  1. Good morning, I applied for my mom August 2020. I have only gotten the acceptance notice. At the bottom of the notice it says Potomac had sent the notice. But when I check the online status this is what it says: (Look in the picture) I don't know what to do because Nebraska is already in November 2020 according to proccessing times but Potomac is only in January 2020. It has been so long without getting even the approval. I am scared that if I do the inquiry they would put my case at the bottom of the waiting list and I would have to wait even longer. Anybody else has been in this situation? Thanks in advance.

I applied for my parents in July 2020 and parents priority date is end of July 2020. Parents are in Pakistan

Ever since, I have only gotten the receipt from USCIS. My service center is Potomac Service Center.

Anyone have any update on what the timelines are? Anyone's parents PD in July 2020 and service center is Potomac who received approval for I-130 recently? Trying to see if things are moving again.

I applied in August 2020 and I haven't gotten anything else either. Also Potomac

  3. Hello everybody, any updates on the cases? I applied for my mom August 2020 and still haven't heard anything. I have a friend who applied for her mom in January 2021 and she got approved today. My case is in Potamoc service center. I emailed them and they said if it is not out of proccessing times I needed to keep waiting but how long I still need to wait? Thanks

  4. Congratulations!!!

I applied Last August  for my mom and I still haven't heard anything. I don't see any August folder in the forum. I have seen some people have gotten some RFE, Idk if I should start getting prepared ASAP. My mom didn't register me until I was over a year old. My birth certificate was the only evidence I submitted it. What do you guys thing?

Around 12 months .....  but right now the issuance of the IR 5 visa is suspended through presidential EO. Until that is lifted the petition won’t get out of NVC.. no interviews for IR5 will beheld while the order is in place. I think it currently runs through the end of the year

Does this order include parents and family members? so is there a point on applying right now or Should I just wait?

The process for parents IR5 is the same process as for a spouse .. just the documentation for the initial I 130 will be different and some of the civil documents at the NVC stage are different you.
Fill in your previous addresses as accurately as possible using month and year. Your past 5 years is a different period of time to the 5 years previous when you completed the DS260 fir your initial spouse visa.
Yes you can translate your own BC. You will need to testify that it is accurate and sign the translation .. the wording needed us in the instructions for each form.

I remember all the exact addresses I have lived in the past 5 years but not the exact months.  I had to answer to the same question on my application for naturalization. I just wonder if they compared applications because all I can give is estimates.

What's your particular issue? Is there a question you're having trouble with on the I-130?

I just started filling the application online. Where it asks me about the places I have lived in the past 5 years, I don't remember the exact dates because I have moved a lot. Is there a problem if the dates are not the exact same as when I filled my past applications? Also Can I translate my own birth certificate? The guides are confusing. I found more help when I was doing the process for myself than now trying to apply for my mom.

  8. I just wanted to let everyone know that we got approved yesterday... It was an easy interview... Easier than we expected... I was worry because It was confusing the thing about filing taxes from abroad and marriage jointly... Also about reestablishing residence... We brought a lot of papers to the interview and nothing was asked... I guess they got enough with the evidence we sent in the first and second package...

My advice for people applying: Send good evidence in the first package and have good financial support for the second one...

We didn't use lawyers... We just followed everything on this page and read a lot here...When I say a lot is a lot...

This page is very helpful.... And people here are very nice....

Thanks to God and to Visajourney for all the help we got.... :dancing::dancing::dancing:

  9. You made a mistake. Commas and the or means separate things. You can not be refused a US Visa at a POE. Visas are not issued at POE. You should have answered yes because you were refused a US visa to visit.

Yeah you are right. I misunderstood that question.... I thought it was just asking for the port of entry.... :( How can I do to fix it? Shall I call the embassy?
