  1. Just got off the phone with NVC and they said I've a checklist. They need me to submit the original birth certificate and marriage certificate, and that certified true copies are not accepted. Did u guys submit the originals? Do u think I can get a supervisor review to accept the certified copies and submit the originals at the interview? Thanks. My iv was logged on 20 mar.

Is it a certified copy from the entity that issued it? i.e. the registrar of that city? Certified copies are acceptable (what if someone doesn't have the original anymore?). If it was just a notarized copy that you got, then no it is not a certified copy.

  2. I saw your signature and noticed that you have got medicals scheduled for 4/30... did knightsbridge not have an earlier date? just curious.. and yes it is perfectly ok to be anxious about the documents make sure you get tracking and signature on arrival on the package.. :)

I'm sure they had earlier dates, but my parents were wanting to push the date out to the end of the month so that they can try and time the 6 month deadline properly from the time of the medical. They won' be moving until fall most likely as it needs to be cool enough for them to fly their cats :)

  3. hello all

i just got from my country . so been off contact from all of you. congrats on new approval and new case complete people.

i am so happy for you all.

when i was in my country, i noticed that my parents are getting old. so i wish them to be here with me very fast.

today i called NVC and i got my case number and iv number .

so i try to log in on https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx.

    but it shows

    ign In Failed

The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered do not match our records. Please try again or click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you have forgotten your Case Number or Invoice Identification Number.

i look around and some said it is case complete. but i am sure my case in not yet. because i haven't don't anything and this is my first time sign in to pay 88$.

so please someone tell me what is going on.

i am so confused . should i call NVC again?

    thanks.

You need to check and make sure you have the correct ID number and case number. Its not a case complete until you have submitted and they have reviewed all supporting documentation. I would call NVC to make sure you have the correct numbers.

My mom passed her interview, but they put her case in administrative processing. He police certificate did not have her maiden name on it. It did occur to me when I was translating that that was strange, but since I did not think the Russian police had messed up (and I should have), and NVC did not say anything was wrong, I assumed it was ok.

Anyway, getting another certificate will take about 6 weeks.

As soon as the consulate has it in hand, they will send my mom's passport with the visa to her.

Aw Shame about the police cert but hopefully an easy quick fix and congrats on your Mom passing her interview :)

  4. I'm sending out the civil docs today - can y'all just run your eye over my list real fast and make sure that I haven't forgotten anything? I have the barcoded cover sheet on top and a cover letter following that followed by this list:

    • 2 x Passport style Photographs
    • Photocopy of Bio-data page of beneficiary passport
    • Beneficiary birth certificate (Certified copy)
    • Beneficiary birth certificate (Photocopy)
    • Marriage certificate (Original)
    • Marriage certificate (photocopy)
    • Police certificate (Original)
    • Police certificate (photocopy)
    • Petitioner Birth certificate (Certified copy)
    • Petitioner Birth Certificate (Photocopy)
    • Petitioner Marriage certificate (Certified copy)
    • Petitioner Marriage certificate (Photocopy)

The originals are with my Mum's packet and my Dad's packet has a sticky note on the photocopy of each document explaining where the original is. I also put that explanation in my cover letter, just to be safe :)

  5. So I just got off of the phone with the NVC, they have recieved and reviewed all the civil documents that we have sent (AOS packet, IV packet) the rep said all looks good. They have accepted the DS 261 (Agent of choice application), they are now just waiting to review the DS260 (Immigration Visa Application) so that can be added to the case. She said to wait for 30 business days. :crying: Do y'all really think it will take 30business days, since all other civil documents are in order and all the fees have been paid?

I also asked what month they are scheduling interviews, and the lady said that they are still scheduling for April interviews. I also asked what month the London embassy is still scheduling interviews, and the lady said still for April.... :clock::clock: so does my husband have any hope for getting an interview this month, or is the NVC rep lady just lying?

I think they will all quote the standard 30 business days but honestly looking at the trend of the way that they have been cranking out approvals for documents submitted, I think that you will hear something before then. Its good news if London is still scheduling interviews too for this month.

  6. You can always get on the phone with tier 2 at USCIS and ask them if your case has physically left the service center yet if you're getting worried. I hope they'll get it to NVC for you soon!

I echo Bos_Lhr. You should definitely call USCIS and ask if it has physically left the building then track that sucker until you know it has arrived at the NVC just to make sure it doesn't get shipped to the national records center by mistake. I have seen that happen on here.

  7. Parents' done interview and visa approved! :D Now, booking their flight :). Thank you guys for sharing helpful information while on this journey. :)

Huge congrats!! Very happy for you and your parents :)

Thank you :) any idea when to expect the interview?

It depends on your embassy and how high the volume is. In Egypt for example they have been waiting since September 2013, whereas most other countries usually will schedule 1-2 months after the case is completed at the NVC.

  8. You don't have a timeline so I am not quite sure where you are right now with regards to how far ahead your mom is. I don't understand why you can't just wait until your Dad's case catches up. If it is at the NVC right now with your Mom's, then they will be joined and a single interview would be given. Your father cannot just show up at the embassy and be given a greencard for permanent residency. He also will not be allowed into the embassy with your mom if she is given an interview which just has her name on it.

  9. Case complete today..what to do next??

Congrats! Now it will get shipped to the Embassy and you will have an interview scheduled.

got a checklis tfor AOS for forgetting an "x" in Part 4 item 12 for military deployment. oh well :(

Oh no, not cool, but at least its something minor that can easily be fixed and they are working overtime at the NVC so hopefully you will have it checked off quickly.

Cuz on I864 part 4, they ask for Alien number. Do I need to fill that out?? she's USC. And I have a copy of her passport. She couldnt find her naturalization certificate

She does not need it if she is a USC.

Finally they found my Dad's AOS and accepted it (it was as I expected filed incorrectly with my Mum's file. I think the multiple emails and constantly hounding them last week had effect :P). So glad to not have a checklist with their AOS packets!

  10. Can I just say how much I absolutely LOVE Todd at the NVC? I was so happy to hear his voice on the line. He recognized my name and was all chatty, and took his time in looking up my case information. He delved into my Dad's missing AOS and as we were speaking on the phone, he told me that they had found the AOS with my Mum's file and it had just been accepted today into my Dad's file. Yippee! He encouraged me to send in all the civil documents. I have a barcode sheet for my Mum but not for my Dad and he said I could create my own cover sheet and the mailroom would print off a barcode sheet, but I think that's a little risky, so I am going to wait until I pay my Dad's IV fee and can fill in the DS-260 and print the barcode sheet off to send both sets of docs in together, as there is only one original marriage certificate etc.

He also said they were catching up at the NVC and processing faster due to being on mandatory overtime working sat and sun for the past 2 weeks.

I told him that I wished I could just have his direct extension lol so that I could ask him questions each time and get an answer from someone who knows what they are talking about.

  11. le sigh.... the saga with my Dad's case continues... They still haven't located his AOS (that was in the SAME envelope but separated from my Mum's). I'm just going to put together another today and send it on its way. They also sent me an email on Friday to ask me to fill in his DS-261...uh I did that already... like a MONTH ago. I have come to the conclusion that nobody in Immigration has a clue what the heck they are doing. On a more positive note, I think they pulled his file and that is what generated that email as today the yellow triangle is showing beside the IV fee. I'm so frustrated that we are having issues at the NVC level

  12. when do they send an AOS checlist? mine was received last week...

I also paid the IV bills for both mum and dad.

I have their certified docs that they mailed me from UK, I just have to wait for their UK police certificate.

I guess I will get mum to book their medical in Knightsbridge end of April or beginning of May?

My AOS was received on the 10th of March and accepted by them yesterday. I was on the phone actually to them when I got an email "checklist" from them requesting to pay the IV fee, so I would say about 2 weeks ish to get a check list?. The problem is though, they haven't added the AOS to my Dads file... I'm pissed that it got mis-filed.

I am going to wait until we have everything submitted and accepted before they schedule their medical. I heard of an instance where someone had scheduled the medical in London and they were advised that if their file was not at the embassy that they shouldn't do the medical yet, as there would be no file to join the medical up to and it may get lost. I am hoping that NVC will get their act together so I can submit the final IV package and pay my Dads IV fee. I had hoped that we would be looking at April for the medical but I think its going to be closer to May now.
