  1. congrats harporc and karn! woohoo congrats way to go! thanks for sharing your experiences. Kieren's hubby and I will definitely benefit from it. I have been AWOL for a while and i will again be missing due to family function. I will come back again in couple weeks to write our review and experience. good luck to us all :)

Guys, I just entered my review if anyone wants to get details. All the best to KierenHby, TeJo and anyone else whose interview coming up

Congrats dear and thank you for the best wishes.

  2. Kieren - hubby took ds-260 confo, interview letter, appt confo letter, passport and photocopy of first and last page (passport pix - yes my suggestion) birth cert copy and original, marriage cert copy and original.

also, as of 10pm pst last night, my case shows in transit .

  3. sorry for not posting review yet, its coz i dont have much info yet. hubby had to go back to punjab right after medical and phone was out of range, and then i was preoccupied last night so didnt get much time to talk. but i know he will get the report back on next wednesday i.e. one week and since we have no record of vaccines he got a bunch of vaccines and they gave him a shot and said he will need that booster after a week and he can get it done anywhere. i dont know the costs yet. will get all info and share in a day or two.

  4. congrats Paro and Rao ... wooohoo

my friends' husbands interview was also yesterday and he was also approved. his appt was at 7:30, got out at 1:30 yuck.

very similar questions as Paro posted.

my hubby did his fingerprints and medical in delhi yesterday. He did fingerprints early as who knows how technology will react in next few days given the track record of DOS.

Kieren, parde mein rehne do parda na uthao :)

  5. Tejo, thank you for the 4 pics confirmation. (The other 2 must be for interview.. says so on our IL email). No point taking pics to the fingerprint/photo session, hehe :)

Yeah I think studios can prepare a set of 8 pix for a reasonable price.

well a lady can never have enough photo sessions hehe

glad that i could sort of suggest something useful....

  6. In addition to Passport and other documents, how many photos are required for medical at Delhi or Mohali?

kierenhby, i read somewhere and was told by mohali peeps 4 photographs, and read somewhere 2 for either ofc or interview, can't recall. in my checklist of things i prepared, i asked my hubby to take 8 pix with him, they are pretty cheap in india anyways. hence ...

20 min in and out vac centre delhi. No fee charged

    Doc required

    Ds 260

    Appointment letter

    Passport original

    Don't

Don't use body lotion while going to vac.

Carry : tissue or handkerchief. Waiting area before the allow u inside vac is so dusty. I am dust allergic and now my nose is running

They allow u to bring electronic.

Very efficient staff and very helpful.

    Hope this helps.

    thank you bunny ji.

bunny - how much did you pay for medical at delhi? hubby is going tomorrow and i forgot to ask them, so i can guesstimate per your experience.

paro - since your hubby got some vaccines, how much did you have to pay?

  7. is it just the medical or the cost of vaccinations as well, when I added up all the vaccines it shows close to Rs 10,000

the basic medical itself is Rs 3280

and all the vaccines added are Rs 13260

but they could be fewer in your case that's why they said Rs 7000, if you feel you are being overcharged then yes please let the embassy know. do you have breakdown of the cost, how they came up with 7000?

  8. I dont think you have to pay anything. (The $420 IV we paid at NVC probably covers this too).

Check with Paro about OFC facility. I think her hubby already completed biometrics. His interview is this week.

Agree with KierenHby - it does not cost to get fingerprinting. It does state on the website as well. I don't have the link handy but I can confirm that it does not require additional payment.

  9. It is the 4th then. Thank you for help TeJOGB. There are few other things if readers can shed some light, please:

    1. Our AOS Form I-864EZ with 2014 tax returns was accepted at the NVC without issue (there is no co-sponsor); however, the P4 letter says "Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If ... ...to visa interview." Although, we are taking our copy of submitted I-864EZ with us, would you recommend taking revised (new) I-864 to the interview as well? In other words, what does "Bring updated Federal income tax..." specify?
    2. Can we take our wedding album (hard bind with 11" x 17" sheets) to the interview as a proof of relationship or a few loose pictures of us?
    3. If anyone has experience dealing with Max Super Specialty Hospital, Mohali, Punjab:
    • Do they mail the reports directly to NWD embassy or they hand it over to the applicant for interview?
    • How long does it take to get the reports once you are scheduled for medical at Mohali?

    Your feedback is appreciated.

    3. If anyone has experience dealing with Max Super Specialty Hospital, Mohali, Punjab:
    • Do they mail the reports directly to NWD embassy or they hand it over to the applicant for interview? - they tell you when to pick up the reports
    • How long does it take to get the reports once you are scheduled for medical at Mohali? --- 5-7 business days.
  10. Dear friends,

Can anyone tell me in detail what to do next? I read the email but it would be nice to know what you did in order to have your loved one near you :)

rdmultani - you will need to do two big things, 1 get your medical done at mohali or delhi and schedule fingerprints at delhi, you could go in on oct 15 or earlier.

    http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Medical/NWD%20-%20New%20Delhi.pdf(phone number for medical here)

from what i understand mohali guys are going to tell you to call back end of september but you can try early, not sure, but call and ask.

for fingerprinting go to usatraveldocs.com/in and register yourself and schedule a category 1 appointment for finger prints and picture.

gather all the required docs listed in the interview letter, they will give you a list of documents you will need to bring in with you. which is usually the following:

    1. print interview letter – all pages
    2. print ds-260 confirmation – all pages
    3. PASSPORT
    4. birth certificate
    5. MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
    6. Passport Police Certificate
    7. INDIA POLICE CERTIFICATE
    8. PHOTOGRAPH – get 6-8 recent photographs

to be cautious take all your aos and civil documents you sent to nvc, take your photo album.

    hope this helps.

  11. Dear All,

Our interview has been scheduled on October 5 (Monday) at NWD. With this information on hand, will it be alright if we schedule our FINGERPRINT appointment at Nehru Place, Delhi on October 4 (which is a Sunday) as we are not local to Delhi (7 hour drive)? Or, you think an early trip to Delhi will be worth on a safe side?

I will appreciate your feedback on this. Thanks,

    Sid

From what I understand, most out of town people schedule it a day before the interview and luckily they are open 1-5 on sunday to accommodate the monday interviews. so you should be ok. and from the reviews i hear from people they are pretty efficient. but technology is technology, if you want to be extra cautious you could go in on thursday but then 2-3 days what will you do there? i'd say you'll be ok.
