  1. Ditto here. Looking at Baltimore's processing times, as of the end of May, they'd completed all of the case who filed in September 14, so there's a chance we won't have our cases finalized until November...

This doesn't stop me from checking my mail box *everyday* and my online status more than that. Keeping fingers crossed and hope that we all here something soon.

There is a girl from the February group that just got her interview scheduled in Baltimore.
  2. Hello everyone! We had our interview today.

    Interview time 8:30.

    ARRIVED 8:00

called to interview waiting room 8:17

Brought back to interview room 8:42

Interviewer-So how did you two meet?

    Us- through mutual friends.

    I- when was that?

    U- 2011

I- when did you start dating?

    U- immediately

    I- when was it serious?

    U- after a few months.

Interviewer paused and looked through papers.

I- (speaking to me, I had a different hair color in photos) is this actually you in the photos submitted?

Me- yes, I stopped dying my hair.

I- can you verify your name, ssn, address, date of birth, date of marriage, and phone number?

    Me- I verified all info.

    Husband- verified his same info.

I- (TO HUSBAND) have you ever been arrested?

    Husband- yes.

Me- (jumping in before she could say anytning) we have here the citation report, dismissal report, and a letter from chief deputy stating there is no police report.

I- good I'm glad you were honest because I have already seen all of this and was going to deny if you tried to hide it.

    Us-*nervous smiles*

I- do you have any more information to submit?

*gives her joint bank statement, rent agreement, rent receipt, electric statement, post office box registered to both of us*

    I- good. Thanks.

I- I need to check a few things, it may take a few minutes.

*we all make small talk while her computer loads.*

    I- do you have children?

*gives her BC for child and tell her about how cool he is*

I- have you been on government assistance?

    US - no.

I- ok I am recommending you for approval.

Thank heavens. Her name was Buckley and she was terrifyingly serious the whole time. I really wasn't sure what the outcome would be.

    My advice,

    Be truthful.

Make sure all copies of everything are official stamped/originals.

Do you mind sharing why your husband was arrested for? I have a similar situation as I was arrested before as well. I know that question is Gona come on the interview.

    Thanks

  3. Looking at my interview letter and for my surprise its going to be in Jacksonville FL and not Atlanta like I was thinking. Also, August 24th is a Monday and not Friday like I thought (I was so excited when I got the email with the date that I looked at July 24th).

Congrats to everybody here getting their approvals and to the ones still waiting hopefully you will hear something really soon.

  4. I have a friend that said on his interview letter it was written to not take children to the interview (I thought it was weird) I have another friend who took her daughter and she said it went great.

Our baby is going to turn 2 in August, we won't have a choice but to take her with us, we don't have anybody to watch her. I would love to hear back from you guys in case you do take them.

  5. I can't even check my status with the ios app it says "Validation error" and from the uscis website it says" Validation Error Code 1422" I'm checking my status for 5 days over the USCIS service number. So annoying and I'm day 71 :(

I dnt understand why people check their status everyday, is it just impatience? Lol. Aren't we supposed to get a text and email when the status change?
  6. I got 3 emails, when they approved mine. They are actually not all the same, first was "we ordered you a new card", second was "card is in production" and third was "your case was approved and we sent your a notice". So probably you received all of those + emails about AP as well, if you applied for this one too :)

You will be fine. It's been only 31 day so far, so you still have enough time. If you send it on Tuesday, they will probably get it on Thursday or Friday. Don't worry to much about it, you are completely ok. I think the most important question is how long the will review it, cuz for example look at my timeline, they received it a month ago and I still haven't heard anything back. Anyway good luck!

Some are different, I just noticed, but some say the same thing and I did not apply for AP.
  7. Ah dang! cause i sent it all in a AOS package so its altogether!

i can work for a year so if i were to be denied then i cant be here?... what would happen to the card? i assume just be invalid?

yes i think its good im happy as now i can finally work because our daughter is on her way in august! i need to be bringing in money asap!

You sent it all together but they are processed separately, getting approved for EAD dnt necessarily means you will get approved for green card. If you are asking about what happen to EAD card if denied AOS, yes it becomes invalid.

  8. I don't get the American credit score at all. So if someone just moves to the US and brings with them $100,000 to put in the bank, the credit score will still be bad??? A credit score is just about how you handle your credit and has nothing to do with your income or savings, so even if you don't need to buy something on credit, you should still do it just to improve your credit score, is that how it works???

Correct, they wana see your ability to handle credit and pay on time. How much money you have dnt matter. I pay EVERYTHING with a credit card (even my apartment rent) and pay it all back before statement cuts. I have many cards that give me miles and cash back so as long as I am not carrying a balance from month to month ( which would lead to be charged interest ) it is a win win when you use credit card.

Quoting what you said " you should buy on credit to improve credit" that's not necessarily right, using credit dnt improve the score, there are many factors that influence the score like length of account history, payments on time, credit mix (revolving credit, mortgage, car loan, personal loan) all this things have different affects on the score.

I already posted but I will say it one more time, lol GO TO http://ficoforums.myfico.com/?cm_sp=mobile-_-bottom-_-community

Finding myfico.com 3 years ago was one of the best things that happened to me.

  9. Depending on how much money you have in your bank account, wouldn't that help build a credit score?! Or is it just based on how good you are with handling your credit and they don't care how much money you have in the bank or can save up?

By the way, found this link to Forbes, discussing how to improve your credit score:

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/moneybuilder/2014/05/02/11-ways-to-raise-your-credit-score-fast/

Money in the bank does not affect credit score at all.
  10. Ppl gave a lot of good tips but also some don't know what they are talking about. Go to myfico.com and read their forum section. It's like reading VJ forum lots of good information there. You will learn everything you need to know, which lenders are easy to get approved with low and no score at all, which cards are better and how to use them to efficiently increase your score.

Some people here said that adding to a phone bill and paying on time helps, I personally doubt that because phone companies and any other utility company don't report to the bureaus.

There is so much to learn about credit and in VJ you won't learn 1% of it. Go to myfico.com and read their forum like you do here.

  11. OMG, just checked my cases not even hoping for any good news and had a nice surprise that my EAD was approved today and card is in production. I'm almost crying right now and can't believe it's finally happening, cuz I've been sitting home for almost 7 month now since my visa has expired. So happy :)

Today is a day 73 from the date on my NOA1 for I-765 and I did count the date as day 1.

That's great news, I wrote to you last night for you not to worry that you would be approved in regular time. Lol

  12. Hi Tweety22,

Nope, nope, I've been checking both my email and my status like a hundred times every day, but no changes so far, which is really frustrating :(

I tried to open a service inquiry today, but the USCIS representative told me that since we had an RFE we will need to wait up to 60 days after they received it to open an inquiry. I got really upset, but I'm not sure that it's a 100% truth, because I've seen people getting they EAD approvals around the normal processing time even if they had RFE too. Also it seemed like he doesn't really know anything and was just reading the information from their website. So I don't know what to think, I'm slowly loosing any hope to hear something anytime soon :(

Did you try to inquiry about EAD? Because you didn't pass 75 days yet, just be patient, I bet you will get EAD approved on regular time.
  13. Hi everyone - I have a few questions:

-We are moving at the end of June and I'm beginning to get worried we might not have an interview by then. I know we simply change our address online, but if/when we get an ointerview will we have to trek back to this part of the country for it or will they switch offices? (Currently in Indianapolis, likely next office in NYC) Does this delay things?

-Is there anything to do to speed up EAD at this point in our process? I don't think so, but we're desperate since his employment ends June 31 and the next job begins July 1 if he can provide EAD!

    Thanks!

    Looking at your timeline,

I dnt see why your EAD wouldn't be approved before the end of June
