Yes, you can travel with the K3 visa (and any visa required for the country you are visiting).
Advance parole is not applicable to the K3.

Lovely pictures! I like the one of the temple. The amount of history in other parts of the world always amazes me.

Same here. Used yellow highlighter (no crazy colors) to mark up dates (especially when we were trying to show the span of our marriage and how bank accounts remained the same).

omg...what a horrible experience. That moment when he said "I am a friend of America" is just heartbreaking. So so sorry for this. I think it was partly a power trip on the side of the customs officials. I agree with everyone else, make sure you get some official word on this, the WHY and the how on how this could happen.
Best to your husband and son. This should have been a happy family reunion, not another immigration nightmare.

This reminds me of a funny video I once saw. There's a 3 year old being filmed by his father who asks him "Show how daddy plays golf". The kid takes his plastic club, swings it, and then throws it across the room, while saying "Dam#it!". It was hilarious. Apparently his father has issues with anger management....

I'm annoyed by Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes.

Yesterday I finally did my 3 miles in 27 minutes - a 9' mile pace. I'm going to look back in the thread and see how long I've been trying to make that goal!
Wow! That is awesome. I can't go past 7.5 and even at that, only about 60 seconds before gasping for breath.
Ohh...what a great thread! Hopefully a wealth of information for losing that weight. My friends use to tell me you gain weight after marriage and I thought...no, that won't happen, we'll go for walks together, he's a sports guy so he'll make sure I stay fit. LOL.....right....

In any event it's all normal and just treasure every second in that airport waiting for him because it's like no other feeling in the world!!!
Oh, I totally agree. I love seeing the pictures I took when he first came through those double doors after passing customs. You crane your neck waiting and waiting.
I think the realization that you are finally together and there will be no more sad goodbyes is so hard to believe.
Anyway, don't worry about not talking before he comes either. He is so busy saying his own family goodbyes, packing and just moving this whole life, it is understandable. I think its hard on you because you are so used to talking a certain amount of time each day that its hard when it starts to change....and why it will change!

If your spouse has a computer at home….download Skype and register it under the U.S Spouse address with a CC. once you purchased the credits..its only .02 cents a min to call PC to phone in U.S ( U.S registered Skype account calling a U.S Phone).…. Local text message is free (I think) …. Who wants to text when you can call for .02 cents a minute … she calls my cell and office phone …for that rate and the call quality is clear ....
I agree that this is a good option. The only obstacle is if you live in an area where DSL or any type of interent access is spotty. Or those dreaded power cuts.

Thanks for all the input!

Just want to get some people's advice on a problem for a friend.
It was after the AOS interview that my friend (she is the USC) changed her last name to her husband's family name. But b/c her husband does not use his family name in "official" paperwork, she had to go through a court name change (not based on their marriage certificate).
For example, his name is John Smith Familyname. But in all his paperwork, he is just John Smith. But she is now officially Jane Familyname thanks to the courts.
Now when filing the 1-751, should they note the name change somewhere or explain it? Maybe a copy of her passport with the madien name and a copy of it showing her new last name? Her first name is very unique (and with passport photos too) its kind obvious its the same person.
But I told her not to take anything for granted. Anything you think she needs to do?
Has anyone had a similiar situation?

This is all crazy. How much dang proof do they need.
LOL...would be nice to now wouldn't it? This whole letters/no letters reminds me of the vaccanation debacle for when we did AOS. Some people didn't send it and got a RFE, others got no RFE.
We're running short on time so gonna have my dad write one and send it off. If they ask for more, we'll provide them later. Heck, just want to get in line now!!
How is your process coming along Peggy?

Very good. Thanks for the input all. I think we may only use one letter (from parent) and then tons of other evidence. They don't require the letters so its not as if the packet would be incomplete without them....

When choosing people to write your letters of support for the removal of conditions, who did you choose? Mostly friends and neighbors? Have people used their parents or siblings (or other family members)?
There seems to be a lot of discussion on even sending the affdavit of support in the first place. So for those that did send one (or 2 or 3...) I was interested in seeing exactly who people asked.

Did everything work out for you in placing your married name as the family name on the 1-751?
At AOS I hadn't changed to my married name yet. Would that make a difference?

I tried this site a while back but it seems that the message got there almost 2 days later. What has been your experience? Does it usually take this long or is it instant?

When I talked to my travel agent in US, they said they cannot buy tickets for my wife from US because the journey is originating in India. They can buy tickets for Air India, but I don't want to fly Air India because of operational/logistic issues.
I would look for another agent who doesn't get kick backs for selling Air India tickets.

Excellent advice and resources everyone. Very much appreciated!!

These videos are great! My best friend is Punjabi (and a Sikh), so I've been watching these/listening to Punjabi remixes for years. Thanks for posting!!
A hearty "Sat Sri Akal" to your friend!
Punjabi remixes are the only thing that keep me going on the treadmill!!

Thanks for the advice. She's got her mom who is helping to guide her through the lessons and explain things for her, but she doesn't have access to the curric that might help her teach the content better. I thought there might be some math workbooks that could help or any other resources for her. Or I was thinking about getting a HS student that wants to make extra money tutoring.

My neice is entering 7th grade in the fall and unfortunately, her 6th grade teacher was not the best (actually fired at the end of this year) and now my neice has fallen behind in her math and algebra.
There are entire chapters that the teacher appeard to have skipped about basics of algebra.
Can anyone recommend resources for helping her get up to speed? We're willing to buy software, purchase any recommened books or visit any websites for reference material.
She's got all summer!!
