Hey guys! My wife had the first 2 shots for COVID but never got a booster. Does she need a booster shot?

Also, I'm expecting her interview in the next month or two, so should she go get her polio vaccination and certification done now or should we wait?

No need for a booster shot. My wife also had just covid vaccine shots and had no issues at interview or at Port of entry.

Ok thank u so much! I been so stressed over this haha also did you have a new passport too? Basits expired so he has a new passport and was saying we needed to unlock the ds260 but that doesn't sound right... My lawyer said they'll just take his new passport at the interview and there's no need to unlock the ds260

I am a US citizen my wife went through interview this Jan 2024 and regarding new passport he can give it to the officer after the Interview and tell him his old passport expired and this is the renew one no big deal. All the best

Hey guys does anyone know how long it takes for 221g to process ?

I been married for 4 years and still waiting for my husband’s visa.

Usually 221g is administrative processing then it can take any where from few days to few months. It just means the officer didn't had enough information to approve visa then and there. He or she still require more information. Hopefully it won't be long. All the best.

Everyone is saying to upload new documents on CEAC but NVC didn't ask for anything new and my lawyer says do not do this just bring new documents and passport to interview. Anyone do what my lawyer said and was fine?

You don't need to upload any thing just take every thing to the interview. That's what I did.

hello everyone, its been a while since i checked up on interviews. Looks like progress has been made for many. Congrats.

Unfortunately, it seems my wife has decided to not go to interview and infact wanting to end marriage as well. So over 3+yrs of wait, all the efforts, seems to go down the drain. I am going to blame the lengthy visa process for this breakup. The family of wife was TIRED of waiting so long and felt they couldn't wait any longer and relationship strained with them deciding to end the marriage.

My wife interview is this week. If she doesn't show up? what happens? anyone know..

Also is it possible that i can contact NVC n tell them my story and request that they give me some break. Like if i want to marry someone else from PK. That i dont have to wait another 3-4 yrs like last time.. is there room for this? i can no longer wait 3yrs to start family. My father is devastated by this.. we are heart broken, we did all we can from our end but this lengthy process was eating up wife's family as they had their relatives made their lives living hell n filled ears of distrust and its looks like its over..

Any advice for me, can i request NVC, will they give me a chance n speed up my case for my future wife. It will be very difficult for me to marry in USA now given now after having to wait 4 yrs, i'll be 40yr old n it's difficult to find good god fearing girls in USA.. Its why we opted for PK. It is unfair, being a US citizen i had to wait this long.. i don't wanna say my life is ruined because i have faith in God n losing hope is a sin. It's just, i feel like i've been robbed by this crazy process to get my wife to be with me to start life. I hope no one goes through what i been through for last few years.

    Thanks,

Immigration is a painful journey and one can't reach its shores till you have shoes of patience on. Secondly like many others here have been waiting for years to be together with their spouses. The key here to keep Intact the relationship you could have visited her more often even though I know it's difficult but some times you have to swallow a bad tasting tablet knowing it's benefits outweighs it's taste. I started my wife case in 2020 and still waiting for her interview now what I did was leave my very well paying job and went Pakistan in 2021 and stayed there till October 2023 now am back again in states obviously not every one can do it but for me most important was to keep intact my marriage. But hopefully you will find a good woman. The best place to find a good woman is in the mosque in your area. Because normally Pakistani & other muslim communities often gather at jummah prayers just a suggestion might work for you. Good luck

I have a question, for now how long does the visa validity takes after approval? Like when you get the passport how long is the visa valid for in order to make entry into U.S.

Visa will be valid for 6 months so make sure u enter before the end of Sox months but after port of entry stamp this stamp will be valid for one year and serve as green card till u don't get your green physically

Keep it up and trash them. At this point I don’t care, I talked to their faces in the most amicable manner possible.

Get a fully remote job if you can… and go there and live there. Earning in $ and spending is RS you’ll never be unhappy.

It is temporary, the only difficulty I have is dealing with the ignorant public at large (there are plenty of them).

It is like an adventure for me every time I step out the house.

Hey if you guys think you can put of with our lovely people, and their I believe they call it “budikhlalhia” you will be fine. They definitely love to rest your patience. Our nation is despicable and this is why we are treated like third class citizens even if we are citizens of USA.

If I was you, and want to be with my wife. I would get that remote job and move here and live my life with her till it’s done. Otherwise it will take a mental toll on your health.

    Best Regards,

Corporation doesn't care what you think and how you treat them. They are trained for this. And they do what is best for them not for people who are suffering. Money speaks non immigrants and employment visas and special afghan visa bring in more money to their pool simple as that who cares if you are a citizen your fees is less and you only pay one time and you are done.

  9. Hello VJ users,

I needed to know how do I know that my CRBA application was approved by Islamabad embassy after asking for additional documents which I submitted and how much time do they usually take to approve the CRBA application?

Secondly will I get the original documents along with CRBA certificate or it will be sent back separately?

    Thanks

  10. I think the purpose of this platform is to help each other out instead of fighting and arguing. Every one has a point of view and they are free to express it but without rubbing it onto others. Yes US embassy islamabad has lot to deal with. Firstly they deal with all immigrant and non immigrant visas then Afghan special immigrant visas. And then expedite cases. I applied for expedite 7 times and I had a genuine reason but got denied every time I wonder how other people were getting approved. Now one solution in my opinion is by spreading out the workload to other consulates like Lahore Karachi and peshawar that way the man power and resources could be utilized in a more efficient way. It will be 3 years in August since I applied for my wife case which is still going on. Immigration is a painful journey and we all are in it together and yes it is very frustrating and painful but one day it will be over and hopefully sooner. Keep praying that Islamabad embassy start increasing its pace and catch up with the backlog till then it happen we all can just pray and hope for the best.

It has never been less than a week i dont where you got that from. It always takes 2-3 weeks, 1 week is impossiblr never happened before

It actually happened to me back in 2016. I got my visa within a week after the interview. I dont know if its a norm or I just happened to be lucky but mostly it does take between 1 to 4 weeks.

Hi Brother I Have a question. So today I went to my daughter's CRBA appointment and The Co asked me to provide him 2016-2017 and 2018 W-2s or IRS tax Transcripts. I cant access the transcripts for year 2016-17 and 18 i think due to 5 year record access restriction. But i can access my W-2s for 2016-17-18 from IRS website will it work?

Does Any one has encountered a situation where nadra marriage certificate marital status column showed him as married where as his her previous marriage ended in divorce so status should be divorced instead of married. IO pinpointed that mistake and asked to get the Nadra certicare amended within 90 days but it can only be corrected through court which can take more than 6 months. I wanted to ask should i explain my situation in writing to the embassy and send them the Pakistani divorce as an evidence?

  13. 18 hours ago, Zs10102 said:

Yep it looks like CO needs either W2s or IRS transcripts for 2016,2017,and 2018. What i would do is tell a family member in USA to scan and email them to you and than you print it out and give it to the embassy.

I actually downloaded W2s from irs website and printed them out.

  14. 11 hours ago, Zs10102 said:

Did he ask you for official or copies? If its a copy have a family member scan it and send it to your email and if the CO need official than your only option is to way until a family member or friend goes to pakistan and you pick it up from them or you can DHL but that would cost you at least 70-100$ one of my friends did that and he sent like 5 papers and it costed him like 90$.

The paper he gave is this attached file and it just says W-2s or Transcripts

Hi i did CRBA for my son at the karachi like 10 months ago and these were the document i submitted

    - Last 4 years of tax transcripts

    -last 7 years of school

-all of mine and my wifes nikah nama

    - my sons pakistan birth certificate and hospital birth certificate

    - 2 passports size photos of my son

    - completed application of ds-2029

    -completed application of ds-11

-my wifes pakistan ID and passport

    -215$ is the CRBA fee

And also in your case since you were divorced you would have to give them your divorce certificate. You also NEED 5 YEARS of US presence and at least 2 if these years have to be after age 14, you can submit irs transcripts, school/college transcripts, old passports, and pay stubs from your work. I would recommend you go to Karachi for the CRBA it is much faster to get an appointment there, when i applied for my son i received his USA passport and CRBA in 3 weeks.

Thank you for such a detailed reply appreciate it. And I already have an appointment for July 6th.

Here it is.  Print it off and bring it to CRBA appointment.

    Highlight this section:

Physical presence in the United States counts for purposes of citizenship acquisition under INA 301 or INA 309, regardless of whether it was pursuant to a legal admission.

Thank you so much for your help. I'll definitely print it out and take it with me.

    Yes, you qualify.

You don’t have to be a citizen the entire time required for CRBA, but you do have to be a citizen at child’s birth.

Thank you I appreciate it. I was under the impression that I have to be a citizen for 5 years before the birth if my child.

    1) Annual exam record + covid vax is good.

    2) Did you not receive your GC through spouse? Why don't you apply for CRBA through spouse?

Yes I did but that marriage ended in divorce. I have a child from my second marriage. It also brings another question I wad naturalized in 2021 and my child was born in 2023. Do I even qualify for CRBA

    1) do you have school records?
