seems like most people have gotten their visa that’s why this thread is now dead.   I used to see a lot of congratulations when people get their visa.

My wife's reaffirmed interview was 10/30/2017.  She was approved but the officer didnt issue the visa because he wasnt satisfied with the financial documents.  He wanted a letter from the IRS confirming that i dont have to pay taxes and to drop everything at dhl when we have them.   I didnt get the letter because i knew it would take forever so I just printed the irs publication that applied to my situation and highlighted them.  i quickly got everything together and mailed it on 10/31 and it got to ghana on 10/4.   She took it to dhl and was issued on 11/09.   We were a little worried cause it took a while for the status to change but we thank God that it is over.   Its been a long journey.

Lol I think it's "secondly", not secondary. Anyways, my friend, you made a bold statement that "COs dont lie, they just do their job!"
How do you know they dont lie? do you know them personally? Do you stand over every single COs in the world and watch every case they handle?
I just pointed out the fact that your statement was reckless, I was not insulting you. Admit when you are wrong and move on, no big deal.
I said you use critical thinking because a person who thinks critically would not make such reckless statement, was just a piece of advice, don't take it personal.

COs dont lie? LOL dont be silly. You talk as if you know them personally. If pastors can lie than COs can lie. Use critical thinking and stop giving people bad advice.

    Update on the case
I just got a letter back from my senator's office today. Immediately after my wife was denied I sent called his office and they asked me to send them an email detailing everything happened. I sent the email and included lots of evidence, photos, wedding certificates, our children U.S passports, etc... lots of evidence. They sent it all to the chief consulate on my behalf. The reply that gave is "the Case is still in Ghana and it is being review and they will contact me and my wife very very soon." Needless to say, I am very very happy. I honestly did not think anything would come out of contacting my senator's office. I am not sure what will happen but at least it is being reviewed again by someone. I pray for a positive outcome for us. Amen.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR WONDERFUL ADVICE.

I emailed the embassy and my senator. Everyone is coming online to complain but it seems no one is filing a formal complaint. You guys really need to do this so that they can do an investigation into the matter. Because if 80 out of 100 cases are denied and not a single complaint is filed, they will just assume she's doing a great job preventing scams. I'm guessing that's what they think because people just aren't complaining formally. If not that my case was held in Ghana and an investigation started, I would have complained to everyone I could. I already got the desired result so I have no reason to complain now.

Volta-Region got a reaction from strongmyk in Have you considered moving because of immigration hassle?
I wouldn't advice anyone to relocate to Ghana because of immigration difficulties. It requires careful planning, critical analyzing, and plenty of money. If not, you are bound to run out of money, get frustrated, and come back to the U.S in a bad situation. It's a very slim to no chance of getting a job with the state department and get stationed in Ghana. Be patient for now. But if you are going to move there, you should start taking steps towards that goal right now, and not make it a sudden decision.

I guess my thread is now the De facto thread for the Ghana embassy denial advice. But it's good to have everything experience and advice in one place so they can be easily found.

You have to contact the senator's office again after you submit the privacy release form. You need to send an email to the embassy and ask the status of your case. They will reply you and explain what's going on with it. Better yet, ask the senator's office to do that. You'll probably get a better reply.

    Update on my case.
If you guys remember, I contacted my senator the same day my wife's visa was denied. I sent him an email describing everything that took place during the interview along with most of the evidence myself wife took. His office then forwarded my email to the chief consulate in accra.
    1. The chief consulate review my case and stopped the case from being sent back to the U.s.
    2. It was placed on administrative processing.
    3. 2 days ago I got an email which stated that the case is being investigated and should be completed in the near future.
    4. They said after the review is completed they will call my wife to come back to the embassy.
So my case went from being put in the mail to go back to the u.s, to my wife being called to come back to the embassy.
When I got the news that my wife was denied I had a calculus-2 exam that day. I was completely depressed and couldn't even focus on the exam. I just knew I had to take action and can't just sit around and be sad. I honestly did not believe anything would come out of contacting my senator, I was just sad and needed to do something. And thank God I did. I thank God I did. Even if they just call her to bring more evidence at least this time she will take two luggage bags of evidence. It's much better than the alternative.

My wife was denied visa in Ghana today. They said they are sending the case to the U.S. how do I stop them and keep my case in Ghana? I need urgent advice. The officer said we did not provide enough evidence. We have two U.S citizens together. Chat records. We own land together. So many more evidence. I need urgent advice.

    UPdate!!
    1. My wife called the U.S citizen service (USCS) division of the embassy and told them everything that happened. The lady gave my wife the USCS email to give to me to detail everything that happened and send it to them, which i have done and included a lot of the evidence we gave. I also stated that she asked for DNA test on my American citizen children but did not explained to us how to go about doing one, or put our case on AP to give us time to do it. She just said she's done with our case and got up and left. I am not sure what will come out of this but at least its better than not doing anything.
    2. I contacted my senator office.
I was given his immigration service coordinator's email and told to detail everything the lady said. Also to include all evidence. They said the Senator will review it and send the appropriate email to the consular general in Accra.
Anything else I can or should do? any advice helps. thank you.

Of course I sent all those things and more. Those are basic evidence that every marriage people send. Your statement really makes no sense. What else makes a marriage more real other than having children? Having children with the one to whom you are married pretty much means you are serious. I sent more than 300 pics and 1,000 pages of Facebook, tango, and whatssapp chats. Plus so many more evidence. In fact, I sent too many stuff.
