No, not Cairo, it was Cameroon. I would have never thought to have my hubby memorize my social. I find it absurd that they would ask such a question.
I don't know why they would have kept it, I would contact them and request for it back,

OMG! I was just reading the interview thread ans someone posted that their husband just had his interview and one of the first questions they asked him was what her social security number is. Seriously? Unbelievable!

Thanks for this Ryan, I am so happy to hear they will split the workload. I've been going crazy waiting for Cairo to get caught up. Too bad they didn't split it earlier, hubby just got called back to active service for the army. I don't know what will happen if they schedule his interview while he's gone.

Okay just a pet peeve of mine but why are people here who have case complete asking questions about how long this and that and you haven't bothered to fill out the form to be added to the spreadsheet. Everyone is to be reading the 1st Post there you see instructions to fill out the form and other information.
The data we collect from everyone is only as good as those who bother to report. I do my best and yes I see you chatting and add you but I shouldn't have to be doing all the work and run you down and look up your timeline a (that's if you bothered to have one) and add you to the spreadsheet. Many have no country flag no Case complete date but yet you come and ask questions.
Anyway Welcome to the Group And congratulations on your Case Complete.
Interview getting folk this does not apply to you. If you are already on the list I already keep up with you You have enough on your plate. Plus I love updating on scheduling week.

Called NVC just for fun. Funniest conversation I've had in a while.
Me: Any news on an interview date yet?
NVC Rep: Nope, not yet. Sorry we're still waiting to schedule you.
Me: Okay, thanks. Oh, any chance you can tell me if they have completed scheduling the April interviews for Cairo yet?
NVC Rep: Sorry, I don't have that information. I can tell you however, we like to give people enough time to prepare for their interview so we try to give people at least 4 weeks notice. With that being said, don't expect an April interview because April is only a couple of weeks away and that wouldn't allow you enough time to prepare.
Me: Yes, you are correct, April 1st is only a couple of weeks away, but April 9th just so happens to be 4 weeks away, which would mean there is still plenty of time to schedule an April interview.
NVC Rep: Uhhhhhh... Well... We want to be sure to give people as much time as possible, 4 weeks is just the minimum, but we prefer to give more as courtesy to the beneficiary to prepare.
Me: Hahahahahahahaha! Uh... Okay... I don't know how forcing a husband and wife to be apart longer is courteous.
NVC Rep: (A moment of silence)
Me: Hello? Are you still there?
NVC Rep: Umm... Mam, it's to allow adequate time to complete the medical and such.
Me: Hahahaha!!! If my husband found out this moment his interview was tomorrow, he'd go to the doctors home, knock on his door to wake him up, and wave a little money in front of his face. He'd have his medical results in his hand and be on his way to Cairo within the hour. LMAO!
NVC Rep: Mam, is there anything else I can help you with?
Me: Hahahahaha! No. Thanks for the laugh though, I really needed it.

Hahaha! I Felt the same way! I was never so excited to give my money away than I was waiting for the AOS and IV fees to clear my bank account. Let's not even bet me started on how much I still dread the weekends. I thought it was difficult to wait for our CC, but man, waiting for an interview date is even more difficult.

Okay guys, I had a little bit of a meltdown this morning and went off on my case worker from the senators office who has been handling all this BS with my expedite request. Even with my case having been completed, the fact that my grandfather had the stroke, has an autoimmune disorder, is on immunosuppressants used for organ transplant, and that I have to brig him to weekly doctor appointments and am having extreme difficulties lifting him in and out of the car, chairs, bed, etc, it all means nothing to the Cairo embassy, as they denied our request yet again. Really, they couldn't schedule us an earlier interview? Because that is going to cause them a great deal of additional work? Seriously?! #######?!?!?! A**holes!
Anyway, this is what I said to him:
"Thank you for relaying the information. I have to be honest, I am experiencing quite an array of emotions at the moment. Disappointment, frustration, anger...

The U.S. Immigration system is broken and unjust. I am a hard working, law abiding, tax paying citizen, as are thousands of other Americans going through this process, yet we are treated as though we are degenerates, all because we chose to marry people from another country. Then there are those who have entered and made lives for themselves in this country illegally, who are receiving better treatment than us, the upstanding citizens, who are doing everything to bring our loved ones here legally. When everyone speaks of immigration reform, no one ever thinks of or speaks of this aspect. This needs to change, and it needs to change starting now! I would like to address this matter with Senator Klobuchar directly. How can I go about scheduling a meeting with her to discuss this matter? Please, can you assist me with this?
Thank you for all of your assistance over the last several months. I look forward to your continued assistance regarding this matter."
I can't sit by and keep my mouth shut any longer. If my case worker and Senator Klobuchar don't want to help reform this process, I will reach out to every constituent until I find someone willing to help me. Wallahi! If I didn't have to care for my grandfather or own a house here and have a million student loans to pay back I would leave this country and not look back!
    Okay, done ranting... Sorry...
