  1. Hi. First of all, congrats on your visa.

I was reading your interview experience and if you don't mind me being nosey I was curious about this part of the interview :

He said, Well I see you have had a few problems in the past which is no big deal, but when you have crossed in the past have you stated why and who you were visiting? I said yes, everytime I crossed I said that I was going to see my husband.

When he stated that you had a few problems, did he mean about trying to enter the U.S. on your previous visits? Did they give you problems with trying to visit a lot? I'm assuming they keep detailed records on every question whether at the POE booths, to secondary inspections, to visa denials.

Just curious. Always something to be stressed over.

  2. what exactly does it mean if you have been flagged? the time i got hassle i was held for about 10 minutes or so and asked a few questions about why i`m travelling and what job i have. everyone on here is making it sound like i really shouldn`t try to go back to the US, if thats the case then i am totally lost, i mean my girlfriend can`t make it accross to the uk as easily as i can to the US. any more advice? i mean most people on here ar epeople who are either in the k1 process or people who have done it, how often did you all visit your boyfriends or girlfriends when you were going through this? i am so confused right now.

When you say "HELD" do you mean just at the immigration desk?........or did you get taken to secondary inspection??.....One of the guys on VJ got questioned every time he came to the US & was allowed to come in & visit every time!!

To be flagged just means the next time you present your passport to enter the US the officer would be aware you were questioned before!!

I dont think you should'nt try again, I say if you dont bet you cant win!! RIGHT  ..............just make sure you take evidence of ties to the UK and also try not to stay for long periods of time!!....... i visited while going through the immigration process & traveled before also, only twice was i asked more questions than i had normaly experienced!!

But do be prepared if denied entry, you wont beable to use the VWP again!!

EDITED to add.......In one year alone i visited feb-march-june-august-oct,...but only short visits from 1 week to longest 4 weeks!!

Next time they scan your passport, they will see your previous entry details and a note that there was a discussion.

    I visited once.

She visited me 5 or 6 times. But several of those were on the back of work.

My fiance came here from Canada in April, then again in May then not again till August last year. He only stayed 8 days the first time, 5 days the second time and 12 days the third time(August). He was grilled for the 12 day trip.

Then he came again the first of January of this year and stayed for 6 days and the last time he came was the end of February...again for only 5 days. He wasn't given any problems the last two times. Only that third trip.

When they note that there was a discussion and not a denial, do they keep the details on the discussion? If so, I assume this is something that is kept permanently?

  4. Yes, that does help, quite a bit. Thank you very much. I know I won't be getting my NOA2 till who knows when and of course that gives me time to sit and worry about everything. But I'd rather be prepared way ahead of time, than not prepared at all. I really appreciate the help.

  5. Hi all. Once again, I know I'm jumping the gun a little but I've been searching the topics for over an hour on this subject. I know this may be a real pain to do, but if anyone is bored and has nothing better to do, could you tell me what exactly is in packet 3 from Montreal? What is on the checklist and what forms do they send for my fiance to fill out? I appreciate any help. :)

  6. Hi all. Seeing that we're all going through the same stressful, excrutiating process here, I thought I'd pose this question to everyone. What do you do to keep from losing your sanity throughout all this?

Seriously, there are days (such as I had yesterday and the day before) that I am such a nervous wreck I have hard time concentrating on the simplest of things and sometimes the crying does not want to stop. I worry incessantly as it is. Unfotunately that is my nature in the first place, but dealing with this entire process and being separated from my love is almost more than he or I can bare on a daily basis. We get to talk on the computer every day and that definitely helps but we all know nothing is like being in your love's arms.

This is honestly the most painful thing I've ever had to endure in my life thusfar. I'd appreciate anyone who wants to share their thoughts on this particular subject.

  7. Hi guys. I know I'm jumping the gun here and I've got quite a while before we'll even get our NOA2 but I want to be as prepared as possible when it happens.

Can anyone tell me exactly who and where my fiance needs to contact to get the police records? He lives in Toronto. Also, any idea on how long it normally takes to get them and how much it costs?

Something else I've been wondering is about the info the co-sponsor and I have to get from the bank officials concerning the money in my bank account for the past year. What exactly does the consulate want to see? Is it deposits only?

    Thanks

As long as it's a name based police certificate (no prior criminal record), if your fiancee lives in Toronto, they will get their Police Certificate from the local Commissionaires office.

    www.commissionaries.ca

They will not process the police certificate until you get Packet 3. I believe it costs $25.

The requirements for the bank letter can be found on the instructions to the I-134. It's pretty clear...

i didn't need packet 3 to get it done. just went in and told them what i needed it for. this has reminded me that i need to go pick it up tho. :)

Oops looks like I made a mistake on trying to reply. Sorry about that.

Anyway, thanks for the help, Ziggy. My head is swimming. I have looked and looked on here for the info and was having trouble finding it. Just too much info and I got overwhelmed, I guess. Thanks again :)

  9. I have a couple of questions concerning this as well. I realize that we have to have originals of birth certificate, divorce decrees and transcripts from the IRS. My first question is what about in my situation where I was married until last fall? I've been told that because I had to file jointly in 2003 and 2004 that I have to send my original W-2 forms for those years to show how much I made individually.

I'm also wondering about the snail mail letters from my fiance that he has written to me. They won't take those.....or will they? :( I mean obviously having my fiance get his visa and being here is most important, but I think everyone here can understand the importance of being able to keep originals of the letters he has handwritten to me for sentimental reasons.

All the original boarding passes and baggage tickets from the airlines? Do they keep those at the K-1 interview too or do they return them ? Will we need those later at any point for the AOS interview?

So my final question is this, really. Is there any way to keep our 'sentimental' orginal stuff used for evidence of our ongoing relationship.

    Thanks for you help.

I can help answer parts of yours :)

Montreal will not ask for proof of your relationship but if you're concerned bring copies of the envelopes to your interview.

We sent copies of boarding passes with our I-129f petition, and were not asked to provide the originals at any stage.

Wow, really? I thought for sure they'd want some sort of letters and/or e-mails we had sent to one another. That'd be a big load off our shoulders if they don't. Plus I was kind of stressing about his first three trips here. We didn't know at the time of those trips that we would possibly need the boarding passes and so he didn't save those. I called Delta and they said they don't even know if they could pull that info for us and even if they did it's $20 per ticket. What a rip off. As if we don't spend a rediculous amount of money for tickets the first time around. Sorry just venting. Thanks for the insight.

  11. Hi guys! I'm new here but have been a lurker for a while. About a month or so ago (maybe longer) I saw a very helpful and informative thread discussing ways to print out chat logs, voice call logs and chat transcripts. I have tried and tried the search to find it again but have had no luck. Does anyone remember this thread and can you help me find it? Any help is appreciated.
