Sorry for the late reply.
Due to CoVid, my parents' applications were in DQ idle mode 😅 from September and November last year and only got to the HCMC consulate in March. They scheduled both my parents for an interview on April 19.
I hope that helps.
We scanned the photos and uploaded them on the NVC website.
Thanks Thao,
They scheduled my mom interview as well. Unfortunately, she was not able to get all the vaccines at the same time, she was asked to come back to get the other vaccine in the end of May when her interview is May 18. Do you think they will still consider to approve her case and she can get all the vaccines when she comes to the US or she will be rejected?
Thanks

Hi guys,
We got an email from NVC saying they approved my mom’s case so I thought they sent her case to Vietnam and we were waiting for her interview to be scheduled. However, I checked today and her case is still at NVC’s step.
Do you why and how long it approx. takes until it’s sent to vietnam?
Thanks y’all.

Hi Vietnamese friends,
do you know how long it takes from the time NVC approve your DS-260 form to the time your parents get the interview notice from the consulate in HCMC?
Thanks

Hi guys,
My mom case got approved and transferred to NVC for processing, we already paid for both fees on their website. I guess now she will start to collect the "Civil Documents" for her visa, but I did not see any document regarding to Health Check or Vaccination Report.
She's from Vietnam. Do you know the list of all documents she needs to prepare?
Thank you guys so much!

There seems to be a general trend to want to get the passport first. I don't really know why since any changes to existing ID documents, bank accounts etc are linked to your name as held by the SS office. I would definitely make the SSN number the first on the list because you can walk in to present the certificate of name change and naturalization and take it away with you. Once you have this done, then you can send off for the passport. If you do both on the same day there will be no delay in applying for your passport immediately.
What so many people overlook is that your SSN is needed to apply/change/update your Drivers License. The name and nationality held on the SSA database is the one that will be used to verify your ID. Also the SS office sends any updates through to the IRS so if you're filing taxes after your name change and before you have updated your Social Security details, you will need to enter your information on your tax return under your old name. Following onto this, you need your Drivers License or state ID to make changes with the bank and anywhere else you want to change your name on your accounts.
The Passport Office is the only place that holds onto your original naturalization (and name change if applicable) certificates for several weeks or even a couple of months. I see no merit in applying for this first when you can literally spend one day knocking out all the places you need to make changes and updates and walk out of each one with your certificates in hand and then immediately apply for the passport.Thank you very much!!!!

As far as my memory can remember I submitted the following:for my mom:
-My birth cert
-Scanned copy of my US passport (bio page)
-My marriage cert (since my last name changed)
-Her birth cert
for my dad:
-Marriage Cert-His birth cert
-My birth cert
-Scanned copy of my US passport
-My marriage cert
If you are filing online, it will tell you what documents you need before you submit your application.
Thank you very much!
Hi Guys,
I have a question regarding to the Online Application.
My dad passed away 11 years ago, so do I have to put his information under "Parent 2"?
Thanks

Hi. I did not include any passport photos. If you are filing online, it will tell you what documents you need to submit.
Do you remember which document they require?
that would help a lot as I am applying for my mom this week..
thank you very much in advance.

Read some fake news on Facebook saying Trump is signing a law to forbid sponsoring parents...
Anyone knows anything about this news?
Hope it’s fake!..:(

Hello everyone,
I am about to sponsor my mom to the US but not so sure about what document I should prepare.
Does anyone here have a full list of all the documents I should prepare? It will be much much appreciated!
Thanks

In our case, the officer looked at bank statements too. These were downloaded online. Did not ask for original from bank directly. I assume it varies. Some officers may not look at everything. Others do. Read the notification letter. As I recall ours close to bottom clearly stated that all uploaded documents need to be brought in.
yeah, they said if copies were submitted, then bring original.
Well, I guess I'll bring everything just to be safe..
Thank youuuu

As I recall, the notification letter asks you to bring all the documents you uploaded online. The originals. During interview in Atlanta, the officer looked at them.
Oh man! Including bank statements?

Hi guys

I have a question: do I have to bring EVERY DOCUMENT I have submitted to my online form to the interview? Or what documents should I bring to the interview?
Thanks guys!
