  1. June ROC California Service Center filer here WAC17265. I had my citizenship interview today and my ROC was approved  before I took the test. I came to the interview with my husband, but the officer said he doesn’t need him and that he should stay in the waiting room. There were no questions about our marriage being real or anything, just standard form questions. It was the same officer who interviewed me for my conditional green card 3 years ago and he was very nice and friendly.

Good luck to the ones still waiting!

  2. I had my citizenship interview this morning and I passed! It was a combo interview for citizenship and my pending case of ROC. They were running about 30 minutes late, so we had to wait a while and then the officer took me in and said my husband doesn’t need to come with me even for the ROC part of the interview. It was the same officer who interviewed me 3 years ago for my conditional green card. He was super friendly and we talked about this and that a little. The interview took about 30 minutes total mainly because of the software being slow. I answered the questions off the form and gave 6 correct answers on the citizenship test, read and wrote a simple sentence and was approved on the spot.

My oath ceremony is October 18th!

Just checked my status, still says case was received by the local office. WAC17256 CSC, saw couple WAC17269 got approved, wonder why my status has not changed? Maybe because I also filed N400, and they will have to wait for the combo interview? Anyone on the same boat?

My case number is WAC17265 and no status changes. I have filled for naturalization and my interview is October 1st. When I went in for biometrics they told me right away they are combining my two cases, so I am bringing my husband with me to the interview since it’s a combo one.

Dang, I saw that you filed after me but I don't have my interview yet. Stupid Spokane. :(

Sorry about that! Spokane office is not super slammed, so I am sure yours will be scheduled shortly! Meanwhile  I can’t believe my interview is in less than 2 weeks! I make my husband test me every night even though I memorized everything already. Can’t wait to be done dealing with formalities!

Anybody here with an interview date for n400 but still pending i751? ROC june filer CSC (still pending u.u) last update was Feb 26 saying they transferred the case to local office but never got information on it or can't get any answer about the transfer. I applied for naturalization in June this year and got my interview date on the naturalization case next month so just wondering if anybody here has actually going through it without hearing any update on the pending ROC. I know there are people where they say they do the dual interview and all that but would like to know if that is actually True and how it works. Did they notify about it on the other pending case or if they didn't, did they just approve the naturalization without issues?

I am a June 2017 ROC filer. I have a naturalization interview October 1st. No update on ROC, but when I came in for my biometrics appointment they only scanned 4 fingers on my right hand and said, oh we see your pending ROC case and we’re combining them now, so your ROC will be adjudicated at your naturalization interview. Also I moved and changed the address and had to file it for both cases and I got a letter from USCIS also saying my cases are combined and they have updated the address accordingly. So I know they are not going to look at my ROC case before the interview in October. I am not worried about it, but I will come to the interview with my husband, since they are going to do ROC at that interview as well. When is your interview?

I never received a physical letter, so I think you might be right. Good luck on your journey!

Thank you! I think in my case they actually did update the address, because they also sent me a naturalization interview letter and it has my new address on it. And they are not going to look at my green card case until the combined interview on October 1. Never hurts to ask when I am there though.

I strongly recommend calling USCIS to ask them what address they have on file for you now. I changed my address back in March and received the same email, however, they never updated the address for my, pending at that time, I-751 petition. That caused me a lot of trouble and stress because they sent my approval letter and the new GC to my old address.

I read your posts. Thank you! But I also received a physical letter from USCIS at my new address stating they have updated it for my n-400 form and it has changed in my online profile on the dhs website. The email was for my I-751 and that’s why it was only an email and no letter I guess, because the cases are now combined. I also will have to do an infopass shortly to get my stamp, because I have to renew my drivers licence, so I will confirm it with them again then.

Has anyone here been called for an I-751 interview, specifically in Chicago? We just got a letter requesting my husband go for an interview and I come with in three weeks. I was really shocked to see it because I was under the assumption that it would get approved randomly and interviews were only for people with red flags .. but I was very thorough with paperwork and showing legitimacy of our relationship so now I'm a little worried! Any experience with this? We've already filed for citizenship so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it? Any advice is appreciated!

Did you check which form is it for in the top right corner? It’s probably a combined interview. I also applied for citizenship and got an interview letter and it says that it’s for N-400. Also I had to change the address recently and filed that online and they sent me an email stating:

Recently, you contacted us to update your address. We have updated your address in our systems and on your application or petition.

Recently, you contacted us about the status of your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, filed on June 22, 2017.  On June 27, 2018, you also filed a Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.  Our records indicate that your Form I-751 and Form N-400 are currently pending and will be adjudicated at the same time.

  9. Mine still says Received on February 26th.

    I have a theory though 😄

When we were going through a K-1 process there was something similar on the consulate website. First it said case received on one date and later it changed to a later date and that was because first they received electronic case and later the actual paperwork came in the mail.

So can anybody check if your first case update is still showing in the case history? When you check on uscis website you can normally see the whole history- all case updates.

  10. I am glad people started posting their updates here! Big thank you from me!

I also checked my case and the case number from extension letter says my case was received at the local office(Spokane, WA) on 26th of February. Whereas the one from biometrics appointment  letter says no update(received June 22 2017). California Service Center.

Also I have a friend who filed in March 2017 and I asked her to check her case too and her extension letter case number showed her case was received in her local office today (February 27th). She lives in Maine, not sure what service center they belong to and where the lical office is.

How long roughly is the biometrics appointment? I know some people on here have had theirs. Got a lot to do that day hope I can fit it all in :).

    Thanks all

Shouldn't take any longer than 15 minutes. That is if you start on time. Sometimes there are some difficulties with taking fingerprints for example, then it might take longer.

Well, at least now you know ACS Notice has not been lost and you are not missing your appointment!!

I think it wasn't scheduled, yet, because of your local USCIS Field Office - probably they are backlogged..

That's a nice way of looking at it. In my head the fact they they hasn't scheduled it yet sounds nicer than the thought of me missing one that has been scheduled.

So I called USCIS again... now this time I told them that I received the letter 30 days ago, so they transferred me to a Tier 2 agent and they checked my receipt number and they said that there's nothing scheduled for my biometrics appointment yet and that I should call again in August to see if there's something new.

This is so frustrating, I don't know what to do anymore! :(

It is very frustrating. On the bright side though completing biometrics sooner or later probably won't change thier general processing time. It doesn't take a year to do a background check, however it does take a year(or however long) for the immigration officer to look at cases with completed check. Trying to stay positive like that.

My NOA1 date is also June 8 and I still haven't received a biometrics letter yet. Yesterday I finally called USCIS and talked to a Tier 1 guy. Since it's been 34 days he put me on hold, contacted my local office and when he got back to me he told me that they are going to send out a letter very soon and that I can call back on August 13th (30 days later I guess) if I still haven't received anything by then. I really hope that my letter is on its way now ...

Thank you for updating us. This might be very helpful. Hope you get your biometrics letter soon

Well, my AOS took 15 months... Probably, it was our "pay back" for extremely fast I-129f - 3 weeks from submission to NOA2 :):) soooo, should we expect 'fast"  ROC? :)

here is a link, June 2016 I-751 filers... Page 143 has the latest spreadsheet.. At least gives us some idea how long it takes, currently

Ha ha, Idk maybe you will have a fast ROC. Only God knows. My i-129 was quick too 42 days from NOA-1 to NOA-2 (I had an RFE, submitted wrong birth certificate form for my husband) and 91 days all together from NOA-1 till I got my visa approved.

That's a good idea!  Probably, if your bio appointment was scheduled, but you just have not received the Letter, but you are still not late too make it - the local Office could print it for you.. Sometimes it happens. Depends on the person you will meet there, of course, but anyway  - ACS appointment is up to your field Office, and I don't see a reason why should you wait 30 days, for example, if appointment was scheduled and you still can make it  .. why just not to print it out and let you be there on time..

Hopefully, you'll receive the Notice before 24th..

I thought I'd at least show my serious intentions not to miss any appointments and also if I receive my letter before then I can always cancel it.

My AOS was completed in 77 days. I guess this time around with ROC USCIS. wants to give me a much harder time.

I just called them and they told me I should wait at least 30 days from the day I received the letter (not 30 days from the date on the letter) and that I should call again when the 30 days are completed. I followed your previous post with the same questions.

This really frustrates me, I guess I will have to wait until Monday to call again. :(

I called too, had no luck with tier 2 either. However I had a nice lady that seemed more or less knowledgeable and she said not to worry too much even if we miss our appointment it will be rescheduled. The main thing is to follow the steps. To let them know we never received a letter and that's why we never made it for the appointment and then to make a service request after 30 days.

However I also booked a time and date for an infopass at my local office for the 24th(32 days after my NOA-1 date), since they are the ones who actually do biometrics and also talking to a real person(not people reading answers off the screen) might help things.
