the age of your son it will varies. i paid $14000 for one shot for my daughter i don't know if your son will get that one. Just bring around $80,000 in case.

LOL.....I told you it would be exhausting What time did you arrive and how long did it all take? How many shots did you get and did your daughter cry when getting hers?

Next up, interview.......remember to brief yourself on the items not to take to the Embassy, they won't let you enter should you have these items.

Reach around 9am and left around 1:30-2 pm  reach home 3:30. I got 2 shots (influenza and dtap) i already got mmr when i had given birth. Daughter got 3 one costing $14000 i was shocked. She bawl dung the place poor thing. Two weeks to go.
