I applied under 5 years rule too, they are re-using my fingerprints from 5 years back.
Really! How did you get your green card?
I got mine through diversity visa lottery and I don’t remember taking biometrics?
Well, actually, I remember giving my biometrics at the port of entry first time entering the country. I don’t know if that counts.

Hope the rest can fill it too and not just read what others are posting..Seems @Tiffalready got her N400 interview. Thats was quick.

How come they reused @Tiff biometrics While she or he is applying under five years rule? I thought they would use the biometrics only if the person is applying in the three years (marriage).

A lot of countries have, but sometimes you can get special permission to leave for something like emigration. Not sure what the specific situation is there.
My cousin was lucky enough to board on that Emirates flight and enter the US without any problems. Thank you for your great advice SusieQQQ

Expedia shows flights available from Algiers to Dubai and then Emirates direct from Dubai to JFK, as an example.
emirates website https://www.emirates.com/us/english/destinations/alg/jfk/flights-from-algiers-to-new-york-john-f-kennedy shows a flight available on Thursday 30 July for this route.
Thank you. We’ll try if it works with this flight.
It’s really hard to flight from Algiers these days. The country closed its borders.

Are you using https://my.uscis.gov/?
You can see all your cases with more information there.
I see it now, thanks.
it says "Estimated wait time: 6 days ". Does that mean I will get my fingerprint appointment in 6 days? -
My cousin is from Algeria. He was lucky to pass his interview back in February and obtained a DV-1 visa.
He booked a ticket but unfortunately, he was not able to travel to the US due to Trump’s ban of flights from Shengen area which his flight was transitioning though.I know there’s another ban in effect on new immigrants.
Given that his visa will expire in army August, he is trying to book a ticket to the US with a stopover in Paris, France.
My question is: can he enter the US now?
If not on what basis he will be denied entry? Is it going to be because of the immigrants ban? Or because of transitioning through Shengen area?
Was any one able to enter the US with a DV-1 Visa recently?
Thank you for your help.

Hello everyone,
I just applied last night July 12th, Sunday. The receipt notice says July 13th. My account has not been debited yet.
It was a nightmare trying to upload documents, I tried Chrome, Firefox and even downloaded Microsoft Edge, but had to use my husband's work computer with Internet Explorer 11 on it to make sure everyone went through. Even then everything seems jumbled up on my documents tab. I would have mailed everything in organized nicely if it weren't for this Covid-19 mess.
I could not send tax transcripts from this year because they are not ready yet even though we submitted them by the regular April 15th deadline. So I included tax returns instead. I definitely did not send as much supporting documents as I did with AOS and ROC, I figure they know me and my marriage by now :). I received my 10-year GC at the end of May (no interview).
Good luck to us all!
Details are below:

Was your worldwide income between 09/27/2015 and 12/31/2015 less than $10300*? https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/p501--2015.pdf
If it was less than that filing threshold, then you weren't required to file 2015 taxes.
*I'm assuming you were Single and under age 65 on Dec. 31, 2015.
Yes, I was single and under 65 back then.
Between 09/27/2015 and 12/31/2015, I definitely made less than the $10300 threshold.
I think the document you have shared clearly makes the case for me to justify why I did not file my 2015 taxes. So I should be fine.
Thank you.

imo Better file. Did you work overseas between Oct 2015 and March 2016?
No I didn’t work. I was unemployed.
I double checked with My tax agent who also file citizenship application he said its fine.
I submitted the N-400 application. Only uploaded the Green card copies.

I am in the same boat, and I dont understand how it works. many people on here just say you need to submit all 5 years, but that makes no sense. Like yourself I got my 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016 but dont have 2015 because I also entered the USA 06/2015 Therefor preventing me from filing any taxes before hand because I was not legal before my green card. At the moment no one has given an answer that makes sense or given any examples. I would say bring all the ones you have and im sure the IO will understand, at least thats what im doing unless someone else on here can clearly explain the process of submitting a return for a year in which we could not file taxes for.
I just came across your topic. Indeed, similar case but a bit different.
It seems like you have worked in 2015 and you have W2 for income received. So technically, you could have filled your 2015 taxes between Jan and April 15th, 2016.
I did not have any W2 or other income forms for 2015 because i did not work that year.
If it turns out you need your 2015 tax return, I would suggest you use the below site to file a late 2015 return.

if your petition requires 5 years of tax return than you need to submit them.
The thing is that at that time, I thought i did not have to file taxes for 2015 because I only stayed in the country for 2 weeks and haven't had a job.
I asked my tax agent who also files N-400 form and he said there is no need to have the 2015 taxes. I am confused.

Hello everyone,
I became eligible to file N-400, Application for Naturalization on 06/29/2020 (90 days before 5th year anniversary). I obtained my permanent resident card through Diversity visa lottery
The first time entering the US was on 09/27/2015; I stayed in the country for 2 weeks only, then left and came back in March 2016. I did not file my taxes for the calendar year 2015.
Currently, I have all my tax returns for the calendar years: 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
My question: Is missing tax the return for 2015 will affect/delay my Naturalisation application ? Do I have file a late 2015 Tax Return before submitting my N-400 application?
Thank you in advance.

Thank you for all your answers.
what if we decide that she over stay here with me until I become a US citizen and apply for her. Is that possible? Is that going to eliminate her chances of getting a green card because she overstayed her VWP?

No wonder Cleveland is the best city to become a US Citizen in! It tops the national ranking. See below article.
