So silly but I worry about the same thing, not being let into the country. Hope you had a smooth POE?! I'm hoping on my flight tomorrow.

Pakke.dk
If you have to pay 1700 dkk with PD, they will let you ship the same for about 500 dkk.
So i have shipped 6 moving boxes today for DKK.2.869,65

It's an awesome feeling, isn't it?! Congratulations.
So when are you moving over? I have two weeks left in Sweden now. Time is moving so fast, there are not enough hours in the day to finish everything up.

Yes, there are visitor insurances and insurances that are specifically for K1's before they can get on a proper insurance. I bought mine from insu b u y .com (visa hate when people write that website and removes the link, but it's one word ) I had mine for a few months.

Just booked my flight to Texas and finalized all the details with Travel Cargo. This move is getting real.
So those of you who couldn't go on your husband/wife's medical insurance, how did you solve the medical insurance issue before getting a job? Is it possible to get it on a monthly basis? Was reading on some different websites and policies and WOW, getting medical insurance is really daunting. Not really liking the idea of having to sign up for a full year of medical insurance, when I know I'll get cover once I have a job.

I took my photos at the airport(Arlanda). They had a photo booth there, and that was no problem for the interview. I actually just arrived in the US and will write my poe experience in a longer post when I have time. I hope everyone hangs in there, because it is amazing to finally be done! Our visa journey lasted 14 months.....

Hi everyone, thanks for your input. Since opinions seem to differ, I decided to investigate further back in this thread. There was a Danish K1 applicant asking the exact same question as me last summer. It seems the requirement for date/place of birth of parents is a Swedish thing - and can be disregarded for Norwegians/Danes.
I've spoken to Skatteetaten before, and they will only issue the standardized versions available on their website. Also, they are the only authority in Norway that will issue birth certificates. However, annylilly, could you let us know if you are successful at obtaining such a certificate, or if it is fine otherwise at the interview? Mine is not until April 28, so I have some time still to get it all in order.

At some point, preferably before you enter the US, please read up on the Adjustment of Status and everything you need/should do after arriving into the USA so you don't miss anything.

Hi all
I contacted embassy for status of my visa and they quickly replied that teh AP is over and I can expect my visa next week. but in the website I am still under AP and it is not issued or something. Is it normal? how long before receiving your visa, did your status change?
can I trust that and reserve my flight ebfore it gets more expensive
thanks

Yes i had my interview in November last year and i went back to Norway without my passport. I only had my bank card with my information on it but i didn't have to show anything when i got back. So you should be okay with your ID -

I have never seen anyone on vj having to show the I-129 at the interview, not in sweden or any other embassy. Of course I haven't read all posts on VJ but if people have had that happen it should be easy to find by using the search bar..

Gonna feel so great going up to the check-in counter at the airport and when they say "you don't have an approved ESTA?", you can go "naaaaw, I have an immigration visa". ?

Hi Kl30, if you meet the required 125% of the poverty line with just your employment, then you don't need anything from your bank. You just need the i-134, the letter of employment, a few of your recent paystubs and your tax transcript for the last 3 years (Not required for the i-134 but is for the AOS so might as well get them). That's all I included for my fiance and had no issues. The bank info. is if you don't meet the minimum requirements with your employment and are using assets in addition to cover the requirements.

Picked up visa packet and passport yesterday and must give some positive feedback about the US embassy in Stockholm. They might be slow at replying to emails right now but they sure are on top of things. They did in fact figure out that the original packet we sent, where I forgot to put our case number, belonged to us. And when they received the second package we sent just in case, they emailed me and asked if we wanted the papers back or if they could shred them. And the best of all. They accidentally kept our original documents and gave me back the copies at the interview, I've been worrying about our original marriage cert but figured I'd try and swap it at POE. Well when I picked up my visa packet, they had placed all our originals in a plastic pocket and, I assume, taken copies themselves and put in the sealed envelope. I was impressed.

Guys, thanks for all the support and encouragement during our very long visa journey. It's really helped me stay sane throughout this long ordeal. Can't wait to hold that visa in my hand. Should be receiving it tomorrow or Friday, hopefully.
Calculus, congratulations on you getting your visa too.
For everyone waiting, I hope you hear something soon so you can continue your journey.

We have finally been issued a visa! We applied January 2015, and it has been a long road. I hope the rest of the Scandinavians waiting will be done soon ???

The stkiv email address is the one that goes straight to the visa unit at the US embassy, so that's the one to use once your case has been forwarded to the embassy.
The support one at ustraveldocs is to a customer service center in the US. They will answer simple questions they can see answers to on their screens, such as e.g have you received our case. For anything else, they will either forward your email to the visa unit at the embassy, contact the embassy for you or tell you to contact the embassy directly.
