You can take it with you, it is the date on it vs her travel date that matters.

She needs it to be issued BEFORE leaving the USA. It's proof she was able to leave the USA when she did. It does get her back in but if she leaves before it's issued they can decide she abandoned her AOS, even if she has it when she comes back.
