  1. Hi guys,

I read on the uscis website, they said that "Application for Naturalization may not be APPROVED if the removal of condition is still pending". By "Approved", do they mean they are going to ACCEPT our application and leave it at pending until they approve the petition of removal condition? Or they will refuse our application at the first place?

It's quite confusing or am I thinking too much? lol

    Any idea, guys?

    Thanks :)

  2. Hi guys,

Today I got another letter from USCIS saying that they MIGHT sent an extension letter with WRONG information, they asked me to check again and if it's wrong, send it back to them, otherwise just dis-regard it. I wonder if anyone got an extension letter from wrong info. If so, which info could have been wrong? I checked mine and nothing looked wrong besides the fact that they put my name on both petitioner's name and petition's name.

    Thanks

I doubt this is accurate, whoever told you at the local USCIS office might not be truthful. In other similar threads (July 2017 filers https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/639733-i-751-july-2017-filers/?page=174, or other recent ones from 2017) show multiple data points where applicants filed for N400 while ROC was still pending. They did get their interview scheduled for N400. you may be interviewed for both at the same time.

But I heard that we cannot provide RFE anymore, they can’t just fail our application without request for any more information. With this be a risk?

I agree.  This whole thing is such a mess.  So glad Norwegian was so accommodating. That's good to keep in mind in case of emergency.

The I-797 does state on there that it serves to extend the GC for a year from the expiration date. But every government department you go to has its own view on how things work (often with no understanding).

I'm not even going to start on the whole ordeal at the DMV last month, with countless documents and pieces of paper. Got there with no line and left - finally - two hours later. Kind of sad how they treat people who go through the legal process, pay the fees and 3.5 years later we are still running around with bits and pieces of paper just to complete a simple task that we once never gave a second thought about doing.

We've just decided that we will not travel outside the US until we have my citizenship completed.

So which documents do they require at the DMV? Do I "have to" have the info pass stamp on my passport in order to renew my driver license? or can I just give them the I-797?

I am going there next week to renew my driver license and I'm so confused. :(

And if there WERE a receipt number, that would imply that they had already processed the application and that the NOA would not be far behind... which essentially would negate the need for a stamp on the passport!

The stamp on your passport is supposed to be used to extend your legal status for ONE MORE YEAR after a year from the NOA1 expires. So there is no need to ask for a stamp now while waiting for NOA1, they wont process that request.

I attached a G-1145 with my ROC packet that I filed in Feb 2018. I didn't receive any notification that it was delivered/accepted, but my NOA was processed fine and delivered within a week so it won't cause a rejection.  Hopefully the CSC will start moving on NOAs for you guys soon and biometrics for everybody. From these threads people who filed in Dec 2017 are still waiting for biometric appointment letters...

that's so great to know!! thanks so much...:)

You don't receive any sort of notice from USCIS about how/when to do the Removal of Conditions.

It's your responsibility to keep track of when you are eligible to file, and the date you are supposed to file by.

    Hey,

    Thanks for your opinion.

But I heard you get some kind of documents from them before filling for ROC, right?

  8. Hi everyone,

When I file the form I-751, there is a question asking if I have resided anywhere since I became a permanent resident.

So, I got my green card in July 2016, then in August 2016 we moved to a new place.

How should I write in the “detail part” in the end of the form? My old address, new address or both?

    .

I also see on uscis website that we can file online? Has anyone here done that before? I would appreciate any opinion!!

    Thank you guys!..^_^
